I forgot there was a remake, and I never went around to playing it. My first impression is a roller coaster. Corneria: "Wow, the textures look great!" Sector Y: "Eew, you can see the ships pop in out of nowhere" Aquas: "This area is brighter than I remember, the colors really pop out" Zones: "WOW, this level looks a lot darker than I remember, but it looks great!" Sector Z: "Everything looks fantastic" Area 6: "The pop in is reeeallly noticeable." Venom: The Andross laugh hilariously doesn't match the animation"
The only real issue with this version is the new voice lines. They just generally don't carry the same weight, charm, or general cheesiness of the original...with Andross being the most blatant, as his original laugh was downright *inhuman!* The pop in is present in the original, it's just less noticable due to lower textures, blurrier screens, and more forgivable due to system limitations. But as a mostly faithful remake, they can't really do much about it.
I don't see why people hate the voice acting. It's really not that bad. Although i do like the N64 voices better, these aren't bad. People just aren't necessarily used to it. The Andross laugh though...
Andross laugh is bad, but people hate this game's voice acting because none of the actors sound like they give a shit about their roles. The reason everyone prefers the N64 version is because of how you could tell if a character was annoyed, nervous, frustrated, etc. on there, but on here it's just bad voice acting
@@codyknight3580 The thing about that is almost every voice actor is the same from 64. So if that's the case even they are tired of how Star Fox is being treated.
@@guardian8926 if that's the case, then they should have tried harder, because all this shows is that they don't really care about how the series has been treated and feel the same
@@codyknight3580 Honestly, people were able to compile and uncompress the original voice lines. If they just put those on the 3DS version instead it might work out better.
Too bad Slippy does not show the health gauges of the Star Wolf Team in Venom II and other All Range Modes. Only in Corridor Modes will Slippy do analyzed the boss's health gauge. Slippy: "Enemy shield analyzed" in Corneria in either path, Meteo, Sector X, Sector Y, Aquas, Zoness, Macbeth, and Area 6. Slippy: "Data analysis complete, here it come!" in Titania, Solar, and Venom I.
I don't like the speed run, like in Area 6, I might run into Peppy's ship, and Peppy gets mad and shouted, "Watch where you flying!" It can happen in some Corridor mode as well as in All range mode. That is occurred when Peppy is being chased by guided missiles. Also I have to save Slippy from one enemy near the end of the Area 6, otherwise Slippy will leave the level and into oblivion. You will have much time to save Slippy, so you can take out that enemy by using bomb, or when Slippy croaked, "Venom's right there!", use the booster to speed up and quickly locked in to that enemy and use charged up laser to destroy the butterfly shaped enemy fighter and save Slippy's ship.
RealmcopierSF64 I prefer to speed run this version since my n64 is pal making it 50 fps the run would be at least 5 minutes slower in comparison to the us & j versions and the 3ds is 60 fps in all regions. I do understand though i hate the voice acting "hey genius im on your side"*facepalm*
@@jrmcguire405 From what I understand the thing that makes the game especially bad is the voice acting. The voice actors don't sound like they give a shit, while in the original you could tell how the characters felt in each line of dialogue. I haven't played the version so the voice-over is the only massive complaint I've got

Yeah, the new Andross voice actor could've been much more creepier. :\

The original voices sounded more better like if it had a feel to it than the new one.
Andeross' s is evil laugh killed it for me
