- A fun, behind-the-scenes look at Roush Yates Engines putting together Ford's engines for the Daytona 500--which eventually produced the win for Joey Logano. I produced this video for them as part of their run-up to the new season, and Roush Yates Engines has allowed me to include it here, too.

They never show the valve train, hahaha...
@putines marques everything including lift curves of lifter and valve ...and rocker/lifter geometry etc...
@putines marques I know : the rocker ratio of 1: 2,3 or so ...And still make 9600 rpm with it for 3 hours.............
@@Baard2000 How can those pushrod two valve engines rev that high? Why do we need DOHC four valve engines?
@@nasedo3129 cam duration is very long...so more time to open and close valves at 9600 . Dont expect power below 4800 rpm......
@@nasedo3129 F1 engine , narurally aspirated, 4 valve and double overhead cam, makes 750 hp out of 2.3 litre engine @ 17.000 rpm...... That is about 325 hp per liter engine capacity. Whereas the Nascar makes about 900 hp out of 6 liter engine capacity which is 150 hp per litre.
Crazy how them Ford engine blocks are made with a Chevrolet bell-housing pattern
It’s also kind of crazy of those Chevy engines use a Ford valve arrangement.
@@backinblck1 I didn’t see one Chevy engine in this video 🤔
@@baby-sharkgto4902 you’re right you didn’t, but if you’ve seen any of the other videos where they’ve gone into a modern GM Nascar engine the valve train and port layouts are oddly similar to the Ford head which is a derivative of the Cleveland head. The new LT series of GM small blocks are the same way.
Nice video. Crappy music.
Well I know what van to rob. lol
I visited when they had the abrams tank simulator in their white room, and went on to make the oil sensors for it, and the harness for the look and lock targeting system.
What's with the inappropriate music, it's terrible.
Not even a production based Ford engine!!! This is the problem with NASCAR! NEVER WATCH ANYMORE! And I used to go to the races!!!
Block looks like its LS based
All of them look like that. Toyota’s, gm’s and fords engines for nascar are crazy similar
I like that Chevy bellhousing pattern on that ford engine! Hahahahaha
Yeah I saw that too 😂
why does that engine have a Chevrolet bellhousing flange?
For the Dyno
Mike Samra no, all nascar engines share the same engine bellhousing, which is a Chevy design
They all go by 1 design. Trust me, nobody thinks GM is number 1 especially after their 2009 bullshit government bailout. There is only 2 car companies that has never went bankrupt and that is Tesla and FORD
Ford= Reliability and toughness.
GM= GOVERNMENT BAILOUT, Cheaper, Easier to find parts, and finally easier to work on.
That's why all you see is OLD HEADS THAT WAS LOVING GM BEFORE THEIR BULLSHIT LIBERAL GOVERNMENT BAILOUT STAY LOYAL TO THEM. GM has been a massive failure and even toyota is about to pass them in pickup truck sales. There is a reason they are the first ones to come out and say, all their vehicles will be all electric by 2035. It's because they are on their last leg and this is their last chance to make good money before they get ANOTHER GOVERNMENT LIBERAL BAILOUT. FUCK GM BUY FORD NO BAILOUT NEEDED NO BANKRUPT PHSSY SHIT
@@BannedSports I couldn't agree more
Id love that in my 99 chevy silverado
I would love to put that in my mustang
How boring. Everyone gets the same engine.
Would be ok without music.
A ford with a Chevy bell housing pattern.
@@mikec9112 calm down ford guy....i wasn't talking shit I was simply pointing it out. I wasn't aware that the Ford Motors used the chevy bell housing till I seen this.....as for the Ford 9inch your right it is a beast you can't hardly tear them up....however due to the "hypoid offset" on were the pinion gear meshes with the ring gear on the Ford 9inch it puts less horsepower to the wheels....chevy 12 bolt and Dana 60 will put more power to the back wheels than the Ford 9.....ive seen the results of all three rearended tested on the same car. I've never had a problem out the two different 12bolts I've run but then I've never had a motor that made more than 600hp on a tire bigger than a 10inch slick or a 275/60/15
That’s because it’s a Chevy engine. Chevy is the only company who makes pushrod v8s and all the other companies just take there small block designs.
@@toddkennedy6234 is it really a Chevy engine or based on a Chevy design....i know that chevy no longer runs the sb2/.2 stuff anymore....i don't know what that newer engine they run is called but I remember reading that it was built specifically for NASCAR and was not based on a production Chevy passenger engine....do all of them ran an engine bases on the same design? Much in a similar fashion to how all NHRA funny cars all run a Hemi based engine design regardless of what auto manufacturer is displayed by a decal on the front.?
Sorry Roush........but I am old school NASCAR. Ford with Holman-Moody was an exciting time.
I just bought one cant wait fo stuff it in
I think all teams get the exact same nascar block Chevy Toyota and ford all same block ?
Not quite. All three blocks are very similar, but they are not interchangeable. Slight differences.
They all have to be 5.8 L
NASCAR SUCKS...
GM bell housing
Shane Holt just found that out too. Had plans to mate it to a T56 and Foxbody mustang. Starter is also something to consider.
i think gm ford should pull out and let toyoyee and honda kia have it
That Nascar engine is great for Ford Crown Victoria's and Police Interceptors.
