Omg!!! I am from the Berkshires!!!! Went to school there my whole life and raised my kids there…. Not a place for those looking for nightlife… IS a place for those looking for quiet, nature, hiking, wonderful place to raise a family..❤️
Hi Michael, it's called taxachusetts for a reason... however the real estate taxes are far more favorable here than in many parts of New York right next door. As a young professional I have been offered jobs time and time again, in my opinion there is plenty of opportunity here and many businesses are very open about their struggle to hire and lack of candidates. I also know many individuals with well paid engineering jobs, trades people, medical professionals etc. Naturally there are more jobs in larger cities but there is opportunity here if you're looking for it.
That really depends on what you are being taxed for. In Albany NY there is a state sales tax, and county taxes that amounted to over 8% in the late 1990s /early 00's. Mass. did away with county government in the Berkshires, and the state tax was (and still is) around 6 percent. Also, as a military retiree, my pension isn't taxed by the state; not true in a lot of other places.

You have a nice presentation style, however, it would be great if you could include some pictures, videos of the things you are talking about.
I was born in Northampton. Once you have lived there it's hard to get New England out of your mind.
Christmas in Berkshires is the best!!
Love the Berkshires. As a matter of fact I own a house there .
Awesome. So helpful. Thank you.
Of course! Appreciate the positivity🙏
I and my body hate the cold, I have never been on ski's , slipping on ice sucks ....

Mighty lonely in that little corner. Although beautiful country,
It’s what you make of it! There’s community if that’s what you’re looking for.

Taxes aren't that high in MA.
Thats why a lot of people commute from Vermont, into MA for Jobs. I myself live in VT, but commute into Pittsfield MA. Its the best of both worlds.
