Fun fact: That microphone on the desk is a practical mic. They still record audio off of it. Occasionally someone will bump into it and you hear the impact.
I love that stanz cracked up at Link’s tagline “as you can see, we cant!”, because I’ve hysterically laughed at it every time and I was starting to feel lame
Being able to build a company from scratch to the point where you can start diverting your attention to other creative projects while not letting the company take a hit is not only impressive but idealy the goal no? Rhett and Link deserve everything they achieve
Not only that but they didn’t grow up with the internet, they learned how to build a company without the tools that we have now. And they have a project to help young creators. These 2 guys are special
Rhett and Link has sooooooo much lore that it would’ve been all day just to make sense of everything. Ear biscuits alone could’ve had a dedicated episode
Stanz discovering something I've been watching for a decade and being force fed lore is fucking hilarious...next he needs to experience Mythical Chef Josh and his many quirks on his many different types of episodes/shows...
Dang, and there’s so much more. Like Rhett and Link are the reason why the Zebra was a symbol for LMFAO, and they appeared in the Sorry for the Party Rockin’ music video. Jasen Siegel has likened watching them, to the comfort he had in watching Mr. Rogers. And Post Malone is so into GMM, he always stays for the More video and calls the cast/crew by name.
the person who presented this to you did such a good job. It was super informative, very well paced, and highlighted all of the same parts of their career I would've :p theres still so much more to see from them but this was a great video
Thinking about how much content theyve made would make my brain explode. Their commercials, gmm, buddy system, their music, the mythical kitchen, mythicon, ear biscuits, and so much more... Its INSANE.
This was only a scratch on the surfacecof what Rhett and Link and Mythical are. Having watched pretty much everything they've ever created, this was very surface level. Nowadays, yes, they eat a lot, but they make even that highly entertaining, and I like to think they are peaking right now, or possibly in near future.
It always makes me so happy seeing people discover rhett and link. They have been such a big part of my life since middle school (I’m 24 now) and have brought me so much joy and have changed youtube forever
Genuinely so surprised he didn’t know them until recently. Like they’ve been such a huge part of my life for 8+ years and I always thought they had a larger reach than what they actually do😭
I discovered Rhett and Link when I was around 12 years old I believe, maybe 13. At this point I don’t even remember what got me hooked, i think it was either the I’m on vacation or the belly button song music videos, but there has been no other creator to steal my attention more than mythical. I always come back, even if I get busy and miss a few weeks of content, I will always try to catch up. They can always cheer me up when I’m down, and I frequently have laughing fits over their videos. It’s truly amazing what they have accomplished, and I fully recognize that they have a great team to help them with everything as well!!
Oh man, the nostalgia hit this gave me. I watched Rhett and Link and the GMM until a 3-4 years ago when I just kinda grown out of it. Stanz not being to able to get the riddle like Link in the episode is a hilarious throwback.
By the way, in most episodes, the middle microphone actually records. But they do have Lavalier mics and there is sometimes a boom mic. They tend to record episodes in between 1 month and 2 weeks in advance, so they have a caché of episodes to move around, but they plan content to be released weekly, which means that if one episode is not going to come out, they have to analyze if they also scrap the whole week.
Fact check! The microphone in the middle of the desk is still fully functioning and used in the final sound mix. They've talked about this a few times recently.
If I remember correctly, Good Morning Chia Lincoln lasted until the Chia Lincoln died, which is probably not a year. I guess they missed doing the talk show thing after Chia Lincoln ended, so they created GMM afterwards.
Need a Part 2 to cover Good Mythical More, their golf, shuffleboard, Ten Feet Tall, Mythical Kitchen, A Hot Dog Is a Sandwich, Last Meals, Past Food, Gourmet Fast Food, Link pissing as a chocolate fountain, celebrity guests, all the places they been guests, etc etc.
I’ve been watching Rhett and Link since the Good Morning Chia Lincoln era. Me and my old best friend would watch them constantly while drawing. I was around 12 or 13 at the time, it’s insane how much time has passed since then.
He talked about Link drinking the cat poop water, but didn’t mention that time when Link almost hit Chase with a dart when talking about the International Food videos, or how Link is known to be reckless when it comes to weapons
I thoroughly enjoyed watching someone else experience Rhett and Link for the first time. There is so much more that didn't get touched on - like Link swimming in a giant bowl of cereal!
There was a moment Where they tried to reinvent the show when RUclips red sponserd them. But there was so much backlash that they went back to the basic deskroom setup
for someone who watched rhett and link as a kid, watched gmm for many years but haven't in many either, it was nice to see someone's first time seeing these legends at work
Back in 2011ish I was a big fan of Myster Guitar Man on RUclips. He did a video collaborating with Rhett and Link called “T Shirt War”. That was my first intro to them and I’ve been a fan since! Saw them live for the first time at their show in STL this month!
never watched a video by you stanz, sorry about that. i just love Rhett and Link so much, and i really enjoyed this video :D. You reacted well, well put together video and edited nicely :).
Yeah I think that would have been a good one specifically for Stanz honestly... but I can see why it wasn't since they were trying to grasp a whole picture rather than just some fun moments. Here's hoping there's a part two or for whatever reason Stanz actually just watches that vid lol.
I apparently subscribed to them like 10 years ago and always seen their videos in my sub feed, but never really watched them. I think it was the name. I didnt "get" what good mythical morning was supposed to be. I think it was the "mythical" part of the name that confused me, and even now after watching tons of their content, I still dont get that part lol. About 6 months ago I started watching them and was hooked. Now I watch multiple videos every day. Feel kind of lucky, I still have a ton of new content, to me, to watch for a long time to come. Rhett and Link and the whole crew are great!
I didn't know about Smosh until 2019, except I DID watch the Pokémon video when it came out and thought "who are these dweebs?" More successful than me in 2023, that's who.
Ngl im mad that i didnt find them when they were doing songs and sketches BUT i am happy that my partner intruduced me to them. I loved them insantly as soon as i watched a internatinal dart video and right now me and my boyfriend is watching them daily together. They are really funny
There’s really like a lot of inside jokes that kinda accrue over time as you watch GMM, so some things just wouldn’t hit as well if you tune in randomly. But of course, you can start anywhere and stay consistent with it to eventually get to that point. I’ve been watching for a long time, like 2014 was when I hopped. In college I’d be up late af, talking 4am and they still always upload around 3am PST - meaning I’d be up late enough to watch GMM before bed lol. It’s wholesome stuff
Quick little correction I want to make, at 5:47 Stanz makes a comment about how "this wouldn't work" referring to Rhett and Link's sketch comedy/musicals and how it's essentially not RUclips/algorithm friendly. While this statement may be valid for THIS specific content, sketch comedy/musicals is still a behemoth on RUclips... it's just taken a different form and is targeted towards a specific audience. We've all seen them, we all love them, THE AMAZING ADVENTURES OF SPIDERMAN AND ELSE: FROZONE ESCAPED?!? Just kidding... sort of. But those types of videos, essentially "kid friendly" content, is the evolved form of sketch form content. It hasn't gone away and is most definitely successful (one of those Spiderman Elsa videos that was posted last year had over 100 million views. Literally Mr Beast level success). Theres hundreds of channels in multiple languages that do sketch "comedy"/musicals and are MASSIVE. Its just, yeah, different audience and different vibe. But, I'll make a maybe hot take, and I will say that sketch comedy is still existing and doing well today for an older audience. It may have ended, but the Dream SMP is essentially a sketched out story. While it was primarily streamed, there are hundreds of thousands of videos that have taken clips from those streams and have posted them and gotten MILLIONS of views. The Dream SMP inspired a long list of other MC creators to make "sketch" content, the largest (and the one that hits the trending tab the most) is Aphmau. Beyond Minecraft, there are GTA RP servers that follow sketches, and there are even some surviving sketch comedians, like Daniel Thrasher (I will admit he's the only one off the top of my head but I went into the trending tab and found 2 others in "Now" and several in "Gaming") that are still successful. So while it may not be as permeable into the algorithm as the current MrBeast/React/I Did A Thing meta, sketch type content is still successful and can be found without much effort.
from my observations, rhett and link have a huge audience with people who have bad relationships with their fathers lmao, they're just the internets dads
There's definitely key things that divide gmm into different iterations. When they decided they were done vomiting all the time and brought real chefs on to not punish them so much...that really changed the face of the show. Sometimes I go back to just watch them puke up testicle and liver and eyeball.
Fun fact: That microphone on the desk is a practical mic. They still record audio off of it. Occasionally someone will bump into it and you hear the impact.
It's the Mouse from Blue Microphones. They've used it since before moving to LA.
Fun fact: Rhett and Link made their first rap battle *before* ERB.
ERB was inspired by them
Link is the first ever known media of someone saying “Hawk tuah” (Hawk to a) in internet history. This isn’t a joke, it’s literally canon.
I love that stanz cracked up at Link’s tagline “as you can see, we cant!”, because I’ve hysterically laughed at it every time and I was starting to feel lame
it never gets old
Being able to build a company from scratch to the point where you can start diverting your attention to other creative projects while not letting the company take a hit is not only impressive but idealy the goal no? Rhett and Link deserve everything they achieve
Not only that but they didn’t grow up with the internet, they learned how to build a company without the tools that we have now. And they have a project to help young creators. These 2 guys are special
They literally have a podcast for every day
As a very big GMM fan, I was afraid he was not gonna do it justice, but they totally did in this video
Rhett and Link has sooooooo much lore that it would’ve been all day just to make sense of everything. Ear biscuits alone could’ve had a dedicated episode
Stanz’s face is a perfect blend of Rhett and Link
Holy
Moly
I don’t see it
The Terrifying Realisations Of Man
LMFAOOOOOO
Stanz discovering something I've been watching for a decade and being force fed lore is fucking hilarious...next he needs to experience Mythical Chef Josh and his many quirks on his many different types of episodes/shows...
Josh is like a cryptid.
Been watching GMM / R&L since middle school... crazy how time flies. Their content has always been something I can return to and find comfort in 😊
Same!
I stared watching them when I was 16 in ‘08! So next year when I turn 32 it’ll be for half my life. 😮
There is so much Rhett and Link lore and there's always new lore being formed. I remember when Tokyo and Link finding a sprite were the funniest gags
Stanz calling the mouth pieces "too sexual" killed me lol
dog it was sexy as hell
the jump from "here's their show" to the lore of moochelle was astonishing
Theres so much you can say about all their videos, so many of them have connecting jokes and call backs, just so many good moments
As someone who was 10 yrs old at 2005, R&M was great content even for a young chap like myself.
Its crazy to see where they are
"Rhett impersonates Link" was the perfect wheel ending for the first episode. And it was totally random.
a good introduction to rhett and link’s appeal would be to watch literally any youresoloud video on them. top tier content!!
"They own Smosh". Well, let's talk about that...
I love the concept of trying to explain Cotton candy randy to someone. The nonsense of it is just too incredible.
Definitely need a part 2, they have so much more Stanz would love. Especially the guests
Thinking about how much content theyve made would make my brain explode. Their commercials, gmm, buddy system, their music, the mythical kitchen, mythicon, ear biscuits, and so much more... Its INSANE.
Surely the most universally loved youtubers out there? Pair of absolute legends.
"People are spamming cotton candy randy" It was one guy in chat 2 mins ago lmao
This was only a scratch on the surfacecof what Rhett and Link and Mythical are. Having watched pretty much everything they've ever created, this was very surface level. Nowadays, yes, they eat a lot, but they make even that highly entertaining, and I like to think they are peaking right now, or possibly in near future.
one person: “cotton candy randy”
stanz: “EVERYONE in chat is SPAMMING cotton candy randy”
Gmm has been an instrumental part of my day for like six or seven years now
How did i not know after all these years that GMM made the chuck testa ad.... makes it even more iconic
He's even been in a couple GMM episodes! Around seasons 2 and 3 if I remember correctly lol
@@Game_Erica oh damn! What a legend
Damn, can’t believe Stanz managed to perfect the “Lets talk about that” on his first attempt.
18:46 Stanz dying when it cuts to Mike and Alex in the bath had me deceased 💀
It always makes me so happy seeing people discover rhett and link. They have been such a big part of my life since middle school (I’m 24 now) and have brought me so much joy and have changed youtube forever
Genuinely so surprised he didn’t know them until recently. Like they’ve been such a huge part of my life for 8+ years and I always thought they had a larger reach than what they actually do😭
I started watching them when I was 18 in 2014. Now I am 27 in 2023.
I discovered Rhett and Link when I was around 12 years old I believe, maybe 13. At this point I don’t even remember what got me hooked, i think it was either the I’m on vacation or the belly button song music videos, but there has been no other creator to steal my attention more than mythical.

Moochelle dying was the first full GMM episode I've ever watched
Oh man, the nostalgia hit this gave me. I watched Rhett and Link and the GMM until a 3-4 years ago when I just kinda grown out of it. Stanz not being to able to get the riddle like Link in the episode is a hilarious throwback.
It's crazy they didn't even talk about their very very very religious background.
This video randomly popped up in my recommended and now I’m subscribed for more!! I loved your commentary in one of my favorite channels 😂
This is the most goated deep dive you’ve ever done
Gotta say, this is the last thing I expected Stanz to post.
This makes me happy. My girlfriend and I have been watching GMM for literally 10 years now. Wholesome and fun to watch.
Kinda disappointed stanz didn't get to see Rhett's latent psychic power be awakened by consuming deadly amounts of red bull
This is my favorite "reaction format". I love that Stanz got to experience the ridiculous nature of Rhett and Link.
Fun fact: The mouth piece game they were playing was created by another big creator by the name of Joe Santagato
Fact check! The microphone in the middle of the desk is still fully functioning and used in the final sound mix. They've talked about this a few times recently.
They’re such a behemoth they bought smosh for 10 mil and didn’t flinch
If I remember correctly, Good Morning Chia Lincoln lasted until the Chia Lincoln died, which is probably not a year. I guess they missed doing the talk show thing after Chia Lincoln ended, so they created GMM afterwards.
I could watch hours of you just showing your buddy GMM highlights for the first time.
Rhett said they still use the mic in front of them! The final mix of the show includes that mic plus two lav mics under their shirts.
Cotton Candy Randy is so legendary lol
Need a Part 2 to cover Good Mythical More, their golf, shuffleboard, Ten Feet Tall, Mythical Kitchen, A Hot Dog Is a Sandwich, Last Meals, Past Food, Gourmet Fast Food, Link pissing as a chocolate fountain, celebrity guests, all the places they been guests, etc etc.

this does deserve a part two and then a part 2.5 just for the contextual ff fan, if stanz does not see that plexiglass scene i will die or smth
There was a moment Where they tried to reinvent the show when RUclips red sponserd them. But there was so much backlash that they went back to the basic deskroom setup
for someone who watched rhett and link as a kid, watched gmm for many years but haven't in many either, it was nice to see someone's first time seeing these legends at work
They do use the microphone lol Rhett made a whole TikTok about it 🤣
Lol GMM got me through highschool back in the 2012-15 years. Didn’t care for the music, but they were funny, probably still are.
Back in 2011ish I was a big fan of Myster Guitar Man on RUclips. He did a video collaborating with Rhett and Link called “T Shirt War”. That was my first intro to them and I’ve been a fan since! Saw them live for the first time at their show in STL this month!
"btw why are we getting a brit to explain rhett and link? half of the content is american fast food" Such a typical 'Merica! chatter lmao
The fact you are enjoying them brings me joy!
Rhett and Link have all my respect. They are absolutely amazing people, content creators, fathers, etc. I hope I can keep watching GMM when I'm 50.
never watched a video by you stanz, sorry about that. i just love Rhett and Link so much, and i really enjoyed this video :D. You reacted well, well put together video and edited nicely :).
The “where in the world do these international flavors come from” jingle is everything
Dam I wish he watched the taskmaster episode of good mythical morning
Yeah I think that would have been a good one specifically for Stanz honestly... but I can see why it wasn't since they were trying to grasp a whole picture rather than just some fun moments. Here's hoping there's a part two or for whatever reason Stanz actually just watches that vid lol.

Rhett and Link and the whole crew are great!
Me enjoying this deep dive casually when he hits me out of left field and says Rhett and link own Smosh and now my brain is rattling around in my head
I didn't know about Smosh until 2019, except I DID watch the Pokémon video when it came out and thought "who are these dweebs?" More successful than me in 2023, that's who.
They made a deal with Anthony and Ian and now they own Smosh again!
we need a part 2!!!
If he thought the mouthpieces were too sexual the it’s a good thing he didn’t play him the “welcome the the internet fam” fountain clip 😂
6:55 Stanz practicing his Ozzy Osbourne
As stanz said at 14:40 it can’t change if rage, it’s been daily since like 2014 it’s part of getting ready in the morning
Ngl im mad that i didnt find them when they were doing songs and sketches BUT i am happy that my partner intruduced me to them. I loved them insantly as soon as i watched a internatinal dart video and right now me and my boyfriend is watching them daily together. They are really funny
Not to mention that Rhett just made a country album
Ive been watching them since i was a kid 😭
If Stanz doesn't know about rhett and link or idubbbz... DOES HE NOT KNOW ABOUT FILTHY FRANK?
In that first music video, Rhett looks like he could be a member of smash mouth and link a member of the barenaked ladies 😭💀
10:00 I mean they owned smosh... you could say it was pretty big 😂
Real ones remember the origin of Rhett and Link. The Bentley Brothers
8:19 yooo this guy is the perfect gmm tour host 😭😭😭✋🏾
If you haven’t already, please do a shallow dive into Jake and Amir, as well as their other projects like Headgum & If I Were You
i watched GMM everyday for at least 4 years, but then they stopped showing up in my recommendation, and I haven't watched it in 2 years I think
Love Rhett and link
There’s really like a lot of inside jokes that kinda accrue over time as you watch GMM, so some things just wouldn’t hit as well if you tune in randomly. I got hooked, with GMM 3 years ago when I saw the international food taste, and now, is so much more and part of my like, I got a “BYMB” tatto
Rhett Link and their distance friend stanz
I can’t believe you didn’t discuss the whole local commercials era. That was the biggest thing on RUclips for quite a while early on.
Quick little correction I want to make, at 5:47 Stanz makes a comment about how "this wouldn't work" referring to Rhett and Link's sketch comedy/musicals and how it's essentially not RUclips/algorithm friendly.

from my observations, rhett and link have a huge audience with people who have bad relationships with their fathers lmao, they're just the internets dads
You'll never be able to convince me that "Rub Some Bacon On It" wasn't peak Rhett & Link
they started making this type of content again, its documentary, skit, song, all in one
I second a part 2 I’ve been watching Rhett and link for as long as I can remember
I didn't watch the full stream but please tell me they mentioned Rhett & Link being in the Sorry for Party Rocking music video
"They own Smosh!" ...that aged well
There's definitely key things that divide gmm into different iterations. When they decided they were done vomiting all the time and brought real chefs on to not punish them so much...that really changed the face of the show. Sometimes I go back to just watch them puke up testicle and liver and eyeball.
its really weird seeing this. like ive never thought about how id have to explain gmm to people im so used to it now
I've been waiting for this deep dive!
We definitely need a video for all the things you guys couldn’t get to
This is just a great video every mythical beast should watch
