My favorite thing is waiting until they need a good watering, drenching them in pest spray in the shower, letting them sit for about 5 mins, then giving them a long room temperature soaking to water and clean everything up. Works like a charm!
You always inspire me to get up off my butt and do my plant chores. Thanks to you I got my string of hearts propagation potted up. So glad you are feeling better. Thanks for the video. 💚🌿🪴🌱💚
Your videos are so relaxing to me, especially the plant chores ones, you just have such a chill vibe :) there's something about watching people repot plants hahaha.
I was just recently inspired to become a plant mom. I got a few beginner plant I look forward to be more experienced and learn how to care for them. Thanks for your video I enjoyed it. ❤ also I been exercising and meditating every day so it was inspiring too.
Loved this one! Great reminder for pest prevention this time of year. Definitely gonna play this one again in the background as I spray the heck out of my plants in the coming days 😂
Oh Fern, what a sweet surprise! It’s so beautiful to see you and your green babes enjoying sacred plant rituals together and soaking up the therapeutic goodness of our Sacred Leaf Tonic! We love you and wish you a beautiful beginning to fall 🍁 bug virtual hugs, Karina and Team SE
Hiya love to see your looking so well just back from work nothing better than watching one of your planty videos thankyou keep them coming we all love you💕
I'm in the states in southern Indiana and our night temps are dropping to the mid 50s (though it's one the upper 80s during the day!) I feel like I definitely need to bring in the plants that I have outside (especially the ones that can go dormant). Your video encouraged me to start the process and take it in steps so it's not so overwhelming! Love your videos and glad you're doing better! Continue to take care of yourself!
@@AW-tv6nq hello neighbor! I have mixed emotions about summer ending and fall beginning...definately good parts to both seasons. I mostly just hate the inevitable winter that follows fall 😒
I’ve got another month until plants need to come in for winter but I do a deep clean of my house before they come in so I’m thinking about starting in soon. Frosty mornings will be here before we know it.
Hi, Fern! My goodness, I cannot believe Fall is approaching! Have to prepare my houseplants as well. I also have so many outdoor plants that need to come indoors and I literally have no room!😳🪴♥️🍂🍁🌾
This video was so relaxing. I can’t wait for Spooky Repot videos!!! I’m already in the spooky season spirit and have been trying really hard not to put up my Halloween decorations just yet. I’m running out of will power 😅🎃🍂🎃🍂
Loved this Fern!!! I’ve always loved your El Choco Red (even now that you had to start over with it) and I finally got one this week. Hopefully I can keep it happy and get it to thrive for me 💚💚💚
I LOVE your videos!!! I think you're adorable and I love your energy!... I recently purchased some new plants after watching one of your videos! 🤣🤪 Thank you for making these informative videos! 😁
This is my first year trying integrated pest mgt for the fall at least. It’s definitely more expensive than chemicals but I think my plants are doing better so far. I’m not buying too many plants at the moment so it works out for me.
I moved into my college dorm recently and I could only bring some of my plants with me (the rest are safe at home with mom), but my heart has been missing all of the fun planty projects !!!! I'm yearning to start a project!!
This has been a difficult summer for me as well, so I'm also trying to get my crap together right now. Always appreciate your videos to watch while I do 💚
I decided to spray some Captain jacks today just for good luck. I never really had pest issues. And if they look suspicious they go on to other planty friends.
I’ve been in the process of bringing all my plants in that were on my covered porch. Some did well , some at different points I realized that they should come back in so I’m very interested on your take !!
I had no thought of the need to do a preventative spray this fall. But If you think of it, the bugs try an come in when it starts getting cool. So it goes without saying that plant pests would too. Thank you. I’ll be starting to spray my plants this next Monday. Again thank you. And this video is amazing as well as very informative.
I love all the Halloween decorations in your apartment!! I live in Texas so it’s going to be a WHILE until it’s not sweltering hot out but I can’t wait for spooky season 👻
Had some plants in a plastic shade house ( it's to hot here to put it in the sun) for the first time. Saw some amazing growth on some of them, others couldn't say. The nights here in Boise, Idaho are starting to drop into the lower fifties so got them inside before it went below approx. 60. Am giving some away by putting up a free sign and placing some infront of my house. Started mail ordering for the first time this Spring and didn't put the brakes on until to late. Haven't tried to sell any yet, but like to think the ones I give away get good homes. Hope you keep posting videos even if the trend is for "shorts," and the plant craze is slowing up. Would hate to have to say good by. Your life is precious to your viewers like me.
Not to freak anyone out but after summer outside my fairy castle cactus acquired a family of earwigs :) When I brought him back I noticed one, so I gave him a bath to shoo any others out and I counted 20 :))) it was a smallish cactus living in a 6 inch pot so you can imagine my reaction. Earwigs are harmless to people but I know some people don't like them so you know... Just be aware.
I’ll have to watch again, because I’m working & was trying to comment in the live chat. 😅 I love fall & in Tacoma it’s already getting crispy in the mornings! 😍
I'm so happy u r doing better, and excited for fall! I love fall too, it's my favorite season ❤️ For the spooky repot videos if u run out of stories u can always do a story from the podcast And that's why we drink. I think I remember u saying u listen to it, if u don't u should check it out, it's really good!
Hi Fern, I'm loving your laid back vlogs. I definitely can't wait for spooky story season and as I'm in the UK I would really like to hear some famous American spooky stories. Give Olive a hug from me 🤗🤗
Really needed this reminder to get on top of things... overnight temps here have been hovering around 60, but I have to have things in order BEFORE that first cold night comes! Winter (fall) is coming... 😬
I always like that the plant folks in cooler areas start their Fall 🪴 prep so early, so I can follow y’all’s leads 😂 In Houston, we’ll continue with the 80-90°+ F temps for at least another month if not longer, so I’m not bringing my outside plants in quite yet. Def need to be on top of the pest management though and I’m currently out of Cactus Jack, fungicide, Neem, everything seems to have run out simultaneously 🙄lol
oh my gosh, my monstera was producing a lot of nectar and then i noticed scale 😭 it doesn’t have that many leaves, so taking care of scale is totally fine, and it wasn’t overtaken when i noticed, so it’ll probably be fine, but it’s still so upsetting to find pests lol
I was recently repotting some plants from outside and I didn't even think about critters being in them. Well, as you can guess, I was repotting one and accidentally dumped a lizard in my sink! Luckily i was able to catch it and release it back outside, but now I am extra cautious and wary.
Not as excited about autumn as you. I have SAD and the shorter days and bone chilling cold just not good for my mental health. Pleased that you and others enjoy it, however. Maybe some of your good vibes will rub off on me. I have to move the plants off the window sills closer to the interior of the rooms so they don’t get too cold on chilly nights. Only have two outside, an agave and sticks on fire and will get those in by the end of the month. Thanks for all your fun videos. Always feel better after watching you and usually learn something along the way. Sympathise with your mental health concerns and glad you are doing better.
Aloes get extensive root systems pretty quickly. However, with aloes (and most succulents) you can actually cut the roots as much as you want and make it fit a different pot. I just would avoid watering for a week or 2, but succulents really aren't fussy about their roots being cut back.
I have brought all my plants inside already.. I am in Ontario.. Last year my cactus brought in mealy bugs and it took forever to get them under control. I look forward to trying your tonics. Thanks for another wonderful video 🌿💚 oh and as you repotted your spikey aloe I kept waiting for earwigs to crawl out! 😨
I am slowly preparing my plants to ve brought back indoors for the cold season. I def have accrued plants over the summer and popped them outside on my balcony. Any suggestions on grow lights that serve a large surface area properly? I have a few lamps but that are only good for a shelf or table top. (I now have a much larger monstera lol).
I made a video in tiktok how i clean my leave with milk and water This is how i clean my leaves Milk contains calcium, vitamin B, natural sugars, and beneficial proteins that encourage growth and promote health in plants. Milk can be used as a natural fertilizer and/or pesticide. Milk can help fight against leaf viruses, aphids, and fungal diseases and is a great way to clean plant leaves. And my leave looove it i have few leave yellowin and it stop and my leaf shine 🥰🥰🥰
How do you know how much to spray without choking them out?? I had aphids on my herbs a little while ago and drenched them in neem and the croaked overnight. It was a neem oil mixture and ever since I only do like one spray and wipe it with a moist towel after so it probably does nothing 😅
Ooh I've never heard of floral nectarines being produced by the plant to attract ants but it makes so much sense! I always wondered about the sticky stuff left behind in all my plants that have had a major infestation of spider mites and thought it was made by the mites. Silly me, this explains a lot. I had a question about the bottle watering of your moss poles, how do you know when it's fully saturated without the water actually getting to the pot? I'd like to try this, my poles dry out way too quickly but I'm worried about root rot :s
Honestly I just kind of wing it. I know the poles well enough by now to have an estimate of how much water they can absorb. Just trial and error and keeping a close eye really. Also I usually try to pair fully saturating the moss poles with when the plant is due for water, that way it's okay if it goes into the pot. Then I just leave it over the sink or tub to drain.
You are such a beautiful vibe, Fern 😍😍 I think you could post any type of video, and I would watch it 🙈😅🤷🏻♀️ Is it the sacred leaf your spraying with…? And do you also use the sacred soil stuff…? All love from Denmark
It usually doesn't, but for some reason it did the last time I used it. I think because I had it sitting pre-mixed for awhile and the oils kind of clumped up.
Clean leaves are the cure for pests. I swear by it❤
I can’t stop staring at your dragon scale, it’s so beautiful!!
My favorite thing is waiting until they need a good watering, drenching them in pest spray in the shower, letting them sit for about 5 mins, then giving them a long room temperature soaking to water and clean everything up. Works like a charm!
good for you, Fern! Love the reminder to refocus on healthy loving habits. plants look great. peace!

great tip to make it enjoyable, I dread pest control but I enjoy a nice cup of herbal tea and admiring my plants :)
