End of an era for the NYR. I may be an oilers fan living in Edmonton, but i'll very much miss seeing this guy play between the pipes for the Rangers. Amazing goaltender and an even more amazing human being. Best of wishes for the future, Hank🇸🇪

He is the epitome, the mold of how i think more professional athletes should be: Loyal to his team and his city, an active member of his community. So respectful towards people, i LOVE how he treats people around him, his interactions with the Fans, Police, Firedepartments, friends and the less fortunate. He never looks like he's forced into events like these, he just seems to love them. Just a complete classact, he will be missed.

A great goalie and a NHL HOF and yet he is even better as a human being. He carried the Rangers on his back for so many years and suddenly they forget all about it. I am both sad and dissapointed.

Hank deserved so much more than than what he got. He was the best player on the team for so many years and stood tall when the defense was abysmal. He was basically the sole reason for getting to the Stanley Cup finals. He gave the team so many chances to bring a championship back to New York City. Farwell King.

It's hard to believe Hank stated out here in 2005/2006. I've been a Ranger fan since 1976 and in all this time I've seen some of the greatest NYR players hit the ice @ MSG & Henrik Lundqvist was one of the best goalies since Mike Richter & and John Vanbiesbrouck played for the Rangers. It feels weird saying Hanks name in past tense. The King Of The New York Street - Rock On. Yep, we'll miss #30 between the pipes. Elvis Has Left the Building.

I knew this day would come.

But I never could imagine that it would feel like this...
He played for the team I support in Sweden (Frölunda) and I was so excited when he was drafted by my beloved Rangers.
And when he finally crossed the pond to join the team.
Man, we all knew that this was going to be a hell of a ride.

The fans might miss him but the administration went about it disrespectfully and acted nice with their comments afterwards. If he only had 1 year left before possibly retiring why not have him till the end? After 14 years in one place now he will retire in a new club. That ain't right! They didn't gradually let Hank back down, they straight went with two talented young goalies and forced him off the throne, didn't care for his match fitness so always got games ice cold off the bench and to top it off have him start in the playoff because of his records which was due for a crash and burn then bought him out of his contract... Not as much as an ounce of honor, consideration and most of all mutual respect for him. He didn't live up because he's washed up, he struggled because the team so drastically stopped believing in him. The climate changed over night towards him. I bet he was sad inside everytime on the ice, and couldn't muster giving it his best as he felt it wouldn't change anything. They were ready to move on and they made that clear early by treating him unfairly.

Over rated??? And you figure this how?
He's 6th on the ALL time NHL win list.
The ONLY NHL goalie to have 30 or more wins in each of his first 7 seasons which, btw, could've been extended to 12 seasons had he not been injured in 2011 - 12'.
And how could you have been saying this for years?? Out of 15 with him in goal they only missed the playoffs 3 times. And in only ONE of them did he have a losing record which, again, was his Very FIRST and in the beginning of the rebuild!
