"Just a guy with a bow" couldnt work in rivals, so leading into his more ronin aspects with his unreal martial skill fits alot more in my opinion. He also just appeals in a fun way to alot of hawkeye fans (me) since he finally gets to be "cool" and less of a punching bag in media for once. Like finally my guy gets to be cool and they give him edgy 90's "cool level 5000" cool.
One of my favorite touches for Hela's team-up with Thor and Loki is, mechanically, if Loki or Thor die, Hela can revive them by killing an enemy. The reason they give lore-wise is that Hela is just fed up with them in the kind of "I'm tired of your constant visits, GET OUT OF MY REALM" way lol.
I assume the sexualization on Hela's Empress of the Universe costume is mainly a consequence of wanting to show more skin because they have that transluscent skin effect on it. The more you cover her up, the more you're covering up a major point of interest in the design.
If you want to get really technical with it, Jeff's first appearance was in West Coast Avengers Volume 3 #1 as a background landshark that writer Kelly Thompson saw and really liked. Now, technically, this isn't specifically Jeff, and Jeff himself wouldn't actually show up as a named character until issue 7 as Gwenpool's adopted pet Landshark. He's mostly a Gwenpool character, but Thompson has said that she doesn't think of him as pet so much as a little rascal who travels around the Marvel Universe, usually hanging out with Gwenpool or Kate Bishop. Highly recommend the "It's Jeff!" infinity comics. They're some very impressive wordless storytelling and absolutely adorable to boot!

One of the details I love about groot, and that imo kind of fixes Skyens complaints about him, is that in game flowers and sprouts grow around his feet wherever he walks. It makes him feel so much more like a gentle giant that he is portrayed as (when not beating people to death)
Hawkeye became the Ronin in comics in 2007, he’s used swords for almost two decades at this point consistently. This iteration is a mixture of him as Hawkeye and him as the Ronin, because it’s meant to take place after returning to the avengers post-vigilante arc
Something I just noticed about Hela's design is that in her default pose, she looks like a sword, or a dagger. Her shoulderpads makes up the crossguard and the collar works with the central spike of the crown to make a handle, and her crossed legs make up the blade.
38:00 I think that Hela's shoulder piece is supposed to turn her whole silhouette into a sword, with her long legs imitating a sword blade. With her abilities revolving around throwing swords , I think it's a neat design choice c:
@@tektyrantI think it is. I’ve never been a fan of Helas headpiece but once Skyen pointed out her shoulder and neckpiece, I realized her pointed head gives her a kind of “tip” that looks like you can pick her up like a sword or toss her like a sinister javelin
In defense of Hawkeye, Ronin is a very classic thing at this point and he always moves past it to be himself again but now with swords. Which I think is kinda hype
Adam is quite literally made to be the pinnacle of his alien race, so yes. Every tiny bit of perfection must be achieved. Even his name references the importance of his "birth".
Adam Warlock is an alien that was genetically engineered at birth to be perfect. That's why he looks like that. He's a custom creation character by his parents. Classic Miranda from Mass Effect sorta situation.
I actually grew to like how different the new Groot looks from the old Groot in the MCU, because at first, he was this tall lanky beast, which served Rocket’s purposes just fine but had to find ways to fit into the escapades of the Guardians as a new team, and that form didn’t survive their first big mission of saving the galaxy, so when he started to regrow he became something that could survive missions like that. His bulky frame allowed for weapons to be hidden inside him, while him being naked drew away suspicious guards who would check for weapons, he has better root shields, he can cover more distance quickly with his form closer to the ground, he can be the tank the Guardians need.
1:02:48 Tony having a fatter @ss than Black Panther is so funny. Me and my friend had a good chuckle when we noticed. Tony doesn't skip squats and he wants everyone to know lol
I mean it fits with how he presents himself to the people around him like “yes of course I do squats. I need to make sure I look good for the camera at every angle”
One thing you didn't talk about with Groot is that he sort of has green, crystal like things in his shoulders, and he also glows a bit green from his arms and legs. It makes him seem almost a little magical, which I quite like personally.
To answer question at 1:13:04, he originally appeared in West Coast Avengers and got the name from Gwenpool. So technically it's both? Anyway, after wards he follows Gwen around and becomes apart of Deadpool's world and the larger marvel universe following Gwenpool Strikes Back Issue 3- where in her fear of cancellation and disappearing into irrelevancy she asks Wade to watch after him, allowing him to exist longer in the Marvel-verse.
There is a really cool detail worth checking out. In lore section each character has a signature which is a really cool detail that gives them even more character.
Shame 3BSkyen skipped over my favorite bit of personification that Loki has. The freaking cheeky snap that Loki does when he swaps with his clone is so cool in its simplicity and it really gives off the energy that Loki is just showing off
The weirdest thing in this game to me so far is that there's no Deadpool considering he's a character that would objectively fit really really well into a shooter like this
NetEase have this MOBA game with Marvel heroes called Marvel Super War. There Deadpool is character that can switch between melee and ranged mode and have an entire diff skill set for each mode. I think they can implemented this to Rivals , like Cloak and Dagger but it's just Deadpool instead 2 characters in 1.
Hello Mr Skyen, Lord of ADHD. You may have skipped over ALL the abilities for Iron Fist and Iron Man, and Iron Man's mvp animations. Not asking you to go back just saying you blew past them after being distracted by Boss Baby Riven and then AI Iron Man and his ass plates.
One thing that Skyen didn't really talk about enough was the idle animations for Iron Fist. They really nailed that particularly martial arts combination of agility and power in my opinion. I especially love his snappy guard animation.
i don't think you understand the design intent behind Groot, they didn't make him incredibly complex because this way he is more human looking, therefore more relateable so people can feel sefe around him, wich is the way he is meant to feel, someone to be safe around. Just saying because i actually like the design of Groot a lot
I also thought about it. When TB Skyen started saying "Multiple limbs this and hollow trunk that" I thought "Yeah, cool, ALTHOUGH it will make him alien to the audience, less sympathetic maybe even"
Granted yes but at the same time there's also still a lot of friendly Ents in fiction that are just variations on manshape but tree that this iteration of Groot is really not doing anything new or special in the realm of his archetype. It's a good design in it's own right but if Groot is the 45th friendly Ent you've seen in your life you're kinda like "okay another Ent, next"
The black hole in hela's skin is so good, cause death eats everything/nothing escapes it, and a black hole can be the same idea on a cosmic scale. i think showing more skin in it makes sense, cause u want the black hole to be seen/accessible and also, it draws your gaze toward the black hole, which draws in everything, which may be unintentional but still works
If I had to guess on the loki horned helmet thing, it might be a reference to the idea of him being a Satan analogue in the attempt to rewrite and christianize norse lore in that one book, which if true, is a fun cut.
I’m no expert in Norse Mythology but I do believe that most iterations of him prior to the whole “Christian Rewrite” if you will, lack horns and depict him more as a jokester who never purposely causes permanent harm… most of the time. Also a family man actually, very much a good dad and all that funny enough. Far as I can tell actually… Marvels versions, and most subsequent versions, are the only ones I’m aware of that actually have big curled horns like that. Though it’s been a while since I looked at those older depictions so take it with a grain of salt
It was interesting hearing you talk about Hawkeyes outfit. Since I’ve mostly heard positives, I liked the other perspective. Personally I think it’s really clever to combine the Ronin and classic Hawkeye costumes.
Some observations - You forgot to see the Iron Man MVP - Sometimes you forgot to see the first appearance in some skins, for Example, Hela Empress of Cosmos (Original of Marvel Rivals) or even some recolors, like Jeff Adopted Avenger So with the first appearance you can search to compare the desings, maybe like addition to next videos - Some emotes are from a pack of the skins, like for example, Doctor Strange God of Magic, the emote of that skin its the staff he use in that comic, or MCU skins, a emote reference something of the movies or series
15:55 For the MCU specifically, the Groot from the 2nd Guardians movie and onwards is considered the son/offspring of the 1st movie Groot. In the comics it's considered reincarnation.
I think it be helpful to know in the lore of the game, the Wakandan empire is sponsoring a global resisantance, which explains Captain America working with them
It's always so fascinating when different artists who are experienced in character design have wildly different opinions on the same thing. It's awesome
As a huge hawkeye fan, I think his designs work because of what the default is trying to do and because Hawkeye doesn’t have a consistent design. His original design has been deemed to goofy despite the fact that is was specifically designed by a carnie to emulate superhero costumes. Then we get stuff like freefall or ultimates where hawkeye has a more athletic design but is still extra enough to differentiate. His ronin faze has really stuck with the character which gives us the katanas and ninja vibes in a lot of new interpretations. And then the best run, Matt Fractions hawkeye, made him actually a regular guy and for as much as i love that run i kinda hate how that has become his default look. So Marvel Rivals is trying to use the ronin design, to explain the swords, while trying to keep it hawkeye and while I don’t love it I think it does its job. Ultimately i think that hawkeye hasn't really had a bad design because nothing has stuck; his classic is iconic, his post fraction design is his most populer look these days, and everything in the middle is a mix of the two.
Yeah I feel like people forget the carnie part of him. I have fallen out of reading comics in the past few years, so do you know what comic Skyen was referencing, that deals with his deafness?
@ShadowCrestCreations the comic he is referring to is David Aja's hawkeye run, sometimes known as my life as a weapon. I totally recommend it, it's about Clint's daily life when he's not kicking it with the avengers. It's actually the run that got me into the character because its super beginner friendly.
So to quickly answer about Adam Warlocks dorito bod, in the comics he was an artificial alien designed by a crazy alien race obsessed with genetic purity to be their ubermensh leader, but instead he becomes a space hippy wizard druid- that the premise at least Also those iron man energy gloves on Cap in the last vid were magnetic and the idea is he uses them to attract the shield to him- it was in the movies, they have it often in the comics, but it is communicated only by the blue glow on the gloves and the shield so i agree it doesn't really work in this design
8:28 With Adam, he was basically made to be the perfect being and worshipped as a god by an alien cult. Thus, it actually makes sense for him to both yolked and over the top with his outfit.
I think Skyen is the first person I've seen who doesn't vibe with the Hawkeye design. I really enjoy it personally just cause it does fit his style in this game, but i can understand the critiques
He rarely likes cool shiet. Having Hawkeye design with elements from his Ronin experience is a great mix, which is why the outfit in Marvel Rivals is interesting. Instead of having 2 separate characters, they merged Hawkeye and Ronin into 1, which works for Clint.
It's a cool design, but it doesn't fit his personality in the game at all. The suit has that badass dude vibe, but his personality is still just chill funny guy.
Based on what I an seeing online. Odin has 2 ravens not crows and there is no origin of where they came from. They just always with him. So where you getting info that states Hel specifically gifted them to Odin
Me sitting waiting for him to talk about the best girl, Squirrel Girl. Also side note, Skyen "man why did they make cosmic hela sexy?" Me trying desperately to hide Death and her design
The Hawkeye comic han mentions is Hawkeye by Matt Fraction & David Aja published in 2012. And yes it's really really good more a slice of life cape comic.
For Galactic Hela I got the vibes she's more of a "I am near invincible, all powerful, I have achieved true godhood" and she dresses in a way that displays the confidence that comes with that
I think my only issue regarding the sexualization was the point about committing to either the seductress or the efficient killer. I feel that makes more sense in a League or Overwatch champion design where you only have limited time and visual space to convey the character, but when it comes to Rivals where the character already has decades long established lore and characterization that the design is trying to capture, committing to the all or nothing approach makes less sense. The best example I can think of is Taskmaster, he’s ruthless, efficient, mercenary, etc, but the man is also kind of goofy. His own miniseries leans hard into that, his complete realism about his abilities making him turn and run while internally screaming when faced with anyone who is capable of killing him, his refusal to remove the Halloween skull mask when on the job, even when the job is cheating at golf tourney resulting in him putting in full mercenary gettup. So I feel any theoretical deign whose goal it is to capture the whole of the character would need to be sell the scary efficient killer, but would probably need to acknowledge, at least a bit, the inherent silliness of the man and his skull mask, even if it doesn’t fully mesh with the overall air of menace. With widow it’s harder to draw that line since almost all women in comics get sexualized to the point where it enters the characters lore/personality to some extent, but I’d say her using her sexuality as another tool in her spycraft is so inherently baked into her character at this point that emphasizing it slightly in the otherwise ‘efficient killer’ message her design is going for is more representative of her character as a whole, even if it makes the first read of the character design to someone new to the character a bit more ambiguous.
Jeff's dolphin costume is canonical, as he got it after he caused a scare at a pool party once. He's also got dozens of outfits in his short online comic, so tons of room for extra skins. 😁
Hawkeye currently is using his experience and time as Ronin to incorporate more swordplay into his combat so him using his sword in the Galactic MVP animation does feel like something he'd do, just not something the old Hawkeye would do
8:16 Adam being made artificially as the intended peak of human evolution does in my view bring some ideas of the old greco-roman pursuit of beauty in the physique. I think that's the sort of angle that makes his design lean towards a well developed musculature. Him being physically imposing is only secondary to him looking "perfect".
Skyen: look they jiggle hehehehehe sorry I got distracted there I have heard many a man say this in games but never quite in this context haha. We love ya Skyen
jeff came from westcoast avengers, which did involve gwenpool at the time. after that gwenppol was his owner, but she gave him to deadpool incase she didnt get anymore books. now hes with kate bishop
Jeff just makes me smile even if I’m sick af rn and in pain basically everywhere. Also his animations commit even harder to the cuteness - he eats a little fish to reload, he hums the jaws theme while he’s wandering around in his shift ability, and his backwards movement is the cutest backpedal animation possible.
Just noticing, hela CANNOT do a split. At all, or have her legs at an 75 degree angle, attempting to do so would stab her in the waist. Also, ironman in endgame was not technoorganic it was nanomashines that then form a suit
David Aja is the Spanish artist you are looking for Hawkeye, with Matt Hollingsworth in color department. His Iron Fist run is also really nice if you are looking for something when you reach Iron Fist.
May i say i love your videos. ^^ As a concept artist. This is just wonderful how you going into detail with analysis. Its really inspiring. Makes me to continue and try new things. ^^ hope one day we can converse.
I adore loki's season 2 outfit because it perfectly represents his character arcs. His outfit is incredibly simple, but still finely made. He still wears a crown, but one of rock or maybe jade, not gold. At the end of the season he sacrifices a lot and in doing so learns to wield immense amounts of power, but in service to others, not himself. So he still wears the garb of nobility but more as a signifier of responsibility then out of a need to announce himself as ruler.
The thing that's killing me about Hawkeye is that he's not emoting in his MVPs at all. He's supposed to be a show-off, but he seems really disinterested in the tricks he's performing. Like... isn't he supposed to be showboating??
That's a bit of missed opportunity... Hawkeye might look and occupy a similar niche to many other famous archer characters as we have seen many times now... so many have the stoicism turned up high. Hawkeye being a showoff would give him some contrast. Like I could see an mvp of him biting into an apple casually throwing it over at the pov... then we get the arrow splitting it as the camera is lined up for Hawkeye to have bow been just loosed.
55:08 idk if its just me, but the way the bandages were wrapped on his right arm just feels so right and i love the animator's/designer's detail, since looking at the bandages, it is just one continous wrap atleast from the arms all the way up to his biceps but theres a gap in between the elbow cause when you wrap your joints with bandages or any other cover, it becomes loose or its too tight to give you a wide range of motion
One of the things that genuinely confounds me about the choices the designers made for Black Widow is that this version of the character (the one from Marvel Rivals) is well over a hundred years old. According to the lore blurb she ages extremely slowly due to super soldier-adjacent serum. And like- come on!! This could have been such a unique take! At least give us a gray streak in her hair or something!!
Hela's outfit is very close to her comic version. Her crown is a little more exaggerated along with the shoulder pads are a little longer, but of all it's pretty accurate.
Honestly at the beginning, the black widow program what is making beautiful and sexy woman turn into an non feeling assassin agent. So technically she's supposed to be sexy AND non feeling only focus on the mission. I think that's the point of her character. To me your opinion is very specific but I can understand on the context of visual storytelling
If pay close attention to the mouse placing, you can see Skyen physically restraining himself from imidiatly commenting on Ironman's @ss. Gotta respect the profecionalism
Jeff should have several skins based on the colouration of different shark species, some of them are stunning. Imagine an epaulette skin or a bioluminescent cookie cutter one.
On the Hel crow thing…they are more related to her than Odin, comic and myth wise. Hel, the realm, doesn’t just have crows, iirc it also has a number of giant ones inside. Odin has ravens, his favorite two being Muninn and Huginn who function as both spys and pets and like to perch on his shoulders.
Im genuinely interested to see Skyen's thoughts on sexualization with Luna Snow. Shes meant to be a K-pop idol and that is,unfortunately, a big part of the industry
He is perfectly fine with sexualisation when it has a place and that certainly is an example where the sexualisation is there for an actual reason rather than "Is girl so has to be hot".
It's my first time seeing his model, so I like to imagine that when he relaxes his arms they disappear into his torso and underneath he only has feet with no legs.
I feel the horns on Loki are propably mostly taken from the fact Stan Lee didn't knew that much about norse mythology and just kinda went with a lot of ideas from judaism and christianity. I feel like originaly horns on Loki were very devil coded (not to mention Hela who have like, kinda devil implications). The other thing: Jack Kirby really loved to design a iconic hat for his characters. A lot of Kirby designs, have those very extravagant hats. Galactus is very good example of it. Also i am not 100% sure but i think some of the visual language Jack Kirby used in his designs were somewhat inspired by Aztec art? At least i think its where those ideas for headwear and those more geomatric patterns come from Also i remember in some comic books Iron Man armors very much have abs. So i guess its true for character of Tony Stark to make an armor that shows how hot he is under it (and i guess the differences in approach beetwen Rivals Iron Man and Endgame Iron Man is that the Rivals one is single while Endgame one is married)
39:34 Fun fact - Bayonetta is a short queen. Even if we count her silly tower hair and heels she's NOTICABLY shorter than any other character. Exceptions are Enzo (built like a penguin) and children.
15:57 If I recall correctly James Gunn confirmed that Groot from first movie died and new one is more like his son. Btw I remember that someone from Marvel ( maybe Gunn too, idr ) before Groot turned into dust kn Infinity War he called Rocket "dad"
In regards to Loki season 2 skin without spoiling, I think the outfit presents Loki at his most powerful, yet humblest form as a character after all that happened to him in the mcu. He shed his fancy gold details and hard armor for simple cloth and loaafers. He doesn't need them for his new position and can present himself in a form that is comfortable and true for him (except for the horns, since that is such an iconic part of his character now).
I think the intention with Hela's neck piece was to give her the silhouette of a dagger. The mask, neck piece and shoulderpads are the hilt and the gard, the rest of the body is the blade. The green in the horns helps separate they shape from the rest of the upper section.
Ngl really like seeing all the Hawkeye fans giving their civilized disagreements with Skyen and sharing their own opinions and pointing out what they like that he cant really see nor understand.
Kid Loki is a reborn Loki after Sentry killed Loki in Siege. So it’s a Loki without the “sin”, so he proved himself as an ally of Asgard and Thor’s brother, becoming a genuine good guy and hero. And then Loki killed him, old Loki tricked Kid Loki into casting a spell replacing kid Loki with old Loki in a teenage body. A lot of things but Loki effectively turned himself into the god of stories rather than simply lies and that maintains to this day.
This is the first time ive seej someone dislike hawkeyes skin, he looks sick af to me. Also hawkeye has been skilled with a sword for like, decades now lol
I hate how the mcu made the asgardins just weapon characters, Hella for exemple talks so much about souls and all that and yet half of her moveset is just blade projectiles. Thank god Loki is not the "knife boi" he was in the mcu.
Hela's whispy cloak reminds me of the portrayal of Hel in "Jul i Valhal" (which is supect you are familiar with), where she is also cloaked in (an associated with) fog and mist.
I think his Space Kamen Rider skin is meant to be a sneaky reference to his classic costume since the helmet is a similar shape to his original mask, which I think is cool! It's a nice modern re-imagining of a very goofy design

Hawkeye became the Ronin in comics in 2007, he’s used swords for almost two decades at this point consistently. This iteration is a mixture of him as Hawkeye and him as the Ronin, because it’s meant to take place after returning to the avengers post-vigilante arc
He had swords from the start but yeah he went ronin almost 2 decides ago
He was trained by a guy named swordsman too
Something I just noticed about Hela's design is that in her default pose, she looks like a sword, or a dagger.
That is very interesting if it is true
@@tektyrantI think it is. I’ve never been a fan of Helas headpiece but once Skyen pointed out her shoulder and neckpiece, I realized her pointed head gives her a kind of “tip” that looks like you can pick her up like a sword or toss her like a sinister javelin
@@Zer0TheProdigyim just imagining somebody swinging hela like a sword 🤣
@kermitsudoku6446 and now I am imagining her doing a job equivalent to what Fi is to the master sword
In defense of Hawkeye, Ronin is a very classic thing at this point and he always moves past it to be himself again but now with swords. Which I think is kinda hype
And Ronan wasn't even an MCU thing. That was a marvel comics thing. They just added it to the MCU.
Fr
Yeah but they don't need to do it again but in the game.
Adam is quite literally made to be the pinnacle of his alien race, so yes. Every tiny bit of perfection must be achieved. Even his name references the importance of his "birth".
His birth name was literally just “HIM”, bro was literally built different
There's nothing to prevent more characters being added later
@@halfmettlealchemist8076yeah they forgot he was HIM
@@hellkaiser1366 This shit ain’t nothing to HIM man. We smoking symbiotes
That’s what I was thinking too
Adam Warlock is an alien that was genetically engineered at birth to be perfect. That's why he looks like that. He's a custom creation character by his parents. Classic Miranda from Mass Effect sorta situation.
Adam was made by humans in the comics, so i'm not sure what he qualifies as human or not.
And then at some point he ended up with Kate Bishop... and now he has a whole infinity comics series around him
"Look at all those useless pouches, what does he even keep in there?"
I don't know-his keys, probably? Snacks? It's what I'd put there.
There is a really cool detail worth checking out. In lore section each character has a signature which is a really cool detail that gives them even more character.
Never noticed that! That's really cool
Shame 3BSkyen skipped over my favorite bit of personification that Loki has. The freaking cheeky snap that Loki does when he swaps with his clone is so cool in its simplicity and it really gives off the energy that Loki is just showing off
The weirdest thing in this game to me so far is that there's no Deadpool considering he's a character that would objectively fit really really well into a shooter like this
Theres still time. I'd expect him to be added at some point.
There are leaks of him being added soonish
They can’t blow their whole load at once, Deadpool is insanely popular so his addition is definitely inevitable
He's VERY likely to get added in the future. Deadpool's popularity is so high devs would be stupid to pass on him
The cake is where Tony keeps the life raft in case of a crash landing

Thank you !
Hello Mr Skyen, Lord of ADHD. You may have skipped over ALL the abilities for Iron Fist and Iron Man, and Iron Man's mvp animations. Not asking you to go back just saying you blew past them after being distracted by Boss Baby Riven and then AI Iron Man and his ass plates.
it's crazy how much he has to say with no script or time to think before. I always appreciate someone who just gets their raw thoughts out
Not all heroes wear capes. Which is also works considering the subject of Marvel superhero design, many of which dont actually wear capes
45:04 no, Odin’s are ravens, not crows
Different bird, different symbology
Jeff is adorable to hide the warcrimes he commits every time I queue up
One thing that Skyen didn't really talk about enough was the idle animations for Iron Fist.
Yeah he’s the gentle giant type, he should have some softer simpler features despite being an angular tree monster.
His head also resembles the shape of a leaf, at least to me.
I also thought about it. When TB Skyen started saying "Multiple limbs this and hollow trunk that" I thought "Yeah, cool, ALTHOUGH it will make him alien to the audience, less sympathetic maybe even"
he understands the intent
Hawkeye becoming ronin and using swords is pretty important to his character. I'm glad they implemented both aspects of his character in this game
Me too. But it's sad that Skyen kinda overlooked that aspect.
To have it JUST be the archer part of Hawkeye would make him feel bland and limited.
My only knowledge of Norse mythology is from overly sarcastic productions but this seems pretty accurate
It was interesting hearing you talk about Hawkeyes outfit. Since I’ve mostly heard positives, I liked the other perspective. Personally I think it’s really clever to combine the Ronin and classic Hawkeye costumes.
I look forward to these yap sessions Skyen, thank you 🙏🏿
Same here

Some observations
- You forgot to see the Iron Man MVP
- Sometimes you forgot to see the first appearance in some skins, for Example, Hela Empress of Cosmos (Original of Marvel Rivals) or even some recolors, like Jeff Adopted Avenger
So with the first appearance you can search to compare the desings, maybe like addition to next videos
- Some emotes are from a pack of the skins, like for example, Doctor Strange God of Magic, the emote of that skin its the staff he use in that comic, or MCU skins, a emote reference something of the movies or series
15:55 For the MCU specifically, the Groot from the 2nd Guardians movie and onwards is considered the son/offspring of the 1st movie Groot. In the comics it's considered reincarnation.
Loki's helmet is basically just an exaggerated riff on the trope of the viking horned helmet.
Since no one else has said it - Yes, it did sound like he said "Iron Man" underneath his breath at 1:00:08 , Skyen. You didn't hallucinate that
stop gaslighting
Jeff, my sweet perfect shark child.
I think it be helpful to know in the lore of the game, the Wakandan empire is sponsoring a global resisantance, which explains Captain America working with them
Watching thit plus maximilian dood's and Lilly's is awesome because they all disagree at some point I like hearing their different Prespectives.
It's always so fascinating when different artists who are experienced in character design have wildly different opinions on the same thing. It's awesome
Agreed 👏

22:03 “why’s it called Freefall?”
Ignores the “First appeared in Hawkeye: Freefall”
he said, "was" not "why," referencing the comic he said he had read
@ that is…certainly a sentence.
So to quickly answer about Adam Warlocks dorito bod, in the comics he was an artificial alien designed by a crazy alien race obsessed with genetic purity to be their ubermensh leader, but instead he becomes a space hippy wizard druid- that the premise at least
Also those iron man energy gloves on Cap in the last vid were magnetic and the idea is he uses them to attract the shield to him- it was in the movies, they have it often in the comics, but it is communicated only by the blue glow on the gloves and the shield so i agree it doesn't really work in this design
Death and hela are separate characters in marvel
Also bruh he skipped the mvps for iron man
Yeah. Death in marvel be a skeleton.
Not like anyone who plays him sees it anyway. /s
8:28 With Adam, he was basically made to be the perfect being and worshipped as a god by an alien cult. Thus, it actually makes sense for him to both yolked and over the top with his outfit.
Multiple alien cults if you also include The Magus.
He was made by humans in the comics.
@@KhaosKontrollerI agree with you, but it honestly is kind of funny so I like it.
In Mythology Hel gifted Odin his 2 crows, so she actually is aligned with crows. Especially with the whole 'being death' deal.
Yea marvel norse mythology is very different from what it's from but each of the small details like that at least justify the names.
Sorry, huge norse guy here, where are you getting that hel gave him his ravens? I've been scouring and i cannot find that anywhere!
odin has ravens not crows tho, no?
Based on what I an seeing online. Odin has 2 ravens not crows and there is no origin of where they came from. They just always with him. So where you getting info that states Hel specifically gifted them to Odin
@@Carnival_soda
He's just making shlt up.
Me sitting waiting for him to talk about the best girl, Squirrel Girl.
Also side note, Skyen "man why did they make cosmic hela sexy?"
Me trying desperately to hide Death and her design
The Hawkeye comic han mentions is Hawkeye by Matt Fraction & David Aja published in 2012. And yes it's really really good more a slice of life cape comic.
Was just scrolling to see if someone else had answered that. One of my favorite runs!
That's valid
Jeff's dolphin costume is canonical, as he got it after he caused a scare at a pool party once. He's also got dozens of outfits in his short online comic, so tons of room for extra skins. 😁
I’m so glad that TBSkyen also understands that Jeff is the most perfect, precious, bestest boi.
Saw a comment on the last video with someone saying he has Golden ratio symbols or something to that extent on his cape, so that tracks
Skyen: look they jiggle hehehehehe sorry I got distracted there
I have heard many a man say this in games but never quite in this context haha.
Lol. Indeed😂 at least with the default and ultimate.
Youre thinking of matt fraction's "my life as a living weapon". Pretty much THE hawkeye comic lol
Hawkeye in this game is mostly serious tho
Ye but why, theres already loads of serious characters
@@Motleydoll123 that's just green arrow in injustice 2 lol
55:08 idk if its just me, but the way the bandages were wrapped on his right arm just feels so right and i love the animator's/designer's detail, since looking at the bandages, it is just one continous wrap atleast from the arms all the way up to his biceps but theres a gap in between the elbow cause when you wrap your joints with bandages or any other cover, it becomes loose or its too tight to give you a wide range of motion
Man I can't wait for part 3, part 4 and part 5, all of them will be feature film length
I think that's just a tidbit from the comics that they carried over. She also ages extremely slowly due to a serum in the main continuity as well.
Odin has ravens, his favorite two being Muninn and Huginn who function as both spys and pets and like to perch on his shoulders.
he could follow up his "Jeff is perfect" joke, moving on with Loki right there and i would be fine with it. Jeff is really perfect
18:00 your thinking of hawkeye: my life as a weapon matt fraction and david aja. my favourite marvel comic
It's my first time seeing his model, so I like to imagine that when he relaxes his arms they disappear into his torso and underneath he only has feet with no legs.
focused so hard on the ironman butts that he forgot to look at the MVPs for him XD but great keep up!
At least i think its where those ideas for headwear and those more geomatric patterns come from
Also i remember in some comic books Iron Man armors very much have abs. So i guess its true for character of Tony Stark to make an armor that shows how hot he is under it
(and i guess the differences in approach beetwen Rivals Iron Man and Endgame Iron Man is that the Rivals one is single while Endgame one is married)
Him dunking on hawkeye so much, i love how the whole fan base really liked it including myself.
Adam is literally made to be the pinnicle of everthing a living being can be, so i think him being muscular makes sense.
I feel like the shoulder pieces on Ella are trying to mimic a sword with the global shape of the body
loki back arch is craaaaaazzzyyy work, the hip cutouts in the frost pallette swap too whew!
To be honest I like those videos with less preparation, I think it's natural like talking to a friend.
I'm also on the same board of disagreeing with Skyen on his opinions with Hawkeye even though I'm not an uber fan but more of a casual fan.
1:20:02 Missed opportunity to say "and a hawk too"
Kid Loki is a reborn Loki after Sentry killed Loki in Siege.
Its all my fault. Thanks self for making skynen yap, love it
I hate how the mcu made the asgardins just weapon characters, Hella for exemple talks so much about souls and all that and yet half of her moveset is just blade projectiles.
Thank god Loki is not the "knife boi" he was in the mcu.
Jeff is love
Jeff is life
Jeff is shrek
Hela's whispy cloak reminds me of the portrayal of Hel in "Jul i Valhal" (which is supect you are familiar with), where she is also cloaked in (an associated with) fog and mist.
I wish modern media wasnt so afraid of putting Hawkeye in his old triangular mask
I think his Space Kamen Rider skin is meant to be a sneaky reference to his classic costume since the helmet is a similar shape to his original mask, which I think is cool! It's a nice modern re-imagining of a very goofy design
@@halfmettlealchemist8076 I was coming here to say that. The space skin is totally his classic costume just with a super sentai overhaul. Even has the H on his belt.
@@HobGunganI legit think if that was his base design for the game it would fit, they could just say he’s from 2099 or something like captain America is, or if they want to keep him in the modern era just get rid of the wakanda symbols
