Glad it was helpful! Remember, the soil is the most important. No mstter what you fertilize with if the ph of the soil is not within range the blueberry can not up take the nutrients.
@@growingoutthebox Okay, thank you, really appreciate that emphasis on soil PH. Will get out my testing kit. I am wondering if I plant them in our alkaline to neutral soil if I can keep the soil around their roots acidic enough. Strange that we have some blueberries that are native and yet, we sit on a calcium based aquifer, it is why down in South Florida you hardly ever come across dandelions.

Now is a great time to do cutting. Thanks for all your support.
Have you ever tried taking a piece of steel and putting it in water like a 5 gallon bucket of water until it turns rusty and water turns black. Use that on your tomato plants and your greens. If you want to see bright orange or bright red tomatoes and bright green greens.
On the basis of the research results, the researchers recommend not to use an iron rust solution as fertilizer because of ion(Fe3+)that not dissolved in water(chemistry book grade12)so the plant tissues cannot absorbed it and closes the soil pores (Jubouri,2018).
I learn something new with each of your videos.

Awesome 👌 thanks you for sharing just got my frist blueberry plant❤
Hello Miss. Gloria.... Beautiful Sunday morning to you. What variety of blueberry plant did you get if you don't mind me asking? To get the best out of your plant you want to pair it with a different verity. It will produce so much better you.
Mine always die,i planted mine 3 yrs ago and it has been orange the whole time. I guess its my soil.
Hard to say but my uneducated guess would be soil deficiency. Do you have them planted directly in soil? Is your soil neutral or may be alkaline? If your soil is alkaline, no matter what fertilizer you use that plant will not be able to uptake it. Soil acidifier can help but takes time. You may want to dig it up and replant using 50% peat, 25% mini pine bark nuggets and 25% compost. I fertilize with cottonseed meal early spring and late summer.
I grew my dragonfruit from a cutting U bought on ebay and it's doing very well. I didn't have to use hormone because of how prolific dragonfruit are, but I like your hormone recipe I have all those things already in my house, an aloe plant (yes get rid of that yellow stuff!). You just cut the dragon fruit piece off and let it dry for about a week, then you put it in the soil and it'll root on it's own. I did this with a cactus piece. I just put it in some soil and it grew roots in a few weeks. Now it's getting some flowers. Thanks for sharing the specifics of your soil. I'll have to try the alfalfa. They grow oyster mushrooms in that in my club. Alfalfa and newspaper. Lemme know if you want me to send you a piece of dragonfruit cutting (I have some already with roots) for you to grow. I grow it indoors under lights in a hot room.
Thank you so much for the offer of the dragon fruit. It gets too cold to grow them here. I have a few banana plants that I move around during the winter and I am second thinking that. I only want to grow what is meant to grow in my area. This is one of the reasons my garden does so well. Thank you again for the offer. I have never tasted dragon fruit.
So glad i found your page!

Just came across this. I really enjoyed it and thoroughly appreciated your teaching manner. I live in New England and will be trying to plant some blueberry bushes. I’m going to check out your other videos. Wish me luck on the blueberries.
Northern high bush or low bush. I have a Northland that’s supposed to be one of the hardiest-30 degrees. I purchased it 2c how it would do and it is producing because of these crazy temperatures.
enjoy your videos. Quick question...What time of year did you make this video and which zone? Would like to try this. Thanks
I do cutting any time of the year with Spring being I deal. I'm in zone 8A Georgia. Winter time you need to take them inside and kept moist and warm which is why I like the bell cloches. Please feel free to ask and questions. It helps me in my growing journey as well.
Can this formula work for mulberry cuttings. Thanks for sharing.
Yes, absolutely can. It can be used on any plant that you may find more difficult to grow from cutting.
@@growingoutthebox thank you for replying
Happy new year to you and family. God bless
Hey growingoutthebox it's Northern Highbush

This Miss Gloria is why I love the messages. I get to help others and it helps me learn by finding the information. 🙏🏽 There is a garden group you may find interesting. It starts at 8 est. @tnog511

so first time trying your root simulator today....the pupper got a hold of my raspberry bush that I planted a few months ago and broke off the whole 8 inch tree i had....the roots were still in the pot and I had another root growing off to the side so I hope it will grow out eventually....but I grabbed the little tree and made your concoction....and planted it in a small pot.....praying to God it works....I have not had any success with other root simulators at all and this is my first berry bush so I'm just beside myself and this pupper too....ugggg

@@growingoutthebox ....update on my raspberry bush....so the small tree is in shock but still limber....and can bend....the roots that were left in the big pot I had it in started to regrow greenery so it's actually regrowing....doing a very big happy dance right now....😆😆😆😆👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
I love your channel and all of the videos have helped me a lot 🙏...I just stopped by to say thanks and also that I saw a different video where someone tested all of the things independently that you put in your rooting hormone and the one that was just cinnamon had a significant improvement in the roots while the honey and aloe vera didn't make any difference. I was wondering if you'd ever tried using just cinnamon? Maybe you can save your honey and aloe...thank you again for all of the videos!
They all have similar properties. Aloe is beneficial for root development, cell strength, and overall plant growth. Honey has anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties which protects the cuttings from pathogens and stimulates the natural rooting hormones in the cutting. Cinnamon powder works similar to honey. It also has anti-fungal properties, which protects form fungal issues like damping-off disease and help stimulate root growth to your cuttings.
1 of the best to doit
Bro.... Thanks for that. Much respect coming from you! "Much respect"....
I tried to plant blueberries that had been rooted already from Costco directly in my yard. I watered regularly and they were doing ok for a couple of months but died during the summer. My question is should I take them out the ground and pot them instead like how you have em in the video??
Unless you know you have acidic soil yes. I recommend planters with no bottoms. You can’t go wrong when you give the bush everything it needs to thrive.
I'm in Texas zone 9b. I want to grow some delicious blueberries. If I plant blueberry plants will I be able to harvest this year?
The plants will produce this year but you should remove the blooms in the 1st year so that the plant can focus on building roots.
Can perlite be used instead of sand in the mix?
I use peat and perlite for my seedling mix. I have never tries to root with it. Not to say it can't be done. I use sand because it gives great drainage yet allows for very small pockets of air in the medium. Perlite give much better air pocket. In my opinion, to much air can take away from good contact to the cutting. That's just my uneducated opinion.😁
@@growingoutthebox that makes lots of sense. Thanks
I usually take the skin of the aloe plant and put it on my body, scalp let it dry
It’s so good
Where do you get your gloves?
So many different uses for aloe. Here is the link to the gloves. They last a long time. amzn.to/3PRXueW
You’re so right! #aloe
Thank you
Why do you mix the compost into the peat moss? Why don’t you continue to use a peat sand mixture as soil and put the compost on top?
Peat and pine nuggets provideo no nutrients. They are acidify which the bush needs to be able to uptake the nutrients. The compost adds life to the mix with microbes and fungi. The roots grow like fungi so when the intertwine the bush has more access to water because the fungi will reach further than the root zone.
Shot out to you from new orleans. I just bought my blueberries and will plant them tomorrow
Not sure if N.O. Is out of the cold season but I personally would not plant right now. I would wait until early spring. Planting now would surely serious damage or worse to your bush if there is another frost. I would suggest waiting.
@growingoutthebox OK. We're not completely out of the cold and it usually doesn't get too cold out here but I'll wait. In the mean time should I put the plants in the garage?
@@ericwilliams1124 If the plants are over a year you want them to get their chill hours over this winter or you will have very little to no fruit. The plants themselves will survive below 0. If in smaller containers you may need to move then inside. The flower bud won't but they should be outside.
@@growingouttheboxThe bigger plant has flowers and buds on it. The smaller one doesn't.

Is green sand ok to use? You need to show me the bag name of mixture you are with the compost and other 2 ingredients in so i can order ir. Thank!
Most my plants are southern highbush. The larger blueberry bushes are 3 years old and the smaller ones are just a year old. It's recommended to not prune in the first 3 years so next fall I may be pruning for the 1st time.
@@growingoutthebox ok. Is it ok to use green sand? And what is the on that bag for the potting mixture you used. Thanks!
Hello again. I have blueberries that i grow in containers. I dont know when to prune or if its too soon. The weather is so up and down. Its cold one or 2 days then temps raise in the 70s. My blackberries are green like its spring. Only a few fall leaves on them. Should i leave blueberries out in the cold or move when temps drop in 30s. Should i prune .They are going into their second year. Also do you raise figs? I don't see figs in your videos or i haven't came across one. I love figs and i have gotten on the fig wagon big time. Again i love your video's so informing and sooo helpful. Thanks for your channel. Love the homemade root stimulator. Can't wait to try.
Hey Felicia. Thanks for the question. If your blueberry plants are only 2 years old you don't want to prune just yet. Pruning usually is in the 4th year. As far as temperatures, blueberries need chill hours to fruit so I would not take them in. Just maybe plase the close to a structure to protect from wind. I do have figs and they don't like the cold as much as blueberries so I do protect my figs during the winter. I have had my figs die back to the ground for the past 3 years so this year I have mini greenhouses for them.
Thanks for response. If I may suggest if you could take a few extra seconds to show products you use or maybe put a link below your video that would help a lot when looking for supplies. I did not know that it was so easy to reproduce blueberries. Can blackberries and raspberries be reproduced the same way? Looking forward to the compost video!😊
Hey Neecee.... It's that easy. Starting out you want to make sure you get the newest growth. This year growth. Should be green or a pretty autumn red this time of the year. Black berries and raspberries are even eaisier. Just cut off some of the new growth and stick it in the ground or simply lay a branch still attached to the bush on the ground and place soil on top. Place something on top of the soil to keep it from moving. Those root pretty fast.

Rooting hormone as toxic as label suggests? Can't use for edibles?
For any skin contact, the warning label on my rooting powder suggests flushing under running water for 20 minutes. And for accidental inhalation, they recommend the emergency room.

Yes. Rooting hormone contain known carcinogens. Not advisable for edibles... or smokables like tomatos... wink wink.
