On my first watch these are my thoughts 1:Ringing the doorbell implies that MC Walked up to the door, rang the doorbell, ran back really fast and then decided to do a running kick rather than just busting through the door or something else. 2:This was horribly cut, throughout the entire fight I had no idea where anything was until the axe part (that was great). If they would have taken the number of cuts and like halved it I think the fight would look a lot better 3: When MC picks up the gun he fires up and the bullets go to the side. 4:The scene with the girl goes nowhere, I initially thought he was there to save the girl and if he wasn't there would be no reason to show her 5:He says "where is he?", this would normally be fine but the attention drawn to this goes nowhere. Again this was on my first viewing. I'm not nitpicking here these are problems big enough that me just sitting back and enjoying the fight stood out
I count 7.5 seconds between the doorbell ringing and the door getting kicked down. I think he did exactly what you described, just so he could easily take out the first guy before the fighting really started
You have to watch the movie to understand whats going on. I don't want to spoil it for you, but when you watch the movie this part makes sense. Also I can tell what's going on at the beginning of the fight it's not that confusing compared to some other action movies.
