"Don't be afraid to go dark" That's something my professor always told me whenever I was working on my paintings or drawings. I love how Benny also mentioned but for photoshop!
I do photorealistic portraits, I heard this advice long time ago from other artists too and it might be the greatest advice ever. Since there is a real fear of going too dark, as if you couldn't correct it later anyway, it changed the way I see shadows and lights now. It's just totally different and it's such a simple advice. Shadows and lights are key, photoshop, drawings, photography, anywhere.
Thanks for reviewing my Sarlac Microworld attempt bro! I tried to be clever with the 2 suns / 2 shadows but yeah, didn’t pay off really. You’re totally right, one shadow looks a lot better. I wanted to show the inside of the sarlac but yeah. As you say, can’t see through dirt. I had similar concerns about keeping it in but just went for it anyways! Appreciate the feedback bro 😎
@@renatobarretoalmeida179 this was my dilemma ha. It’s two sources of light? So it’s two shadows? It is bright enough to be one shadow??? Ohh the issues I’ve had trying to figure this out haha 😂
Straight-up great advice!! For those who only got 2 pixels, don't worry! It takes a lot of time to achieve Benny's level and his insights in these works ;)
Good stuff I learned: -Lighting consistency is key -Don't be afraid of the dark -Be mellow with the highlights I love the reviews! Please do more reviews like these, it really helps a lot to know more of your thoughts when creating and reviewing stuff :)
I loved the video, want more of these. I am really impressed with how you edited everyone's photo to show how to do it properly, cause editing without the real raw materials is really tough. Good job!
Thank you for rating my art! I feel honored to have my image reviewed by the artist I admire the most! His work is amazing and I hope there will be more reviews like this! It is a huge learning experience for us!
Hey bro...I am a beginner in Photoshop. So i kindly request you to make full tutorial videos of your arts works. It will really help me to grow up. I know very few people may watch your videos because it will be very long video but i will watch your whole video. It's my kind request
@@artecomali Bro then i am subscribing you...Because i really don't care how many subscribers u are have...The only thing is matter for me that your tutorial videos.....Waiting for your videos now☺😊😇
These reviews are incredible and so educational!! I will be submitting a few arts for the next one for sure!! Thanks for spreading your knowledge Benny!!! Love your work
This was a great video Benny! It's difficult to give your take on these pieces since there are always people that disagree with you. Especially if you've a big following like you do. However it felt like the tips and advise were all well thought through, very impressive!
We need to more of this videos Benny! Hope you make more of this it helps all digital artist like me with those small critics,. Another unique content from you. 🔥
Just wanted to point out, the sarlacc artwork has two shadows because Tatooine has two suns. I agree that the shadows weren't perfect but I think it was a great attention to detail.
So,here we have a multi talented person. I mean photos, songs, tutorials. Every thing we have here. But today is some different and that's why I love this channel ❤❤
I hope you enjoy making these kinds of videos. You're a master of lighting in the photo-manipulation realm, and seeing your critiques is very helpful (even if it's someone else's work)! It's one of the reasons Boro Dante's (BoroCG) "Over-Pain" series has become one of my favorites! Love to see that kind of thing here as well. 🤩
Og show? Too bad i wasnt here early. Came from your "i make your drawings realistic" and loved this series (favorite) and checked everything else. Loved also the "turn myselfninto" and also iamma start this series!! Thanks ben for another episode
I remember back then when Benny's breaking down his work, like a tutorial vids, it changed my life and I am now earning money by just doing what I love to do and able to provide for my family more than my old job, I have one daughter btw.
I want to suggest something in regards to lightning. You can look up lightning drawing/painting tutorials. While they are about drawing they explain how light behave when coming from certain angle and how it reflects from different surfaces. Practicaly very useful knowledge in editing.
Hell bro! I was just watching this video and then suddenly my art came at 8:12. Well I admit I got the idea after watching your tutorial but like you said the highlights were a bit too much. But I made it like 2-3 months ago but posted it only after some time. Thank you Benny, will keep what you said in my mind.

2 shadows makes sense for me because Tatooine has 2 suns. But they are too small, so I think they act like one light source.
Good job bro

I have seen this man grow and performing so much better in editing videos. I remember when he started reviewing the photos first. Been a ride
Your constructive criticism is extremely helpful.

Straight-up great advice!!

Many will probably never reach his level, but just the fact we're trying and will get much better, is already a success
Their 2 pixels are 1000x better than my edits haha
I didn’t get a Pixel rating. That’s good right lol 😂

Make more of this Benny that's freaking awesome 💙💙
The second one with the desert is meant to be tatooine and this planet got 2 suns that's why he edited 2 shadows.
Ooo ty

Keep doing this man, this is the best videos
Benny's Review is by far one of the best shows on RUclips! Keep it going bro! 👊🏻
the effort you put to your content is just awesome
I suppose the second one has two shadows because the monster is from tatooine planet in star wars, with two suns in the system.
The suns are pretty close together though… I don’t think it would change that much
The second image has 2 shadows because it's a star wars reference, tatooine has 2 suns ence 2 shadows
I really like this video. It helps a lot of people!
thanks for the review benny, I'm sure everyone will learn something from this video. Keep going

Awesome video! the two shadows on the sarlacpicure are sourced by the two suns, Tatooine has. So I think it was ment this way^^
