Thanks for the feedback and support. The music out of Jamaica has a way of letting everyone know what's happening there at the time...glad I'm able to help out.
I came to your channel from a comment you left on Jamaica with Irie. I am so thankful! I have visited JA at least nine times, and I've learned more from this video than I have all the times I have been there! Many blessings!
Chisom Odimmegwa when yuh use ‘di class’ you are being specific to a certain class...where when she used ‘siddung inna class’ that was just a generalization...’did a bored’ doesn’t go...bored is more of an adjective there rather than a verb...that’s why it retains its standard English form. So example...Mi bored, yuh bored, dem bored...would be correct there.
I’m still having trouble with deh, i understand it when its spoken, but i know in my mind i would have never known to use it in a sentence. Like when you said wi deh pon a come up.... i wouldn’t have used it. I know its multiple ways to say one sentence. So I guess I’m always gonna be going around using deh as much as possible 😂. I’m gonna speak patwish, pathway with regular english lol. (I know pathway is english) Hope you get me lol. Mi still hav trouble wit deh, mi andastand when mi hear it, but mi no nuh how fi use it inna sentence, when yuh did seh (or when yuh seh?)“we deh pon a come up” mi did andastand, but mi nuh woulda use it like dat. Mi a go speak patwish, yuh see mi.
Deh actually a di toughest fi explain... Mek wi put when it mean "there" to the side...cause it can only mean dat wid a preposition in front a it or when yuh a point in a direction. Fi everything else...it mean yuh current state...so treat it like "am" when yuh a refer to yuhself and "is/are" when yuh a refer to others and objects. So...Wi deh pon a come up = We are on a come up So without over explaining...try fi use it da way deh an mek mi know if dat work better. Yuh write patwah really well...woulda only change di first "wit to wid" and "nuh woulda to wouldn" but it deh pon point.
@@Ramgoempire is a bit of a challenge explaining it too...i'm learning myself. But I have to correct the record...deh = am,is,are when it's not being used as there...I had said "at" earlier. That's why mi deh yah = i am here
Chat Patwah that makes complete sense!!!! 🤯 mind blown...I guess because we deh pon a come up makes sense as we there upon a come up...I never considered replacing it as are and is
Chat Patwah you’re a great teacher! I asked my friend to help me learn by just talking with me as I learn from you, and he said patwah can’t be taught...I beg to differ 🤗
Hi, I love lesson 11, Decoding Toast by Koffee. I just heard her being interviewed and the song Toast on Sirius xm last week. She is a talented young lady and is so down to earth and humble. Good for her!
The ones who try to communicate in standard English which is not the norm...other than that, at full speed and Jamaican proverbs and phrases with double meanings and play on words that I haven’t even touched yet, because if you don’t have the basics you’d be completely lost. Trust me...it will make sense in the end. Been using it for over 40 years.
Been binge watching this channel. Thanks so much for such great content with such an awesome delivery. Also I'm a big fan of this artist. Love the video too. Thanks again.

From wah me cyaan si, look like inna modern day patwah, di people dem use the english past tense instead of "did or did a"
