From that clip, I’m thinking there was no recognition. He was just some bearded guy who walked in with some cameras, asked some really pointless questions, and ordered some donuts. Could have been anyone.
Even the crew was bad! Notice how all the shots have crew and filming paraphernalia in them, making it obvious how cornered the workers are. Compare that with the Walz footage.
"Okay" is an inappropriate response. It's weird and awkward. It means, "I asked not because I care, but for a photo op. No matter what Vance does, his inner creepy comes oozing through. Ew.

Yeah, it didn’t look like a local news crew filmed this. With Vance being so socially awkward, one has to wonder how he ever won a senate seat in the first place. Someone needs to write a book called What’s the matter with Ohio? piggybacking off the book What’s the matter with Kansas? It’s astonishing how red state voters more often than not, vote against their own best interests.
Vance comes in, announces who he is and starts interrogating, it's forced. I didnt see any smiles. Walz walks in says we were in the neighborhood, talks about the place of business, shakes one guy's hand and then while continuing to chat shakes the other employees hands. No interrogating, no awkward pauses. I see lots of smiles, employees seem happy to interact. Just my opinion, but Tim Walz appears to be a happy guy, JDVance not so much. Warm fuzzy vs cold suit.

J D Vance treats his security guys like sh^t, just like he treats everybody else. Or else he gives them the "We're all bros" routine, which makes them want to puke. WE may be bros, Vance, but you aren't.
After watching Walz, you know he picked the place because he likes the food. After watching Vance you're not even sure he knows what a donut is. It's in question now.
This was an "unforced error" by the Trump/Vance campaign. Why did they go through with sharing such a painfully awkward encounter? Did they not call ahead to the donut shop to at least let the staff know who was coming, and that cameras would be rolling?
Keep these coming. America needs to see every possible instance of these inept clowns. Unfortunately with dRumpf, security and his more astute handlers know he'd never come out on top in one of these videos.

@@henryhill3778 "Now you see why JD went to Harvard and Tampon Tim didn't." - First, no, I don't see why (or even HOW) Vance went to Harvard. He seems to have astoundingly low intelligence. Second, calling Walz, "Tampon Tim", and thus reminding people that he stands for helping women, rather than vilifying them, probably won't help your cause too much. But please, keep talking and showing everyone that your intelligence level is right there with Vance.
She said two times she did not want to be filmed, and they kept right on filming. We have a VP candidate who doesn’t know the meaning of the word CONSENT. 🙄 Remember that.
I'm not pro Vance but isn't this kind of standard? They obviously got permission from the shop before to record. They said they'll censor her face. I don't see a problem here. It's pretty routine stuff
The strangest part of this donut horror flick is that Vance’s campaign team ACTUALLY posted it!!! Did they just automatically upload it without viewing it first?! Has Vance ever actually spoken to someone in ANY social setting besides at work? Has he ever actually bought a donut in his life before?!!!!
And even after they added the blur, they forgot to do it in every frame. You see her face in profile several times on the edge of the frame -- when the camera operator, perhaps, thought he didn't have her on screen, but every time she bent forward to move the box or grab some donuts she was back on screen.
Imagine what their typical thinking must be, and how highly they must think of themselves, if they actually believe that this made Vance look good. It's no wonder they're badmouthing the Harris/Walz campaign. The level if genuine happiness and excitement showed by and for Harris/Walz is so foreign to them, they simply can't believe it's real.
No shame in Walz game. White socialist eating his German sandwich 😮 FYI, Relatives of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz are showing support for former President Trump, as evidenced by a photo circulating online
2:02 That's the difference: Tim Walz is relatable, genuine, and humane. JD Vance doesn't understand what normal is--he's unrelatable, awkward, and just plain WEIRD!
You can see it in the fact that one person makes people say “I don’t want to be on camera” and the other makes the entire kitchen come out to say hi. One said “I’m running for vice president” and the server said “ok”. The other barely had a word out before the server said “I’m a huge fan”. Pretty stark contrast.
It's funny because being really awkward is relatable to a lot of people... but that's not the thing we want to relate with I want to see somebody overcome their awkwardness not get buried in it.
@@Omni0404I think the fact that JD Vance is so arrogant and judgemental towards others means that he will not get any sympathy for being awkward. I am not sure why this was released for the public to view as he did not show any curiosity about the workers or the shop.
What his incident tells me is that weirdo Vance has probably never been to a zoo, never been to a circus, and never ordered donuts at a donut shop, and all these things come out as the perfect mess in this visit 😂 It's like he's an alien from another planet who has heard of these things, but obviously doesn't know how to relate to them.
I love good old southern African American shade 😄. That “Ok” from good sis means, “I’m not impressed with nothing you saying. You came to MY job to bother me. What doughnuts do you want?”
Gosh - not every interaction needs to be a publicity stunt! If she didn't want to be filmed, turn off the cameras or go somewhere else. When someone politely says they don't want to be filmed, and you film them anyway - that's an a*hole move
Also just a wild move to post that willingly and not as an embarrassing leak. These types of videos are made specifically to make the candidates seem approachable and liked. The moment she said that, the video should’ve become PR unusable. Also, just as a curtesy when someone asks that. We don’t know the at lady’s life. She might have a stalker who can find her now. Give her privacy when she asks for it. God, how many ways can these guys show their disrespect for women?
Right off the bat, Walz is warm, apologetic, shaking hands, smiling, dad mode. It’s the authenticity. He is sincere, he is the person you’d want to get and give big bear hugs to. He just exudes warmth and kindness. Vance is a POS who looks disgusted to be there. People can tell.
@@ricardotrevil3603 Yeah sure. Small talk is small talk no matter how you slice it. Some people are skilled at it, others aren't. Tim Walz makes people feel seen and heard. Whether he actually genuinely cares or not is between him and God. But yes, if you're somehow pointing out that he is more skillful interacting with people than JD Vance is... That's exactly the point.
Even in Ohio, Vance will be a one term wonder. Were I the person who lost out to him (barely), I think I would run against him a second time unless a better option to run against him comes up. Vance certainly won't be vice-pesident, so he will be finishing the term where he has done absolutely nothing for anyone but himself.
Omg I can’t even get through the entire video without feeling IMMENSE second hand embarrassment. Like I hate seeing people get humiliated but JD Vance has shown his true colors, and I’m glad to see the employees, especially the black woman not having it. Like we heard what you said about black farmers, “black” jobs and those DEI programs you think we’re unqualified for. He’s nothing but a wolf, in wolf’s clothing.
Funny thing is, DEI essentially was what sent Clarence Thomas down his hyper-conservative path to being a (disgraced) SCOTUS Justice. He got salty that people didn’t respect him for his merits, so much so that he decided to undo everything his people stood for, just because he was salty that he thought his law school disrespected him by giving him entry under affirmative action. That was his canon event and the start of his villain arc.
Tim Walz is not too proud to carry a big cardboard box, clearly never crossed his mind that one of his aides could do it. Trump would have had a hissy fit first, even if the box was gold-plated.

In my life, I've seen highly educated people that are absolute rats and poorly educated people that are incredibly gifted and hard working too. It's very clear what kind of person Vance is despite his upbringing, and that shows.
The fact that Harris and Walz have to stage these "random events" is proof that no one is happy with them. Two weeks ago in Pittsburgh a sports bar kicked all the paying customers out at 3:30 so that Harris and Walz could bring in actors and have a photos shoot. This is the same tactic that Walz used when he enters an "unscripted" location. In reality the three of them Vance included don't have the ability like Trump to walk into a bodega or fast food restaurant and have real people be happy to see him.
Trump and Vance always do this, project their insecurities on others. It's why Trump can't shut up about his crowd size its the only thing he has to show for his campaign.

How hard can it be to think of a few ice breakers… “Do you bake your donuts in house?” “What’s your specialty?” “What makes a small business like yours be so famous?” “Tell me more about this great town.” The VP candidate should be able to do this with ease.
Excellent suggestions for ice breakers. I’m sure he could memorize those, but, what would he say after? He has no imagination for continuing a conversation
"Barcalounger or sectional?"
Yes, I mean he doesn't know what to get so how about "What are your most popular ones, give me a selection of your top 4". He hasn't even bothered to find out what his team wants before he went in.
