Charlie Hopkinson is a comedic impressionist, impersonator, voice guy, whatever you want to call it who specialises in voices from current television shows and films. His standup is a character act about a retired maths teacher, his standup set includes impressions of Sir David Attenborough, Robin Williams, Morgan Freeman, Liam Neeson, Peaky Blinders, Tommy and Arthur Shelby and Gandalf from Lord of the Rings.
Always looking to update my roster I look to try out subscriber suggested impressions in the impressions challenge series before honing the best ones. Recently I have added Peaky Blinders and Marvel / Avengers characters to my arsenal!

Dubs - Comedic dubs of iconic scenes with new dialogue, (My Peaky Blinders and Lord of The Rings dubs have grossed over 6 million views on Facebook)

I started learning impressions in 2012, at the age of 20. You can follow my full impressions journey in my new ‘How to do impressions’ tutorial series
After graduating from the University of Warwick in the summer 2013 he took 4 months out to concentrate on RUclips videos full time, including producing his most viewed video to date ‘Morgan Freeman and 40 other impressions’ with just over 12 million views. This foray into being a ‘full time RUclipsr’ was cut short as he went travelling for 3 months before starting a 2 year teaching Graduate scheme with Charity ‘Teach First’.
While teaching he has performed in and narrated the 4 episode series ‘Lookalikes’ as Morgan Freeman. The show and the narration received a positive reception. The show aired on Channel 4 during the prime time slot of Friday 10pm for three weeks. It is now currently available on Netflix. Charlie also performed with other well known impressionists for an unaired pilot.
Charlie has worked for several prominent brands in relation to their products, including google and formula 1.
Since the summer of 2016 Charlie has once again dived into the world of RUclips, for the first time producing content on a weekly basis. He is also focusing on live performance; he has performed in live venues a total of 3 times to date.

I didn't realize how unbelievably low the exposure of the HOTD show was till I watched this commentary. Even when they were filming in full sunlight look like they were shot in an unlit closet. Respect to you for filming with cleaner post production than the $200m show.

Speaking of deleting only episodes 3&4: anyone remember when Netflix were streaming video, but also still mailing out DVDs? They'd have a show that ran for 6 seasons, but wouldn't have season 5 streaming and you'd have to get the DVDs. Sometimes they'd be missing an episode here and there, but it wouldn't say so. It would just have 8 out of 10 episodes, and number them 1-8. I'd go years thinking i watched the entire series only to discover a clip from an episode i never knew even f'cking existed.

Your videos in this series are what made me give GoT a chance. For so long I was just against it, but after watching these I decided to give it a shot and it's pretty solid. Admittedly I've only seen the first season so far (and that was like 3 months ago) but I liked it.

Does Tyrion really get to comment on incest when his own parents are cousins and his siblings had 3 kids together?
Does that mean he had to approve and applaud it? "My parents were alcoholics and my siblings are all homeless addicts and thieves, therefore I fully defend recreational use of strong drugs"? If anything that would make him more defensive and outspoken against it. Assuming it's even frowned on in his world, which I doubt in the case of his parents. The idea that cousins can't marry is a modern thing from the last couple of centuries and only in the West. Especially in noble families where bloodlines and power structures are the overriding consideration. Siblings is usually much more taboo, unless they are Egyptian nobility. And again that was essentially political.

Interestingly is just reading somewhere that in most cultures, and actually in European cultures until the last century or so, marrying an uncle to a niece was considered a totally normal and even desirable thing. And anything but a first cousin or closer. In a lot of places and times if it wasn't a sibling or direct ancestor, you were good to go. They still do it in many places. It's actually an uncles duty to marry his niece if his brother dies, because the son gets the inheritance.

That's how they usually got named. It's whatever people remember most about you. And I always assumed that had more than one meaning, it wasn't just referring to his physical injuries. I don't know, I haven't watched the show. I'm still waiting to finish the books first, although I have accepted that is probably not going to happen until after GRR Martin is dead and some other author comes in to "edit his manuscripts" and publish them. Still a lot of money to be made there, no chance they will just not publish them, unless he like specifically refuses to allow it on his estate. And I almost wouldn't put it past him. "If I won't finish them, I sure as hell won't let anyone else do it either, and make me look bad".
