Until I saw her Backyard Session on Crave where she sings Gimme More I didn't like her much. The First time I heard of her was around the time she did Wrecking Ball and to be honest I found it a bit on the trashy side. I'm into Prog Rock mainly but being a musician on many instruments, I like many styles of music too but I have to admit, Pop is low on my list so... maybe I'm a bit biased here. None the less, I believe she has grown out of that phase and I find that her newly acquired maturity suits her well. As for her singing... that rasp in her voice, I'm really liking it. She is articulated and has good pitch, not like mega star Bruce Springsteen for example. She's a good singer and she found a new fan in me. I'm not ready to buy her albums yet but who knows?

Perhaps if it was Wrecking Ball because that's a well written, produced and performed song. But it's Party in the U.S.A. which was most popular among her Hannah Montana fans and not true music aficionados. Sales are sales but critical recognition is also an important measure of success.

The most shocking thing about this interview to me is that Miley says essentially that the mullet was an accident, because she let her mom cut her hair, and if I'm not misunderstanding, she says she "hated it" at first! What shocks me about this is that the cut is extremely close to how Joan Jett had her hair in 2017, and when Joan puts her hair behind an ear, it still looks like that. I thought for sure the cut was deliberate, to look like Joan's.

The 70’s look came back in style in the early 2000’s. It went away then athletes started dressing like they were in the 80’s.
