I own this watch and a few expensive watches too, way bigger that MQ-24, but this watch is my love for its simplicity, easy wearingness and easy reading. This watch just gives me more than any other watch, can't really explain it.
Just got this watch today, its simplicity really drew my eye, I needed something straight forward and slim. Perfect fit! I don't need bells and whistles.
I had the black version and gifted to my father after he broke his mechanic its happy and it's great with dress shirts is really slim very discreet and modest does the job easy to read. Just wished it had a date window.
I really enjoy your videos and this one imparticular was the final push to get me to buy this watch. I just now checked and crazy as it sounds, this model is STILL the #1 seller in Japan (albeit in a different color way) four years later. Great watch and great review. Thank you.
I have my third watch also and am very satisfied. Only reason why I had to buy a new one was a broken watchband, but no big deal for 14,50 €. Greetings from Coburg, Germany.
When I was forced to stop using watch series 3, I decided to buy and wear this cheap and affordable Casio (although I preferred helevetica version). Later I came back to smartwatch, more complete and useful, but this Casio had a piece of my heart. Simple, sober, pure.
We have the same bony wrists - I never wear anything over 36 mm. This Casio’s great. For the longest time, I thought it was the Steve Jobs watch until Seiko rereleased the Chariot back in 2017.
It hits the minute markers better than the Swiss Army cavalry I have! That was the first thing I noticed while Dave was going through the review. I've seen other reviews where the sec hand misses the markers so it can be hit or miss, but for what you're paying, this watch has a built-in excuse the more expensive Swiss ones don't. This watch also reminds me of a field watch I picked up at a Daiso store in Tokyo for 500 yen (basically under $5). Until I picked up a Casio multiband 6 G-shock, it was the most accurate (and cheapest, too, I think) watch in my collection. That'll make you think for a little bit..
I lost mine yesterday and immediately ordered a new one. This is a good minimalistic watch. The only downside is the crystal - or rather acrylic glass.
I have one of these watches and have owned it for about 2 years. I wear it regularly. It is supposed to be just "splash proof" - it's way better than that. I have swam and had baths wearing this watch every day for 2 years and never, not even slightly has water got into the watch. Honestly if you dived with this watch I think it would be fine, but that's just my opinion. Strong as a g- shock in my view. The reason I say that, from experience - you will break your arm your wearing this on before you break the watch.
@@Altoseb Nah, perhaps not. But what made g-shock so resistant is the fact that it is quartz. There is no screws or gears that would fuck up upon impact on quartz watch.
A watch that I like even better than my g shocks and citizens watches and cheap but reliable just the watch for the job. The colour black and cream so simple and easy to read. My citizen watch and Casio g shocks sit in my room while this takes all the wrist time.
There are just some models from casio that they will always produce the mq24 was first seen in the 1989 catalog so they been pumping these babys out for 31 years now as long as I've been alive which is why I own one as well. Although mine is the one with the black face with gold hour markers
I have it in 1999,till I gave it too my Granddaughter (21 yro) a WSU, Environmental Ecological Study’s! Then I bought another for Me ! ❤ it have it on now ! I think? So light ! & fun !
one pro I found hiking with it is that it's super comfortable and so lightweight, so if you're trying to shave weight off your walks, it has that going for it. As long as you don't trip and hit it on a rock it should be fine, ruggedness-wise
4 years later and you are up to 117,000 subscribers. Well done.

Fascinating and seems great in it's simplicity. Everything you need, and nothing you don't. Merry Christmas!
Yeah, I knew there must be something to it when I saw train station employees wearing it. It's insane how close they stick to the schedule.

Mario Rafael Check out Casio MW597b. It has the same simple design and a date window)

What a great watch. Love the simplicity and being so slim probably wouldn't catch on things.
Use this watch in a daily basis & is just awesome so simple very clean look & so comfortable to use simple cheap and precise what you can ask more ...

the seconds hand on this casio is more consistent than swiss made quartz watches i've seen

I think Casio is often a little modest in rating their watches.
Strong as a G Shock? Hyperbole much

Clean and simple - very well said. It’s fun to wear this one.
I know it goes against the theme of this watch... but if it had a backlight, even a cheap one, this watch would be almost perfect.
Better than watching the time on your cellphone
Agree 💯. Get this watch and keep the phone in your pocket.
I love Japanese simplicity
Best selling because it's cheap....🙂 Currently £8 in the UK. That's crazy for it's accuracy.....

Have you tried the MW240? Its the larger version of this watch which works well for larger wrists priceD around $10
Haven't yet, it's a little intimidating just how many casio models are out there. Probably my next one will be jumping up to the G-Shock dw-5600.
Great watch. Better than the MQ24 cheap garbage.
My battery just died after like 2 years. It hurt a little because it has been with me through so much.
change the battery then
Fun fact Pope Francis wears this watch daily.
it actually is a Swatch Twice again which is very similar to the MQ 24.
@@Audioholic85 the band on the pope’s watch definitely indicates it’s a Casio MQ-24 not a Swatch, but it’s the version with smaller numerals
No! Pope Francis's model is MQ-24-7BLL. ALL SO‼️.
@@楯無-n6rYes, I've seen in the pictures that the Pope wears on with the bigger fonts. You have the correct model number.
Superb video and review. Just ordered mine from Amazon USA.
Casio's analogue seconds hands do have somewhat of a spotty reputation. Great lookin watch for the price, though.
I love this watch, I only wish for date function and glow in dark hands.
Casio MW-59 is basically the same watch with a date window.
Also the watch: Swatch - Say Again
The watch liht in night because i work in night and i do not see the time ???????
This one doesn't have any light after dark, sorry!

You're looking for a DW5600 then
Yes as it's basically a disposable watch....😁
Do you still spot this watch on Japanese wrists?
Yup!
You are a very good vlogger!!
I got this watch after both my digital Casios broke off from the strap. The case broke off.
The Clarence Kennedy watch, IYKYK
