My First Time Reaction to Oshi No Ko Anime Opening IDOL performed LIVE by YOASOBI and this was like no YOASOBI live performance or song I have ever heard! YOASOBI really changed everything with this hard electric rap and pop song IDOL and made one of my favourite openings of the year! The crowd screaming 'Hai' is actually the part of the song. It's iconic. The song in itself is a wonder of the music world.
The thing that makes it even more better is that, in the anime opening at this part aqua is shown as standing while the crowd cheers him on while in this Ikura is standing and the crowd is cheering her on its so cool

YOASOBI deserved everything that they had for this song, their talents will not go to waste, it's amazing how it went so well in terms of audience and I can't be more happier then their success.

This song, for obvious reasons, follows a lot of things from idol culture. It’s normal to include the audience in an idol performance. The songs are often made thinking of fanchants and they tend to have call and response sections. It’s part of the allure of idol culture.

Having been to Japanese concerts in Japan, I can tell you the audience is part of the performance.

Even in old concerts in Japan, the audience shouted and sang without permission, but the audience stopped shouting because they wanted to hear the singer's voice. Smartphones are also generally prohibited because they are in the way. Group action is Japanese culture.

I love how energetic the band is. You can see that the guys and girls are really having fun! And with an audience like that, you can only have fun. In general, I just love the fact that hardly anyone is standing there with their smartphone all the time. Everyone is going crazy and partying. It's like they're literally part of the show!
Like on this year in Indonesia, we have so many live concert from japanese bands like: Yoasobi, Flow, Kana-boon, Radwimps, Babymetal, Man with a mission, One ok rock, Asian kung fu generation, and many more

That live performance is so good! I wondered how a song like that could be perform live, since it's not the usual normal song, but they are soo good and so tight! At the beggining, i wasn't really a fan of the song and didn't really understand the hype about it, but the more i listened to it, the more i loved it and now i'm obssessed! 😂 Especially after reading the lyrcis, this is such a briliant song and the live version is perfection! I think oshi no ko is one of my favorite anime! Can't wait for season 2! 😊
If you watch the making-of video of the idol song, you will see in the background that the supporters who are shouting 'Hey! Hey!' are actually Yoasobi fans who came to the studio and recorded this part while meeting the Yoasobi group. That's why it's not difficult for the crowd to accompany easly. The anime and the song are incredibly harmonious.
To be precise, it was a dance group called “real Akiba boyz” that mainly uploads content on youtube! Their concept is to specifically dress up like otakus so Ayase thought it was a great idea to have them do the shouting part haha

I've been a fan of vocalist ikura since before she started working as YOASOBI, so this stage was unbelievably crazy in a good way.
This is one of my favorite songs and I like that it was made for the anime

I think it's purposeful that this song in particular has both a happy feeling on the surface, but there's parts underneath, and where it switches up that shows the "truth" as it were, that fit the lyrics. But i also wanted to mention, the western perspective of what music sounds happy vs sad is not universal. not everywhere is major chord=happy minor chord-sad. there are other cultures that use different music scales even than us.

honestly, Ikura (the singer) is perfect fit as Ai Hoshino if they adapted it into life action.

I couldn't find it in the coments. You asked were the concert was. It was in Saitama Prefecture (north of Tokyo) in the "Saitama Super Arena. It is written in the title, but in japanese (さいたまスーパーアリーナ).

OK so I'm late to the party here....my 1st exposure to YOASOBI's IDOL was not from anime but from watching a Japanese dance troupe called Aventgardey who danced to IDOL at America's got Talent this past summer. So I just had to find out who YOASOBI was.....man what an act... and much like all Japanese entertainers these folks practice their art to perfection. I'm amazed that she can breathe given the lyrics. Hell I'm 70 and lost my breath just watching.
Idol is an amazing song and the show they managed to put on here is awesome. It must have been a crazy experience.

Also music goes on under the complex of changing chords to be puzzled taking us to the heave, but at the moment we are thrown down again into the tragedies and despair!

There are good things and bad things about the "intimacy" between the bands and crowd in Japan. It invites parasocial relationships and creepy behaviour, as well. (Like someone giving their oshi a signed marriage certificate as only 1 example I've seen)
Lives are usually really fun though. For the moves you referred to, in VKei, the moves fans do are called "furi" and are usually created by either the band or the front fans who are at every shows. There is a leader for each band who goes to every show and will be up front before the live so regulars can go "sign up" for a spot on the front line for their favorite bands. (Unlike big bands like YOASOBI, small bands tend to play in lives with 4-8 bands for a day) You cannot stand on the first line (saizen) unless you signed up and got accepted. There are specific rules to concerts that most people who go a lot learn to know. I won't add too much because I don't wanna write a book, but yes, fandoms are usually very dedicated and know the moves, or furi, of most of their favorite band's songs.
(Some bands have excrutiatingly difficult furi too)

If someone had to sold their lung to go there and see it live, I'd say they made the smartest choice.
Also, Rira Ikuta is so goddamn cute, I can only avoid mentioning it all the time cause her voice has to be praised first and foremost.
Last but not least, I think the fact "Idol" is such a bop with high energy while having dark lyrics about the idol industry, is kind of a mataphor itself to idols, who keep so much high energy and bring so many smiles through a lot of pain and effort and even darker things that arent normally seen.

Japan has a law that every performance must use the real voice. It can't be edit in each note in studio and NO MMM used in performance. All is MMO / live band. So CD and live performance are very similar feel. YOASOBI is the best in these three years.

The reaction of this audience is unique to Japanese idol concerts. They never sing or take videos together. Listen to the singer's singing voice and create a sense of unity in this way.
