This might be my favorite song on the record...that clarinet solo...can we just replace all instruments with clarinets? Would that work?? OH! Last chance to order vinyl!!! Go to pomplamoose.com to order the French EP. Yay and thank youuuu!!!
Is February 2nd the final date for ordering the vinyl because it was also the day the First 45 RPM Vinyl Record was Released in 1949? - Otherwise, nice coincidence! Excited to get my Vinyl!
Oui, Oui, Ouiiii!!!!
Superbe.et équipe tjs aussi sympathique
Done!
As a Gypsy Jazz clarinet player, I approve this message :)
I just ordered the vinyl, can't wait for it to arrive!

This clarinet solo omg ! Amazing ! Magnifique !
"what s/he said."
Merci
This is what a hot, slow summer day in a small town in france must feel like.
French here: that's *exactly* what it feels like !! Thank you for putting your finger on it.
If you find the right spot close to the small fountain and your girlfriend is there with her bicycle and her flower patterned dress flowing with the slight wind, yes, this is how it feels. hmmmm!
That clarinet solo that begins just after the 2:00 mark is the best thing I've heard in a long, long time. Sign that dude to a lifetime contract.

Gracias !! ✌🏻🌺
This is something special. Every member of the group has the time to showcase their expertise. Excellence, once again. Bravo!
Through all these years, I'm glad Pomplamoose stuck around.
Blow me! All those years, all those decades and I never knew there were lyrics.
Just listened to this on headphones, in the dark. Could feel the stress just ebbing away. If everyone took just a few minutes to do this the world would be a more peaceful place, instantly. Thank you guys.
Got to love Django, and even more anyone doing justice to cover it...and even more, more....a clarinet solo.
This is pure 1940's. I remember my parents playing this type of music during get-togethers in the 60's. Regardless of language, they have got the feel perfect, beautifully sultry. Wonderful.
Oui !
Oh yes! This music was the sunny side of WW2.

Esta canción fue compuesta en 1935 !..
👋🏻🇨🇱🥰
Natalie opens her mouth and the words ooze out...goosebumps time.
Honestly, you're really knocking all of this Hot Club-flavoured stuff completely out of the park. Amazingly well done, all of you.
I sing and play my old guitar. This band is just great. When they play nuages you are really suspended on a cloud in paradise..Bravissimi!
Every time I hear clarinet like this I am reminded of middle school... Where I tried to join the jazz band and the band teacher told me clarinet weren't really suited for jazz music. Yet somehow the two flutes were.
Wat?! Had the band teacher never heard of Benny Goodman?
@@JohnWehrle Perhaps the clarinet player wasn't suited to jazz ...
how is that possible? had she never heard of Pete Fountain?!
The level of ignorance of this "teacher" is so profound my head wants to explode.
Your teacher was a putz.
Que voz! Genial. Amazing. Best regards from Brazil, guys.
I love clarinet playing with a genre like this and a tone like that! It's like buttery jazzy goodness.
My French is fifty five years High School old but I think I understood your comment tres bien.
There is no note here that isn't full of the right energy, the right passion, the right restraint. Musical delight.
These french songs give me the same vibes as Brazilian bossa nova 😍😍
It's because there's a strong connexion between old-school French jazz/chanson and Bossa Nova :

Estou amando.
My wife sits across the table while I listen and smiles knowingly. “Nataly?” she says. I sigh. “Yes, Nataly.” Who else sings in French in such a beguiling way? No one.

Hearing Natalie's song is like a floating on a cloud... Like it a lot
Oof that Clarinet is legit, just give me a nice coffee and listen to that lovely melody 😍❤️
Totally period accurate too. Me and my daughter played clarinet through school and we both love hearing it pop up in songs.
benny would have been envious.
Just fell into this heaven and I don't want it to end.
Have a cognac and be quiet. Im glad this stuff not coming out my speakers. Great music!
Ça fait rêver... Vous faites revivre toute une époque - bravo !
The clarinet significantly embellishes the composition. And without a guitar solo)a Great move.!Hi DJango!!!
The lighting on this piece is perfect. In fact, everything is.
As a clarinet player I applaud monsieur Tegmeyer, this is absolutely gorgeous. Lovely work by Nataly and all, what a wonderful version of this classic!

Slowly in the evening
the train leaves.
On the quay his handkerchief
already escapes.
In the ice like a dream
the gray wall of his house
Under the growing light,
fades on the horizon
A cloud stretches
on his blue roof.
As he goes he seems to say
a sad farewell
And everything I loved,
when the train turns
in a flood of smoke
,
fades forever
(break)
A cloud stretches
on his blue roof.
By the way he seems to say
a sad farewell
And everything I loved,
when the train turns
in a flood of smoke,
fades forever
++++ Thank you so much for writing out the lyrics and translating them into English. The theme of a sad farewell seems so appropriate on the first day of brexit here in the UK...
Who needs ASMR to give you tingles when you've got Nataly's voice.
It is astounding that something so relaxed can still be so powerful. Still don't know a lick of French But I can listen all day.
DANG! GREAT clarinet solo. Also i thk this is the first time i've seen a gypsy jazz guitar played w/a slide!
Well at the risk of sounding corny I do believe you just stole my heart!!!!
Nataly's voice is just butter! I've always loved this song, great cover!
Don't want to live on this planet with the 111 sad souls who down-voted this perfect and beautiful version. Can't stop listening....

You know, the one you thumb up at the first five seconds of the tune ? That’s Pomplamoose ;)
still getting back to these. Django is one musician that should not be forgotten, having a handicap and still beeing able to play amazing music like this is epic
Excellent , continuez avec d’autres chanson françaises . Et bravo aux différents musiciens.
Ahh, always love good old Django. Great instruments, and Nataly's soft voice in French; it's just liquid honey.
Well done. As a jazz manouche musician of many years, nice to see Django get this kind of viewer exposure.
I've been really attracted to the various originals and covers, especially the Daft Punk takes, but Pomplamoose has hit it out of the park with this album and this song in particular. Bravo! Truly special!
Two lovers dancing by moonlight... one last time... for the memories... of a lifetime.
Beautiful clarinet playing

This genre is not something I like, but this is so beautiful. What a great musicians. Delicate song and great timings.
Everything is fantastic as usual but this time the added bonus of John Tegmeyer is absolutely delicious! Great solo, great playing.
this is the most beautiful arrangement of this song I've ever heard, and one of the best gypsy jazz arrangements period!
thanks
If ever there was a voice to sing Nuages, it's Natalie's, ethereal like the dreams the song inspires. The trumpet and especially the clarinet add so much as well. I tend to like the first version of any song I really like, so I only wish Willie Nelson was playing the guitar along with you, as in his version. Hats off to all the musicians and thanks for giving me my own Nuages.
..beautiful
Belle voix!

A wonderful interpretation, very true to the original, with the same emotions. I'm so glad that I discovered Pomplamoose a couple of years ago.

Vraiment bravo
Do not forget the perfect voice which gets in perfect sync.. wonderful
OOMG! I could start learning French by learning this tune on my guitar. Simple can be best. Like flying low and slow.
just gorgeous - the musicians who play with you are brilliant.
Such a wonderful, beautiful piece, the talent and nuance are over the top !!!!
If you understand French or can get the translation, Nataly sings this to perfection. " I'm braving the huge night. I'm asking for forgiveness. He/She makes me jump into the void. In the Clouds" Amazing rendition!
Again (and again :-) ) a perfect interpretation. This song come from the style : "Jazz Manouche" . What is the term "Manouche" : "Person who belongs to one of the three groups which together form the Gypsies". Gypsies are living in many countries, the "Jazz Manouche" is their music style (return to Caesar what belongs to Caesar). So, for Django, ok, he is french but not only. About Django (Wikipedia) : Jean Reinhardt, better known as Django Reinhardt, is a French jazz guitarist born January 23, 1910 in Liberchies - today a section of the town of Pont-à-Celles - in Belgium1,2 and died May 16 1953 in Samois-sur-Seine. His style of playing and composition was then followed by followers, giving birth to a full-fledged jazz style, gypsy jazz.
Coming from a Sintenote 1 family and commonly known in France as "Gypsy", he is still today one of the most respected and influential guitarists in the history of jazz. Gravely injured in the fire of his trailer, he keeps all his life the consequences of his burns on his left hand which force him to find a new technique and to play in a style so particular that his followers of the following generations push the idolatry to obstruct the fingers to reproduce his infirmity and his technique3.
I enjoyed this very much as I've been impressed and entertained by the whole Pomplamoose catalog. I must also admit that Nuages is SO low key that what flashed through my head (I'm old enough to remember this) are bits from Second City's SCTV show where Eugene Levy parodied Perry Como, one of the most relaxed singers ever, in a series of "Perry Como - Still Alive!" segments.
Rick Goodin I was thinking exactly the same thing!!! She needs to sing a song while lying on the floor, with the microphone next to her mouth! Ha!
She does have a lovely voice!
This is like a jewel!!!! Amzing! I walk down Champs Elysees towards the Eiffeltower, hearing the voice of Nataly! Its magic, I m there!
This is what Talent sounds like kids!! 🎶
Sublime...
Thank you. Sharing you with my 87 year old mother.
