Interesting. I've been working in organisational development for 20 years. I don't see many signs of people committing to work differently even though they might say they want to. Now off to read Laloux' s book!
Agree. When an org is ready to grow culturally it usually happen organically, and it’s more about the managers learn the skills to not prevent it from happening, rather than starting before the organization is ready.
A bit offensive to hear this gentleman say, in such a broad sweep, that organizations do not use but a narrow part of the person. "No emotion." Please continue your research, because you have not found any organization I have worked for in the past 30 years. They have been filled with emotion, passion, excitement and accomplishment. I'll listen, but it sounds like a doctoral thesis to me. I expect Zappos to chase this concept with mediocre results for many years.
I'm sorry..."let's dance" with where the organization wants to go? Are you serious? I'm sure I'll be pegged as a nay-sayer or old codger. This man sounds like the sports program that wants every team and player to "win" and get a trophy. He has the luxury of researching without accountability. How nice that must be.
Hi D M. What Frederic is outlining during this presentation may feel uncomfortable at first but it actually works. I was inspired by his research 5 years ago and ET Group etgroup.ca (a 40 year old organization) has completely reinvented itself because of it. Happy to share more about the journey from a practitioner perspective if you are interested.
Is always a pleasure to get inspired by Frédéric!

Always enjoy Frederic Laloux's unique view on how organisations should look.
I totally need to get more organised!

D Myers Yes, you do seem to bask in the rays of enlightenment alright lol
No reference to work done by Peter Senge in the 1980's and 1990's.
