Thanks for exhibiting all of the great attributes of this fine guitar. As someone who owns this exact guitar (tho mine has a maple fretboard), I salute you! You can shred
When you put stronger stings on the Fender with tremolo, you need to open the rectangular plate on the back of the guitar, then using a Philips screwdriver, screw the 2 wood screws further into the body. Just a few turns should do the trick, but check your tremolo bar after each turn.
Whoever is doing the intro-outro music has listened to a little Ry Cooder I would guess. This is a super guitar as well. It's hard to believe that a Strat could be improved upon very much but in my humble opinion this model has been done so significantly. They feel almost otherworldly.
The amp is a PRS Dallas 4x10 from their Custom Audio Design department. It has some magic "Derek Trucks" mods. We love this amp and use it for a lot of our demos. Turn the highs and gain up with a Strat and you get a very authentic SRV tone ( see some of our vintage Strat demos for that sound )
I agree!! Great modern enhancements that ADD (to your liking) to that classic strat sound. I bought this guitar recently and have no interest to "turn back" to any older models. It's got the goods and it brings it every time I get up on stage
I have a modded US Strat Deluxe I picked up for a steal that had had the pickups changed and a slight 'fake relic' monstrosity. I initially wasn't sure the the compound radius and slight wider nut made it 'stratty' enough as it felt a little different to a standard 9.5 neck… felt closer to a more modern 'shred' neck in a way. But before long I found it to be the most playable Strat-style guitar I've encountered. Love mine
Great playing it is unfortunate that so much of the demo was spent using the worst sounding switching options on this model. With a couple of bad tone positions I'd never use I still am looking to buy one of these.
I have a 2008. The S-1 switch wiring is much different pre 2010. Doesn't matter. I could never remember the wiring pattern, but you remember the tones. I use 2 of the 5 new tones a LOT. Hardly ever turn the switch off.
You use the S-1 Switch? I cannot find any useful tones out of it, or maybe I just have not given it the chance. Either way I have the 2006 model and it is a fantastic guitar! The one with the Samarium Cobalt noiseless pickups. They sound fantastic.
@@MrDream-zm1pw Depends on the song, but I use position 1 and 4 with the S-1 switch on, quite a bit. 1 for lead 4 for rhythm. Tone knobs down a bit, at 8. Volume at 9- up to ten for solos. Little chorus, little reverb. Fits nicely tone wise with the guitars other guitarist's I play with use. Thin, noisy single coils and thick humbuckers. I have the noiseless pickups as well. Do love em straight. Regular 5 positions do sound good but a little more tame than a vintage strat pick up. Little warmer. I bought a noise reduction unit for my pedal board before I decided on which Strat to buy, or even knew Fender made a noiseless pickup. Gave it away. They really are noiseless.
@@MrDream-zm1pw Of course the amp I run it through adds it's own flavor. Yours will to. Fender Blues Jr tube with treble & mids 3/4, bass 1/2 way. I usually play clean with vol/preamp at 3-4 , master/gain however loud I want it. I get some crunch by turning vol to 7 or 8. Master gain down, it gets very loud very fast. Never played in a room big enough to turn everything up to 12. Yes it goes to 12 I swear :-)
Man! You can demo the hell outta some gear! Where did you learn to play and how long? I have an Amer. Delx. with an ash body and maple neck. A thing of beauty, though I can't play for beans yet.
Mine came with sharp edges on the 5 th fret and the truss rod adjustment screw just the second time that i used it sweept , (i love the sound though!!) , my mexican strat came with no issues at all.
my dad (who had changed so many pups on strat 40 years ago) swapped the n3 s of my dlx out for original 57/62. There is no issue to install them despite the S1 system if you take care to notify all the circuit on a paper and with some patience =)
s1 is useless for me. N3's have cool noiseless tone but missing the modjo you could get with seymours or cs pickups for example. I bought mine 1000 so it's not an issue to change pups. Great guitar anyway with all you can expect for an american strat. I change the block saddles with callaham bent steels. Sounds "vintagier" now. If I had to buy my axe new I would had go for a standard because I don't really care of s1 system and locking tuners and pay the extra bucks for a selected alder...well I don't know. Anyway I bought it for 1000 in extra condition so what should I complain for? tell me haha
Got a 2009 the other day, it had never been played and been under the guys bed for a decade. He said, I'll give you a really good deal. I smiled and said I'll give you 650. He said, how bought 8, I smiled again and said I'll give you 650.
How do you know what switching system you have? fender guides on the site say the control works different than you do. They dont have all three working, you do because of this magic switch that you say is great but dont tell anyone where it is or how to use it.
You might like that amp but to my ears it just sounds all wrong. Maybe it doesn't record well or something but it doesn't represent that guitar's sound properly.
The problem with the tone in this video has more to do with the fact that what you are hearing is from the camera mic or an overhead rather than a close mic against the grill of the amp. It's hardly a good representation of what the amp sounds like. As far as the amp is concerned, it looks boutique. As far as noiseless pickups are concerned, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, David Gilmour and even Yngwie Malmsteen(not a particularly good example) use them. If it's good enough for the "guitar gods" it's probably good enough for you.
You still can't base a judgement on the sound of this video. If the amp was properly mic'd it would be a lot easier to make a call. As it is, even if they are using a Rode on that camera or boom, it's capturing more of the room than the actual amp tone. From what I can hear, there is plenty of spank coming from those pickups. You just can't get a feel for the mid range at this distance. The quality of the room treatment is a huge factor.

need some help!! just put 11's on my deluxe fender strat, now the tremolo is sitting ridiculously high, is this normal? do I need to put more springs in?
Hey there, Thanks for watching our videos, and for reaching out! Yes it is normal, no you do not need more springs. Just tighten the two screws at the top of the springs. you need to learn how to adjust your trem. two point trem work best with the bridge parallel to the best. What I mean is you raise the front two pivet screws until the bridge is parallel to the body while the back floats off the body. so it'll float but still be parallel. then use the saddles and microtilt for fine action adjustments.
Everyone loves to hear famous and classic riffs when someone demos a guitar. But your constant lightning and generic shreds got boring, very quickly. Except for the newbs on this thread.
wow that rose wood looks like shit. Don't like the noiseless pups. the standard usa strat with the fat 50s sounds much better. the s1 bullshit is exactly that bullshit
you don't know jackshit about these pickups except what you're hearing in this poorly recorded video. I actually own this guitar and the pickups kick ass. S1 switching and all.
those pickups are great for versatility. They sounds great, but since I swapped them out for original 57-62 on my deluxe I understand why they're not so appreciated. A bit too modern for the vintage or original strat tone chaser. 57/62 are a lot more dynamic and "straty". A matter of taste
+Remy Chantal I played an American Standard, followed by a USA Professional, followed by a American Special, then followed by an American Deluxe... then my wife (who knows little to nothing about guitars, but has a decent ear for tone) asked me why the Deluxe costs so much, because it sounds like trash. I was in complete agreement. Everyone has their own taste, but when comparing the $1800 Deluxe vs a $600 USA Professional... I thought the USA Prof blew the Deluxe away in terms of sound. The N3s just don't have the mojo (in my opinion).
Thanks for exhibiting all of the great attributes of this fine guitar. As someone who owns this exact guitar (tho mine has a maple fretboard), I salute you! You can shred

Got a 2011 model of this for $1100 in mint condition aside from a few minor scratches on the back. Such a joy to play!
I have this guitar, but with a maple board. Its like heaven with melted butter on top.

Bryan L. Also makes me not want the newer ones which don't seem to have the same S1 configuration.
Great guitar I do have one myself and have to say it’s a beautiful thing

Im in love with strats and this guitar just has such an awesome tone.
always good to tell us what amp you are going through,
and a word about the noiseless pickups would have been good
ps: that boy can play...
Has to be my favorite video of yours! The lick between 2:07 and 2:16 had me choked up!
Great playing, great tone, great review. Top stuff.
Hey this is my guitar, well its just like mine I have the exact same one and its Awesome !
Great playing it is unfortunate that so much of the demo was spent using the worst sounding switching options on this model. With a couple of bad tone positions I'd never use I still am looking to buy one of these.
The HSS deluxe with roller nut and no string tree, staggered locking tuners is on my wishlist.
Looks and sounds awesome! Recently settles for an american special and I like it a lot. Perhaps one day I'll trade up for one of these

very versatile guitar
excellent demo

I prefer the white plastic tip on the tremolo bar. I wonder can one be put on this axe?
Awesome player

Those two issues should be fairly simple to rectify, particularly the protruding fret.

I agree with you there. I'm not making excuses for however it was okay'd to be released from the factory like that.
What year is this model. I have the SCN pickups on my 2006, with an entirely different set of S1 options.
great play
beautiful guitar
great tone..great guitar.. great playing.......but what is your guitar model number....didnt found even on searching
Thanks for the video!
What did you mean by the neck pick up being out of phase in that position?
Fuck i love his beard and hair
awesome guitar

The switch is a little button on top of the volume knob. You just push it in
Anyone know what the differences are between the Deluxe and the new Pro's?
Don't like the amp, it's too thin sounding and squeeky bright.
oh yes!! thats no amp
Dude you resemble Duane Allman.
I got a deluxe model from 2004 which sounds way better and the S1 switching makes more sense. This S1 wiring configuration sounds not good to me.
how much?
