We need to finish this frame before the inspector comes

  • We have a big push to get this frame down before the building inspector comes to check if our frame passes or fails.
We booked the inspection in a few days prior, but had fallen behind schedule, resulting in this push to get everything complete.
Even with a push like today, our priority is always to make sure our work is to a high quality and everything is done right, even if we don't meet deadlines.
This is a Goldbourne Constructions frame that I am building with JTR Carpentry

You seem like a good boss. Very respectful and seem to always be looking out for those under and around you.

      Thankyou!
I’m not the boss but just a subcontractor working with some of the company’s apprentices but always try to look out for the boys and teach them as much as I can

You seem like a very qualified and knowledgeable person to work under. I like your mannerisms and the care you have with your apprentice; rather than treating the others like slaves or wanting haze them, you want to build their capacity and care for others around them. I hope it trickles down for when they have someone under them!

When I started in carpentry . Verbal abuse was just the way it was .As I descended the ladder and became a lead / foreman . You would have a few that you couldn't move .Unless you sent them a greeting card and bouquet of roses . It's nice as a lead to have those under you listen and do their best , But any manager of men will find out .. There will be cry babies that must face the lash . Some even fired on the spot . The guy he has listens and follows and that what he's supposed to do .Lead , follow or get the hell outta my way

Good video 👍🏼 Any particular reason why windows have been installed prior to sarking?

over here the roof sheeting, windows and outside sheathing need to be installed or framing inspection instant fail :(

neither roof sheeting, or solid wall sheathing are things over here. it will get foil paper wrapped around it, probably poorly. then the brick veneer goes up.

I am a sub-contractor. For this job I am subcontracting to a carpentry company, who has the contract to get this job.
I don’t have any apprentices myself, so when I subcontracted to a carpentry company, they gave me a few of their apprentices to help with this frame.
For smaller jobs I can do by myself, I can get the contract myself and do the jobs under my name.

@@vukaius5294 below $100 you'll get Bata Industrials which are really awful. i use the Hard Yakka Legend (Light tan colour) which are amazing to me. They are around $140-$160. Worth each bucks imo
