I will tell you what does work. I used a powerful fence charger and set up woodposts with vertical wires and insulators just on the outside of the gutters of my house. I was watching Ratcoons desperately try to pry off wood near my metal ventilation shutters on the sides of my house close to the attic. Also I have a greenhouse next to the south side of my house and watched them in desperation try to break through there too. I also had a lot of Ratcoon poop on or near my gutters. I was watching them on my video surveillance camera. So when I installed that electric fence around the gutters of my roof it was with great satisfaction that the Ratcoons would get a severe electrical shock and this has done wonders to keep those highly destructive beasts off of my house so that they are not able to break in. I would hear them as they got zapped and it was a great pleasure to hear that satisfying sound.
Thanks for posting. Coyote urine seems to have done the job for me however I sprayed it on towel paper and throw the paper around the attic and soon enough we were the ones who were gonna leave the house for the slinkiness of that pee. it's only been 48 hours, I cannot see if she took her babies away but for sure we can't ear them no more. tomorrow if still gone i will close the suffit vent which they smash through the mesh.
@@e79422 broken suffit vent mesh, maybe they smashed through, replaced for thicker stronger mesh type. they never came back, glad this was resolved without harming anyone. my dog been sleeping at night again until rats showed up under my garden shed but that's another story haha
I think it may work since they are going to be afraid of the smoke, thinking there is a fire. They dislike strong scents like essential oils, cinnamon & clove. However, I tried a lot and they would just leave for a couple of days. That may be enough time to get the repairs done to prevent them from coming back.
I soaked rags with various chemicals - ammonia, bleach, vinegar and tossed them around the attic. I even mixed them all together with some cayenne pepper and sprayed around the attic. I think the bug bomb managed to reach all of the attic so they couldn't just avoid it like other things. I have a large attic.
Yikes! Yeah I had someone tell me to close the opening with them still inside. I could just imagine the smell plus it would have been inhumane. I would advise some of the products on the market but, when my wife accidentally left some raw chicken in her car last Summer for 3-4 days we tried everything we could find. Spraying vinegar seemed to work the best but not perfect.
I closed the opening and after two days stuck in there it started doing other kinds of damage trying to get out. Then I opened it again, made noise and drove it out. So far so good.
You are supposed to leave the house for a couple of hours when you use the foggers then it's safe. The smoke bombs are safe. They just don't keep the critters out as long so you would want to be ready to make repairs ASAP where they are getting in.
Did it solve your problem?! Where about was the entry points ?! The reason I ask is because I have all wild life around so I'm not sure what's up there?! It's driving me nuts!!!!!!!
The fogger seems like a good trick, Those smoke bombs smell like a long lasting fart and I don't think that would be a good idea. If you have a porous attic that smell gets into your home and WHEW!
I would wear a mask and goggles. Amazon has some pretty high-quality ones that aren't very expensive. The foggers cover a large area though and Raccoons are pretty sensitive to strong odors.
Yes, I could hear the adults. They were quite loud. After I tried shooing them out they did get a lot more stealthy - they are very intelligent. They pulled down some soffit and climbed in to get to the attic. They only need a small hole to squeeze through. They also got into an unused chimney that didn't have a guard. Once I got them out I made repairs.
@@e79422 I would get a cage then and trap & relocate. Best bait I've found is mini marshmallows and sprinkle all around and under the trip panel. They are good at stealing bait without getting trapped so you have to make it difficult for them.
My friend is having the same problem but he lives in a trailer so he has no attic access they chewed a whole in the roof do you think we should throw one of those bug bombs through the whole?
I did wildlife removal professionally for over 20 years now, I can tell you he makes a good point about the mothballs (which is also federally illegal for the deterrent of mammals) but this advice of using a fogger is going to leave a lot of people with dead raccoons to dig out of their attic, especially if done at the wrong time of day. Depending on the time of year IF it works, there could still be babies left behind since the mother raccoon would need time to transport them to a secondary den site. Along with that, regardless if they are in your home, in most states they are protected fauna and you will need a permit to remove them. Specifically because of people implementing these "great ideas" they find on the internet.
Yeah. I ended up having to trap a couple because they were looking for ways back in, getting into trash etc. They were outsmarting the traps plus I was catching feral cats & possums, which I didn't want, until I figured out a couple of tricks. I'll post a video on that soon.
Excellent... I was imagining a smoke bomb or something to permeate the air. Thank you for all your attempts! I was going to try many of those!
Did you try any of those he mentioned?! And please let me know if it worked?!
Where did you get the smoke bombs? I don't have an all year round fireworks store near me.
Menards. Not sure if they always have them. I'm sure there are places that sell them online.

Good video. What about burning incense and letting the fumes just permeate all over? If so which scent would they hate ?

I’ve heard to soak tennis balls in ammonia and throw them into the area like an attic or crawl space 🎉

be careful with smoke balls they can start fires
Good advice but i have to get the smell a dead one left!

Have you tried the super sonic waves that they provide to get rid of raccoons and pests
Yes. I had those things plugged in all over the house. They don't work.
As for those foggers are they not safe ?! Especially in the attic?! Those smoke balls are cool!!!!

I think I would try a smoke bomb first. I think the roof is full of insulation in most trailers.
Did you do this at night so they can leave during the night while they're awake?
I did it in the morning just before leaving for work. I didn't want to be in the house with the fumes.

You need a trap 🪤
Get a Bridger Dogproof Raccoon Trap at Cabela's. The baseball bat did the rest.

How about ultrasonic rodent repeller?
I've tried a few brands of those without luck for Racoons or mice.
