What an unusual but gorgeous song choice... but Diana seems to know instinctively what suits her voice. I am always overwhelmed by how beautiful, pure and clear her voice sounds in the high registers and with her soulful interpretation she touches my heart and shivers run through my body.
But I also wanted to know who the original singer was, and I came across a person with a wonderful voice and an exciting biography, almost a script. You should definitely listen to her.

Anna German (Polish: Anna German-Tucholska, German: Anna Hörmann)
She was a pop singer with a delicate, bell-like voice.
- She was born in 1936 as the child of a Russian-German Baptist preacher in Soviet Uzbekistan.
- The grandfather was killed in 1921 by the ruling regime.
- The father was shot by the Stalin regime in 1937 as a "Polish spy". The little brother died. Grandmother, mother and daughter were banished and life on the run began. In 1943 the mother married a Polish officer who was killed in action against the Germans.
- In 1946 his mother was allowed to emigrate to Poland as a war widow.
- In Wroclaw (Breslau) Anna German studied geology (diploma 1961). During her studies she pursued her singing career and won national and international competitions. She won awards and in 1963 a music scholarship. She studied singing in Rome for a few months.
- In 1964 she made her debut in Moscow. Belgium followed. After these tours, a record was released that got the whole of Europe talking about Anna German.
She has performed in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Europe and Mongolia. She has won prizes at well-known national and international festivals.
- In 1967, the German suffered serious injuries in a car accident in Italy. She has to be cared for for two years.
- In 1972 she married the engineer Tucholsky Zbigniew and at the age of 39 she had a son.
And in 1972 began her great popularity in the Soviet Union. She sang in many languages, and if German was the language of her childhood, Russian is almost a second mother tongue for her.
Anna German's life is inextricably linked to the former Soviet Union. She was born there, she was and is loved there like a native.
Despite the tragic events in her life there, she loved this country.
The singer sincerely tried to bring the cultures of Poland and the USSR closer together.
Anna German's voice is a powerful lyrical coloratura soprano with an unusual, transparent, high timbre.
Famous masters of the musical genre, Oscar Feltsman, Arno Babadzhanyan and other composers wanted to write only for them. Her songs in Russian were distinguished by great warmth, sincerity, melody and melody.
On today's stage you will hardly find a singer with such a penetrating and femininely sensual voice as Anna German. Their songs have not collected any dust to this day.
But her heart beat even more for Poland, the country to which she owed almost everything.
