    I’m fairly new to the game and found this video very informative, thank you. Please do more about the rules.
    I keep fantasising about putting 4 guys in a box trailer behind the Willys SAS Jeep lol. Fire power + transport = winner!🖐

    That was cool. Will have to catch up with the rest. I learnt something. Thought the officer could "snap too" with the unit in the same unit in the vehicle.

      Sorry the officer can put his morale bonus to the troops in the transport and the transport itself. But not the snap to. 👍

    If you give your troops a DOWN order while they are in the vehicle, that means they can not operate the spare gun in the vehicle. DOWN means no other action including shooting. Again if this is a compulsory order, then the second weapon is useless. I would be looking at a fire order if the option is available.

    • @kitchenwargamers4141
      @kitchenwargamers4141  6 месяцев назад

      A down order is to show troops stay on the vehicle but they can use secondweapon, but remember troops cannot be given fire or ambush orders

    You forgot to mention that if an enemy unit actually assaults the transport, irrespective of the proximity of friendly troops and the transport is empty, it is lost as soon as the enemy squad has contacted the transport. It does not fight back. You also failed to mention that an open topped vehicle has disadvantages when fired upon compared to an enclosed vehicle. Finally, if a squad disembarks from a vehicle, is that vehicle allowed an order after that event?

    • @kitchenwargamers4141
      @kitchenwargamers4141  6 месяцев назад

      Correct mate and when troops have disembarked as far as I remember the carrier can be given any order.

    Can the unit dismount after the vehicle moved? If not, and the passengers need to dismount before the vehicle moves, can the vehicle be given a move order later in the turn? It doesn't seem like transports would be particularly useful if you have to forego a turn for one or the other - easier to not mount at all, and just give the troops a run order the following turn if that's the case.

    • @kitchenwargamers4141
      @kitchenwargamers4141  3 года назад +1

      Hi and thanks for your question. Troops can dismount from a moved transport as long as it has not had a run order. So the transport can advance and then Troops can advance or run from it. But the Troops cannot run into close combat when leaving it. So I all ways have troops in a transport at the beginning of the game to get them into position before getting them out. Hope this helps headhunter 😁👍

    Commander still gives the morale bonus to units in the vehicle and the vehicle itself but cannot "snap to" that is correct.

  • @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy
    @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy 6 месяцев назад

    How can you get a DOWN order if the vehicle was already moving? For it to move you had to have issued an order dice. The only way I see this working, is if you issue a move order but fail it because of moral, conditions or a failed cross check. Then the vehicle has not moved but may have a compulsory DOWN order which is quite different from what you are saying.

    • @kitchenwargamers4141
      @kitchenwargamers4141  6 месяцев назад

      Yep but remember that if a vehicle has been on fire and the crew put it out, the vehicle order dice is changed to down or if it has no order dice on it yet you pick out the dice and put the down order on it

    The auto remove empty transport rule is correct the way you said it but highly strange and artificial for the game. I wish they changed that rule.
    They are armored and have a vehicle mounted MG that is why they are there to support the troops in the battle. They would not run away in real combat either.

      Thanks for your comment and i totally agree with you, what's the point of having a mobile support weapon when it runs off. But I think house rules would work 😁👍

    • @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy
      @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy 6 месяцев назад

      I don't see the rule as strange. Even half tracks are extremely vulnerable in combat and a half track is meant to be a transport not a front line combat vehicle. At Arnhem a half track crew were ordered forward to support infantry in a fire fight. The officer concerned was inexperienced and arrogant. The vehicle didn't even get to its engagement point when a PIAT struck the driver's side door killing him, and grenades were lobbed into the back shredding the gunner and starting a fire. Sources, It Never Snows In September. A book from the German point of view of Arnhem. Don't have it to hand for the author's name but a very interesting read.

      @@Bodkin_Ye_Pointy yes they have 7+ armor easy to pen they have open top, at least lob in a grenade ... no problem with that but not auto disappear, they are there to fight with a driver and a machine gunner.

  • @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy
    @Bodkin_Ye_Pointy 6 месяцев назад

    So question. Are you saying that the vehicle has to go DOWN when boarded? And how does the DOWN order work on a vehicle that can't hug the ground or otherwise hook into cover? My preference would be to FIRE, the vehicle is stationary and has no penalty for moving.

    • @kitchenwargamers4141
      @kitchenwargamers4141  6 месяцев назад

      The down order is just to show the vehicle has stopped to get the troops on board and can't do anything else

    Too bad Commanders in a vehicle can't command. Seems silly. 1943 and latter Germans mounted in half-tracks should be able to fight while mounted as that was the doctrine.

    • @kitchenwargamers4141
      @kitchenwargamers4141  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for your comment and yes it would be good if the commander could issue orders from a transport, as I have seen loads of ww2 pictures of officers sitting in there transport with troops looking at his map as he gives orders. Maybe do this as a house rule. 😁👍
