    Tamarind chutney also known as Imli Chutny, meethi chutney, is a popular condiment used in the preparation of chaat foods and also often served with snacks like samosa, kachori, golgapa, pani puri and pakoras. This sweet & tangy tamarind chutney is extremely flavorful and tastes delicious.
    Imli /Tamarind/Tamarindo - 50 grams
    Water/Agua - 4 tbsp
    Oil/Aceite - 1 tbsp
    Cumin Seeds/Semillas de comino - 1/2 tsp
    Asafoetida/Asafetida - 2 pinch
    Jaggery/Gud/Panela - 50 gms
    Sugar/Azucar - 2 tbsp
    Red Chilli Powder/Chile Rojo en polvo - 1 tsp
    Coriander Powder/Cilantro en polvo - 1/2 tsp
    Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp
    Pepper Powder/Pimienta en polvo - 1/2 tsp
    Salt as per taste/ Sal al gusto
    Black Salt/ Sal negra - 1/2 tsp
    Method:
    • Soak tamarind in hot water for 30 minutes
    • Make fine paste of tamarind
    • With the help of strainer strain the paste, it will remove any residues.
    • Add 4 tbsp of water
    • On low flame place pan and add oil
    • When oil is hot add cumin seeds, asafoetida, tamarind paste, mix and later add jaggery
    • Mix well and cook
    • Add sugar, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala, pepper powder, salt, black salt
    • Mix well and cook until thick
    • Cook until glossy and thick
    • Mithi chutney is ready
