Narcissists test your boundaries and gradually, subtly drag you out of your comfort zone. Before you know it you're doing stuff you have no interest in doing, and wasting your energy. They also orchestrate situations which will cause you to show a lack of respect to yourself.
If you find yourself questioning why you're going along with something, or trying to convince yourself that something is actually enjoyable or good for you, you're being manipulated.
There are few feelings in the world more satisfying than removing a manipulator from your life.

@@beardedgladiator I saw clearer what manipulation truely is and also could decipher when it’s happening on purpose much clearer. It also allowed me to look at people around me, my friends and family and coworkers, and see why type of people they are. If they’re toxic people or not. It helped me offset people’s ability to manipulate me, and also in certain circumstances it helps me maneuver around peoples manipulation and argue or deal with a problem with them in a much more direct approach. I wasn’t focusing on unimportant information as much as I was and could more effectively come to an outcome with people I’m debating or arguing with.
      Very helpful book indeed

It's true. Us highly empathetic people can sure get crushed by manipulation tactics. Been there, done that. Not anymore. I've been used by so many people throughout my life that it would be depressing if I didn't come out of it knowing what to look for and how to stop it.
I prefer the "don't get mad, get even" approach. The last narcissistic woman that played with my heart got what was coming to her. Months of no eye contact, completely ignored her unless she talked to me, single word monotone answers if I even responded at all, not a single smile, and a constant sarcastic passive aggression. Years later and she still talks shit about me to people. Living rent free in that self serving little head of hers.
Coming from someone that used to let any and everyone walk all over them because I felt bad empathizing with their struggles and suffering, I think that's a major improvement. I am a little jaded after it all, but I'm aware of it and trying to get rid of, or at least reduce the presence of it.

This book, is one of those, that you feel like you are reading/listening some “defense against the Dark Arts” forbidden book… It can be used to go into the darkness, and if you do so, you need to be prepared, to change, and only those who may be prepared for it, can actually make something good from it,
But the knowledge can and It’s so Strong, that too many of those(if not all of those), who think they are powerful enough, to understand it, may be corrupted with that knowledge…
Because when you search/look for something, it means that you need or may need that, and that acknowledgement only comes in, when you understand It, because until you don’t understand it, you are still going to be that bastard, trying to manipulate or getting your arguments through out the world…
Learn, so you are prepared, but don’t try too much, because it won’t be helpful, the real knowledge, comes from within…

1:02:20 1st Strategy of Manipulation. Have a good relationship with them. Good Relationship test.
1:03:17 Ways on how to build a relationship with someone: 1. Match and mirrior the person body position. Copy their mannerisms.
    2. Have a discussion on common intrests. Talk about the things they care about. Asl them what they find interesting. What do they like to do?
Copy their intrest and behaviour in order to persuade them.
Invite people you hang with to come to the pool, party, play vollyball.
This is why kids are likely to easily interact with people who kneel to them or sit down to their level
People are more likely to befriend you when you share their passion.
How to handle someone with a boring personality:
Compliment them and help them. Invite them to do fun things together. After that then you can create inside jokes and develop a common intrest with them. Talk about the fun times you had together and then alter their personality.
If you encounter a group of people ask them how long have they been friends and ask where they met.
Also a next question to ask is what is their major and ask why did they choose it.
This is why it is important to be a life long learner.
1:07:04 Its not because the buyer likes the product, its because the buyer likes the seller. Understand the seller desires.
1:08:00 spend time doing the things they like to do and bond with them. Discuss politics, business, sports, history, whatever discussion they like. Ask people for favours when they are in their setting or favorite environment when both of you are spending time together

    • @davidrice9900

Funny thing about these tactics is - Most adults are perceptive enough to see them in play. The people that use these strategies make it very obvious that they are not interacting with you genuinely. They are too focused on using the strategies and gauging the reaction and response of the individual. Their body language, eyes, and demeanor set off red flags.
Even worse, being aware of and well versed in this pathetic practice, they end up being someone no one respects, while always being on either the offensive or the defensive while communicating with others. Which completely kills any chance of a fruitful connection with anyone at all.

I am a victim of some of this stuff... I was bullied in High School because I was different... I am still getting bullied now as an adult by a narcissistic assistant manager... He bullies, belittles and micromanages the few things that I do as it gets on my nerves so much to the point I want to knock the crap out of him but I don't I resist the temptation of that unless if he dares put his hands on me. However I do everything in my power to stay positive and calm as I started to ignore him however I am even questioning why they made him an assistant manager because he only has been working there for a year... I would rather be at a place for 4 years before I even think about a management position. He is also egotistical because his pride hurts when someone talks bad about him.

Dude I was recieving the same bullshit from an assistant manager realize that they benefit from your labor, they arent firing you so they are exploiting you, you are probably providing 3x your yearly value and the assistant managers job is to bellittle and make you feel small and weak enough to never realize you are worthy of a raise or rather working for a business that actually values you instead of supressing your wages to save money.

    • @Michael-cb3uw
      @Michael-cb3uw 2 года назад

QUIT i worked 4 years of low wage jobs its full of bullies thinking your overperformance will cost them their raise stupid incompetent assholes will hold you back for petty money quit that shitty enviroment for a better busier place.

    • @Michael-cb3uw
      @Michael-cb3uw 2 года назад +9

Return on interest, research why belittling and supressing wages benefits employers, learn about shareholders and companies running on quarter charts and bs unnatainable goals vs an actual company aiming for long term success.
Dont go for the companies that are always hiring because they are always firing. Tesla underpays their workers, the median is 55,000 Garbage wage. Tesla makes a shit ton of money off of busting unions and treating their priceless employees like shit. Im sorry dude but take your business elsewhere where you will be paid better dont go for the big names like tesla, tesla underpays, Go for someone that will overpay and take care of you and you will enjoy working for them

58:32 Different power figures. Some people like rich people, kind people, smart people, popular person, people with a good sense of humor, religion, their spouse. This is why it is important to develop a good self image. Just like micah and dutch. Once you control the power figure then you can control the group. This is why junior used tony soprano as a power figure, samething with trump and the republicans. Also with child support. Mother use child to control dad.
Befriend the people that the power figure cares about in order to get close to the power figure.

This is a bit too “keep it positive” agenda for me. I was hoping it would be more like a Robert Greene book. Anyone have any recommendations for something along those lines? I’m not looking to be a positive influence I’m trying to know and understand power and utilize it

58:12 Authoritive Declararive Strategy. Become their friend or best friend in order to influence them. Use your charm to influence them. Do things to make them see you as important in their life. Someone they care about.
Use of pity. Get someone to feel sorry for something. Or get them to be emotionally moved in a sad way.

I am a victim of house abuse, among other things. To say that being expose to a life like that gives a person a high probability of being like that. Wrong I in anyways will every expose a person to the abuse that I saw or heard being a child or adult. Please believe me I would be in prison if I had let my upbring dictate how I life now.
