Simply timeless music. Best thing about this hit is, that even almost all children love the melody and keep it deep in mind. Years later appraciate to find it again and even with 50 years of age still love it.
This is the authentic, gigantic hit version of "Popcorn". It sold a million in both the US and France, with almost a million more worldwide. Lead player Stan Free, a great NYC studio pianist, played this on stage with its brilliant composer, Gershon Kingsley, as half of the "First Moog Quartet" at Carnegie Hall in 1970. If you like this, Kingsley's own Moog rendition is here on RUclips and it's even better. I remember when this song was a hit- it was used as the theme for something called "Snippets", mini-sketches aired on Boston's WKBG-TV 56 and its sister stations in Detroit, Cleveland and other cities. I was 15 then; the bits were on between reruns of shows like "The Flintstones" and "Gilligan's Island". The studio was right next to the old Boston Globe plant on Morrissey Boulevard. This is a Peruvian (!) 45; the Stateside release was on Musicor, the label owned by Brill Building writer/entrepreneur Aaron Schroeder (he wrote some huge Elvis hits and produced Gene Pitney). Soon after, Schroeder retired and closed his operation- what a way to end his career!
Schroeder by then was no longer involved with Musicor; he had sold the label in the mid-1960's to Talmadge Productions (run by Art Talmadge), while tending to his music publishing holdings (including January, Sea-Lark and Arch, which he acquired after Dick Clark was forced to sell all his music holdings in 1960 in the aftermath of payola hearings); he held copyrights to songs from such composers as Randy Newman, Tony Macaulay, Al Kooper, and Barry White. As for this, the first 20 seconds I remember being used by WPIX Channel 11 in New York from about 1972-73 to the mid-1970's for their Sunday morning and afternoon movie blocks (it was starting within this time period that Sunday mornings' first films on WPIX would be an Abbott & Costello film, as it would be well into the late 1980's). The morning movie (designated 'Part 1') had a quarter cut circle in "groovy" pattern design at top left; the early afternoon film ('Part 2') had top left and bottom right; the later afternoon film ('Part 3') added the top right to that circle. All were stationary slides; none of them had film or video animation as would be after 1975 or so.

In the 70's one of my father's restaurants was a place called "Hamburger Habit". There was also a "Tasty Freeze" soft serve ice cream on one side. We loved "working" there as kids and playing POPCORN on the Jukebox.
I love the lyrics, notably the line "pop pop" More seriously: tried this masterpiece on my 7-year old kid. End result: instant crush, it drives him crazy. We are laughing so hard.
I first hear d this song in the movie Drowning Mona. Phil gets killed and Bobby's fiance initially thought Bobby did it. She fled to the police station during this song. Dark Comedy at it's finest.
que tan difícil sera tocar esta melodía en la batería, de los videos que he visto tocando la batería ninguno lo hace igual... o mas o menos igual... si estará muy difícil? y de esta melodía es lo que mas me gusta, la batería precisamente.
i just listened to a popcorn version with 17 million views but i never liked that one the tempo was to slow for me. even classical music has to jazzed up for my liking

how can there be no comments for this awesome song
Everybody's fingers are too greasy to type!!!!!!!
Simply because THIS IS NOT A SONG but just a melody.!! A song would imply lyrics and a person to sing them !!!!
Ohhh I'm a tax attorney oh jeeez
I love the lyrics, notably the line "pop pop"

My first electronic music and my first song that I loved

I bought this LP in 1972.
First time ever hearing this song
My mom had the "Hot Butter" album when I was little. This is the sound of my childhood. I actually prefer the cover to the original.
1972______2021

AWESOME
I have an English single of this (not with the RCA label, but with the Pye International label) with At the Movies on the B-side
Who remembers the science program that had this theme on BBC back n't 70s ? Maybe I was tripping 😄
this sounds more like the version i heard when i was kid
This is likely the original version. The first version.
Exactly I had this 45 ! I never knew there were so many 'other' versions !!
It is.
Esta es la mejor versión de todas.
La andaba buscando ahora sí a descargarla y escucharla
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I know this song all because of the video game known as Pengo. Released by SEGA in 1982.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤!!!!!!!!!!!
Still have the LP.
1969 the best version...
Very different to the 1969 song i think organs had improved a lot in 3 years
The original Sunday Morning Movie intro
Still got the 45
what can you say about this track but fantastic.
Creo está canción era de una comiquita pero no recuerdo el nombre
Could this song have been the grandfather of EDM (Electronic Dance Music)??
For sure! Acid House starts at 0:04.
Another great instrumental is "Joy" by Apollo 100.
Can't compare with "Frankenstein" by Edgar Winter, IMO.
