The Bose Soundwear Companion is a strange new audio product. It's not another pair of noise cancelling headphones and it's not a typical bluetooth speaker. The Bose Soundwear Companion fits somewhere between the two. Bose calls it a personal speaker and the performance surprised me.

Lew, I bought this and do enjoy it... on a side note, the grills over the speakers are quite thin and tend to dent easily (sharing this through experience). Once the grills are dented it’ll cost around 270 dollars to fix it (price of a new set!). I thought you may want to propagate this, so people are cautious when changing the protective skin.
I can’t tell if people next to you can hear or if it is silent...can you help me?

You'd be better off getting an open backed headphone, possibly with a floating head band, something like a MASSDROP X AKG K7XX or Sennheiser 6XX. I have the K240's which are a lot cheaper, and they're incredibly light and comfortable (apart from the earcups which I replaced). The plus side of open-backed headphones is that the sounds is WAY more spacious, so it's like you're not really wearing headphones (compared to normal, closed headphones).

I like the simplistic design of it!! Who else!! As a youtuber I might just need to get one 😤
After having owned and used the BOSE soundware for about 1 year I can say two things. The clarity and separation of sounds is incredible and unmatched, but the bass is limited. I'm am of course expecting way too much from a unit of this size, there is NO WAY any piece of soundware BOSE or other brand can reproduce the sound quality of a 10+sub woofer which is much of what most audiophiles drip for. One can dream, but its impossible as bass requires massive amounts of air mass movement, BUT, BUT with that said...the BOSE soundware is amazingly impressive, so much so that I recently sold my JBL D.J. over the ear headphones because they are no where near match the sound quality of the BOSE soundware...and that's the honest truth. I'm sold and glad I bought these high priced, pieces of ear candy and when these audiophile beauties take their bow, I will be first in line to purchase the new and improved model. ******* Five stars baby, BOSE won my heart and I was a hard nose, bastard skeptic.
How much of a nuisance is it for people around us if we are using it in a room with other people?

I'd spend 299 for the quality of sound they put out. It's truly amazing
I think these would be amazing for movies, I tried them on once in a store and the sound is straight up amazing
I bought this in July and LOVE so much about them. I have sensitive ears, so earbuds bother me after a while. Over-the-ear headphones are hot, especially when I'm doing stuff outside. These have been the perfect solution. There are times when I put them on as soon as I get up and have have a steady stream of podcasts, audiobooks, or music throughout the day. I can wear them in bed at night and listen to stuff without bothering my husband. When I have them quite low, he doesn't even hear them. I work at home. There are a few quirks with the multi-function button not behaving as I would like with some apps, but overall, it works like it should. The buttons were really hard to press for quite a while. I have arthritis and it was painful for me to do the three taps for fast forward and two for rewind. I prefer separate buttons out at least rocker buttons so I can just press once when I need to skip back or forward. Charging is kind of a PITA because of how you have to unzip the cover and pull it apart in order to access the charging port. You can't charge it and listen to it at the same time, either; this is not only because the charging port is between your neck and the unit, but because it just plain doesn't work while it's charging.
Hi, are you still happy with these headphones? Is it worth buying?

Maybe it works so good because it's a literal surround sound. The device wraps around the area of your head, so it's easier to duplicate sound as if it was actually in the room. It's not like regular headphones that shove the sound waves directly into your ear. It gives you the space that's usually there between the source of the sound and your ear lobes.

I've had mine since this first came out. Sound quality is amazing and it's a great way to play your music or podcasts, audiobooks, etc. However, I am on the phone all day long and many people complained that they could not hear me, so that was a big disappointment. I was hoping to use it for my business calls but I just use my iPhone speaker.
I still have mine working perfectly in 2024, the sound is AMAZING.....dont let anyone tell you otherwise . The bass is very good for what it is and many people are impressed when they see it on my neck. As its not a mainstream device everyone thinks is so high tech even in 2024
This looks like the PERFECT thing for gaming, (if you are not chatting of course). Both in ear and over ear headphones start to hurt my ears after prolonged usage. But the issue with room speakers is that there is no sense of where sounds are coming from in the game via left, right, forward, and behind you. This to me seems like a perfect solution, providing comfort and directional relativity. You should have definitely tried it out for gaming, it almost seems made for that to me.
