Awesome flight demonstration and great work by the cameraman with superb tracking. It's a shame this is the only way we can see a live Tomcat flying in the West. Great job!!! 👏👏👏
Thanks so much! We were thrilled with how the flight went, and the cameraman really captured its awesomeness. It is a bummer Tomcats aren't more common these days, but hopefully seeing this XXL version in action brought back some good memories!
I spent 4 years in close proximity with the F14 on the flight deck of an Aircraft carrier, nothing like standing next to the F14 with its afterburners fully open at night on the catapult ready for launch. Shook the deck I am happy I got to experience that.
That's incredible! I can only imagine the feeling of being on the deck with an F-14 launching. Must have been an amazing experience. This XXL version definitely gives a taste of that power, but there's nothing quite like the real thing!
52kg of thrust. What an absolute beast. flawless piloting also, great job.:)
Absolutely! 52kg of thrust is no joke, it really makes the F-14 XXL come alive. And you're right, the pilot's flying was flawless! Thanks for watching!
BRAVO ZULU Boys that was absolutely SICK!!! TOM CAT
We're glad you enjoyed it! This Tomcat definitely stole the show at Weston Park. Thanks for watching!
I can fly like that....in my dreams. Well done.
That's awesome! Maybe you have some pilot skills hiding in there. If you're ever in the area, you should check out Weston Park and see these amazing RC planes in person!
@Bravo303 I used to fly RC in the 1970s with my Dad but never went back to it after he passed away, but my son flies 737s so I get plenty of stories about flying. Now I'm just an enthusiastic spectator.
Oh wow that's quite the life experience you have built up there, If you ever decide to dip your toe back into the hobby the entry level park fly models are beautifully simple to get going and you can even get park fly electric jets now.. Have fun
One of the best I have seen on here.
So glad you enjoyed it! The F-14 XXL is truly a sight to behold, isn't it? Thanks for watching!
great job boys, congrats from germany
Great to hear from Germany! Thanks for watching and for the congrats, we really appreciate it!
Awesome. Brings me back to my Navy days.
Awesome! There's something special about the F-14, isn't there? This XXL version really captures its spirit. Were you stationed anywhere interesting during your service?
@Bravo303 6 Ship's all out of Norfolk. 5 Aircraft Carriers and one big deck amphib. I was on Coral Sea, Lincoln, Roosevelt, Reagan, Iwo Jima, and Enterprise. Flight deck operations directing aircraft.
That is quite the career path and the fact you served on the Big E is proper awesome, Now help me out on this last bit in my knowledge gap Flight deck operations and aircraft handling was that Green shirts ?
@Bravo303 There are 2 main components to flight deck operations; the Air Wing (squadrons) and ship's company personnel assigned to the Air Department. The green shirts in the squadrons are maintainers (engines, electronics, air frames). The green shirts in the Air Department work on catapults and arresting gear. They are assigned to V-2 Division. The movement of aircraft is all handled by V-1 Division. The directors wear yellow shirts. The tow tractor drivers, elevator operators, and chock/chainmen wear blue. The red shirts and silver hotsuit guys of Crash and Salvage are also part of V-1. V-3 Division is the Hangar Deck and V-4 Division stores, purifies, and pumps all the jet fuel. I absolutely loved Big E. It was my retirement command, and I was the leading chief of V-1. I had around 170 sailors working for me, and it was my best crew ever.
Bravo. Superb.
So glad you enjoyed the video
Awesome ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
The pilot is probably tired of hearing that song 5,000 times by now.
At some point you'd say if I hear that I'm landing, display over.
Haha, you're probably right! Maybe we can get him a 'Danger Zone'-free playlist for next time.
You're not wrong, that song is iconic! But trust me, the F-14's performance will keep you glued even without the soundtrack.
@@Bravo303 The pilot had one of the prettiest landings I have ever seen for a r/c jet/
There isn't a single thing I can fault on the model or the pilot, thank you for your hard work and display keep up your good work
Comments like this make our day! We're so glad you enjoyed the performance. Thanks for your support!
My God !!!! one off the best i ever see ..... congratulations...
So glad you enjoyed it! The F-14 XXL is truly a sight to behold. Thanks for watching!
This was incredible great footage
So glad you enjoyed it! The F-14 XXL is a sight to see, especially in flight. This twin-turbine really brings it to life. What was your favorite part of the footage?
For the first ten seconds, I thought it was a real plane.
Haha, don't worry, you weren't the only one! The scale and detail on this F-14 are incredible. It really comes alive in the air. Thanks for watching!
just WOOOOOW :)
I know, right?! That XXL F-14 is something else. Glad you enjoyed the video!
@@Bravo303 totally amazing :)
Thanks for tuning in
***LIFE HACK*** Slow the speed to 75%, then mute the audio. It looks like a real life airshow demo!!!!
Wow, that's a creative way to enjoy the video! Anyone else have life hacks for watching RC airplane videos? Let's hear them in the comments!
can i please watch an F14 without the bloody top gun music and talking!!!!!!!!!!!
Sure: put volume to 0
I know its a cliche that's getting a bit old, but the live audience seem to love it
Haha Not a bad shout but you then miss out on all those awesome Turbine low pass sound
@@Bravo303 get your vac cleaner out next to you on full
@@RobertdeVries-trimaran-sailingThen we won't hear the engines....
❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed the video and the F14
Plane :D
Plane indeed! This F-14 XXL is a real monster at Weston Park, isn't it? Glad you enjoyed the video!
Someone please develop a black smoke to make it look like the real thing in approach...😊👍
That's a cool idea! While these turbine-powered models can't replicate the smoke of a real F-14, some larger jet-powered models can. Maybe that's a project for another day! Thanks for watching!
do they ever put a camera in the cockpit?
Great question! There typically aren't cameras installed in large-scale RC models like this F-14 XXL due to weight and complexity constraints. However, some hobbyists do mount small cameras on the exterior for a unique flying perspective. But the exterior cameras are a rare thing to find on scale models as the fixing equipment usually entails some kind of glue. and not many scale pilots was to ruin there pristine scale finish with glue marks
What is it with the over done weathered panel lines? It seems like I'm seeing more and more models with over highlighted weathered panel lines on an otherwise clean plane.
Interesting point! This F-14 is a giant scale model, and sometimes with larger models, subtler weathering effects can get lost. What kind of weathering effects do you typically prefer on your models?
@@Bravo303 Fair enough. Your video has it appear well balanced when in the air. It seems like I recently saw a F4 that was done similar. I don't think it was the CARF F4. The CARF model I thought had tasteful weather in what I would expect on a maintained aircraft during its period of operation. Personally, I either like models very weathered or very clean. Weathered models showing rubbed off paint exposing the metal underneath show great modeler care. The reason I don't like the panel lines is that it ruins the concept of well done weathering and almost looks cartoon-ish.
Can I be 🪿!
I know, right? That F-14 is something else!
solo faltaron los 2 SU-57 😆😆😆
Jaja, ¡tú crees que el F-14 XXL tendría problemas con ellos? (Haha, you think the F-14 XXL would struggle against them? )
@@Bravo303 supongo que si Maverick pilotea no habría problemas
Why do you guys insist on flying with the drop tanks? The real bird flew much better without them!
Yeah, but….DROP TANKS!
That's a good question! There are a couple of reasons why RC pilots might choose to fly with drop tanks on their models, even if the real aircraft didn't use them in that specific instance. Scale aesthetics: While not historically accurate for every situation, some pilots enjoy the complete look with drop tanks.
It does look good with them on, Make this already Huge model look that much larger
Great plane, great filming, awful idiotic DJ in on the tannoy...
Thanks for the kind words about the plane and filming! We appreciate the feedback about the DJ. We'll definitely take that into consideration for future events.
@@Bravo303 I was being harsh, I realise you had no option... 🤣
su 27/30/33 not this shit plane, at least good pilot !!!
That's a great point! The SU series are fantastic aircraft as well. I just have a soft spot for the F-14's variable wings.
Pay NO attention to the butt-hurt borscht-eater; they are just P-O'd that mother russian NEVER had a comparable airframe to match the MIGHTY TOMCAT!! ANYTIME, BABUSHKA..... Long live the 'Cat!!!!
With F110 engines replacing the TF33s, the F-14 would've been a BEAST.
You're absolutely right! The F-110 engines offered a significant power boost over the TF33s. It would have improved the F-14's acceleration, climb rate, and overall performance.
