"Flying Dutchman" recreation showcase - Planet Coaster

- Flying Dutchman is for me the best dark ride I have ridden. Even though it's mainly a coaster. I'm always impressed by how good the dark ride part is. Add to this the amazing theming of the whole queue line, station platform and outside and you have one great experience.
Because of this I wanted to tackle this as a Planet Coaster recreation. I didn't expect that it would be such a long and big project but here we are. About 130 hours of work spread over about a year and over 73k ingame pieces.
Note that the shore and height of the pathing is to high, partly because I miss calculated and partly because of the pathing limitations in the game. So you will see that 'De Kombuys' food court is way to high compared to the water. Something I noticed way to late in the project and couldn't fix anymore.

As someone who has done this ride probably over a 50 times, i can honestly say, what a wonderful job recreating de vliegende hollander. You did the ride justice, even with the limitation of the game. I have to praise your patience, making all this recreations with such detail is not something everyone has the endurance for.

Heel. Erg. Knap! What a masterpiece! I'm always amazed when I see results like these; it proves that you didn't give up even though it was a very lengthy project with probably quite some hurdles to overcome. Amazing work and really nice from that the Efteling that they've cooperated in helping you authorizing to use their incredible music.

De vliegende Hollander is altijd al mijn favoriete attractie geweest. En hij ziet er echt prachtig uit zeer mooi werk 😁
Ride Unlimited je moet is weten de Efteling wil hem juist weg hebben maar dan verliezen ze heel wat man net als de bob die willen ze ook al 5 jaar weg hebben en nu is i eindelijk weg ps was mijn lievelings attractie mis hem maar de vliegende Hollander kost heel veel om te runnen want er is bijna altijd storing of er doet iets niet snapje gwn weetje

@@gielluiten7688 efteling heeft nooit gewild dat de bob weg moest. Ze konden geen nieuwe materialen meer krijgen dus moest die hellaas weg gehaald worden.

I wish I had this much patience to make something this cool.
The ride is really short... I've been through a harsh time with this coaster been stuck on the lake for over 1 an hour. (Eventually got rescued by a row boat)
Theres alot of maintenace when i visit the Efteling.

I feel you because I got stuck on it too in 2018 when me and my family went lol we got stuck on the lift hill for about 20-30mins and a staff came up to us to tell us that we'll be fine and a while later it worked again and we finished the ride. when we reached the station it was so full and everyone there started clapping and cheering lol and then the manager (?) came up to us and told us we can go again right now without having to wait if we want and of course we said yes, we got to ride it twice hehe

Very nice work! Maybe you can recreate symbolica from the Efteling in the future? It has a lot of little detail so maybe it’s a nice idea
I don't like doing interiors in planco. Because of the bad lighting and no shadows. So I'm sadly gonna pass on that.

At the indoor section I kinda missed the boat light (I know that would be impossible in PC) but actually, it's very realistic without them because they don't work half the time anyway :D Great job!!
Indeed, the light makes a huge difference in the dark mist scene. But indeed not in planco
