- Pikmin 4 is here! And I'm recording my playthrough so I can chronicle my thoughts and reactions as they happen!
This is the penultimate episode, exploring deeper into the game's final area, taking on the last formidable Dandori challenges and clashes, and completing the final night mission! We're getting very close to the ending!

I love all the cooing over Moss this episode.
Also I imagine the reason that Moss didn't respond to Olimar's voice originally was probably because she needed to be close to hear the player's communicator. It's not like there's a built in megaphone in their wrist...
...which makes the entire pre-fight cutscenes super funny if true, because while you have a whole party demanding explanations and panicking on your side, from Louie's end both of you are just standing there awkwardly staring at each other for about a minute before you both get tired and go at it.
Fun fact about dandori battles; sneak bombs remove way less if the one getting exploded is behind. It's really only intended as a way for someone to catch up a bit more easily if they got unlucky so far.
Hey, when you do that piklopedia episode, you should also take at the voyage logs! It's easy to miss but Olimar and Louie's logs are added to throughout the game with new stuff which reminds me of the end of day logs from Pikmin 1.
You could also look at the logs from the shepherd family for some interesting lore on them! The game barely lets you know about this stuff but I think it's all worth looking at.

the beat of hesitation before scruffy did fawks's voice was just enough for the voice to catch me off guard and make me laugh out loud, man
this series is an absolute treat
The silence while he ruminates on a voice in his head makes the punch of the silliness hit so much harder

It could be voice modding, or he could be using his fingers to manipulate his lips the old-fashioned way. I'm inclined to believe the latter, personally.

Scruffy, with the moldy Dwarf Bulborbs: When you first saw them, a pop-up appeared commenting on only *throwing* Pikmin onto them causing poison. That's what happened in the Dandori Battle, when a Winged Pikmin attacked one and didn't get poisoned.
The penultimate episode... I'm not ready for it to be over, but I'm also so happy to see this journey from start to finish!! 😭💛

When I saw this in my feed I wanted to yell in happiness but I didn't want to alert my household so I was just silently cheering and clapping my hands like a weirdo lmao

The car pause was indeed, funny. Made me think of when a deer hears a Twig snap. Just freezes and looks.
Silly lil trivia: Nelle's first cutscene (and maybe another?) is the only time Oatchi doesnt squint their eyes at Moss, as when any other time out of a cutscene, the 'enemy' radius is set oatchi would squint at it.
(There might be others but idk! I think the end of mission cutscene does it also)
I am amazed that you beat that final night mission on your first attempt. That one took me the most attempts, and I resorting to using as many Glow Seeds as possible since I hadn't used any the rest of the game. The Baldy Long Legs is the biggest threat - it spawns relatively close to the orange Lumiknoll, and of course its usual weaknesses of Yellow or Winged Pikmin aren't present here. Ice Bombs and Lightning do definitely help, though.

cliff-hanger's hold ws the most annoying challenge for me... but whats more annoying is how this series is almost over!! im so sad to see it go but its been very fun while it lasted and i can see myself coming back to it many a time!

Looks like it’s almost over, this game looks like a very good experience.
It really is, I fully completed it two times already and I’m now doing a red onion only challenge. I can’t get enough of this game!

I feel like most of us who learned how to pronounce it watched that one episode of Cow and Chicken back in the 90’s
Wow that was a close one with that night expedition! Also LOVE all the voices you’ve been giving the castaways (and I love how it takes a few seconds to decide on a voice haha). Super talented at voice acting!
For the final episode it would be amazing to see the “In Memoriam” to be not just dedicated to the losses in the finale but to all Pikmin lost throughout the play through

So after you beat the final boss, their will be some new side quests that become available to you if you want to do them. So if you want to truly 100% the game, then come back even after you 100% the final area.
Collin’s voice is my favorite. Sounds like a Disney character.
1:06:12 I didn’t think I’d ever hear genuinely annoyed scruffy, especially with Olimar.
His annoyance is justified until you remember that Olimar spoke directly to Louie in Moss' presence and she didn't react
I think she only listened to Olimar once she stopped wanting to travel with Louie. She didn't want to leave Louie at first the same way she didn't want to leave Olimar
I looked up what the text on the lanterns was, and even though it's so simple, I was momentarily overwhelmed with emotion... that's beautiful

i'm both really excited for the next episode and dreading the series's end; if you would ever be interested in it, i know i'd love to see playthroughs of other games!

Wow, you actually managed to beat the final night mission first try? Granted, your lumiknoll took some serious damage, but what a clutch play! It took me a couple tries, mostly because of the Baldy Long Legs. That guy's probably the hardest night mission enemy.

If you do an extra video going over some stuff like the piklopedia and all that, I recommend talking to the three koppaites some more, cause each of them has a lot of dialogue

the popup at 1:15:25 has always been strange to me... i still dont know what actually prompts the message, does anyone know?
ok so from what i can gather, after oatchi nearly drowns (either from the mud or from before he could swim), he has some sort of cooldown where he won't get in the water or mud again for a bit, cause he been spooked lol. the first time you try to make him swim again during this cooldown will trigger the cutscene, and any time after that he just refuses to go in and needs to be called again. poor pupper!!
