I loved the birth scenes. Most TV makes giving birth so sterilized- a few moans, a couple of pushes, and after mere minutes this fully cleaned off child supposedly direct from the womb is placed in the arms of a mother who acts like she just went through a vigorous spinning class instead of the ordeal of giving birth- and I hate it. Giving birth is painful and messy and the closest thing to true body horror that human beings regularly go through, and this show finally did it justice.

They were used to portray women with men that didn’t value them as much as the women valued the men. We only see Cole and the princess have genuine sex and that’s mostly revenge sex against Daemon

They messed up many aspects of the book pretty badly. Fire and Blood volume one had none of this. The only thing I’m looking forward to next season now is hopefully meeting Jeyne Arryn, one of the few gay female characters in the series, and her lover Lady Jessamyn.
