- Changing it up from the usual ocean Rockfish, Surf Perch, Striper and Salmon videos. Met up today with Zico, Bay and Beyond Fishing, to explore my home town of San Francisco. Fished all new waters to me and had a great time. There is so much water to fish in the bays and lots to explore and learn. Great video for SF folks, I grew up doing that stuff on my bmx all over the bay.. Also, shows what fishing is all about, exploring, always having hope, and always having a good time with your friends!

You could start a line of Mens dress shoes for fishing lol. 2nd, your content is interesting, no wonder Matts watches all the way through. The city scenes, interactions with others, music, editing and only 8 months in? ...you got this. I'm on.
More of these videos brother!! I love them even if you catch small fish. Most of us that are loyal to you do not care how big the fish you catch but how we can relate! But in my humble opinion, is that at least you are out on the water instead of staying indoors. May the God of fishing be with you! Take care brother and many more fishing videos.

If yall were able to walk to Heron's Head Park (not too far from the painted building), the end of the trail leads to open sea. Might be able to catch some perch and smelt, just need a bobber to make sure your line doesn't get snagged.

I enjoy the catch and cooks. This was interesting but i prefer the relaxing beauty of the outdoors.
I've used to live in the Bay area, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Oakland, Napa, Sac. We used to fish the bay all the time. I think we fished Ravenswood Pier? This was around 1990 but It's been a minute man. We would go out there, long walk and fish Tiger and Sand Shark. Then give them away back in the parking lot. Lots of fun. We used giant dead shad. It was so windy out there. Go fishing for Shark!

Hey Fisherman’s life if you want to catch keeper flattys you really gotta do a split shot rig with a 1/0 octopus hook with a live Chovy. Works every time.

Hey dude I been watching your videos..I'm also from San Francisco Bay area specialist on pier fishing..a great tip for catching halibut and striped bass keepers is to fish those drop zones with live bait ..don't be fooled on the size catch you can make from land...I've caught a 42 inch striper from shore..i recommend using live jacksmelt..the bigger the bait the bigger the fish..email me for questions bud.and keep up these amazing videos!
Matts, I’m diggin these urban fishing vids. Can’t get enough of em. I fish a lot of secret spots in the Long Beach area and it’s just like that. Win some and lose some, but it always amazes me to hook up in the midst of the city. Make more of these vids bro. You got my thumbs up!

I fish for halibut in the same spot, fishfinder rig with gulp shrimp serves me well color nevwr makes a difference for me, also found out its very similar to a flounder where once you feel the bit stop and give it 4 seconds then set the hook. Sweet video!!!

I live in SOMA and I see that area a lot. It is cool to see folks fishing around there. You are right about never seeing fishermen around there.
matt, if you are switching up things then head over to the delta or aqueducts. or to the lakes for blue gills and crappies. and if you really want some experience, try carp fishing.. those fish will give you some good fight!

The Illinois bridge is a great perch spot. So is off the dock Across the street where y’all where at. I fish there a few times a month. Never fail spot for me. I wish I was there I would put you on.

Port Costa is a fun place to fish. By the restaurant and train tracks. I fish there all the time when I vacation from Arizona

As a thought you might try running some shallow to medium depth hard baits like the lucky craft, Daiwa SP or Rapala XR-12 model avoiding the bottom moss piles. In that clear water the lures will score fish and its fun to watch the explosions when bitten. You can take the hardbaits to many S,F locations and score quite well on halibut, striped bass, and variety of other species using the same techniques surf anglers use with the hardbaits.

Awesome vid! Great editing, I like the change-ups with conversation/eating, background info, etc...also cool to be fishing with another fishing enthusiast in what seemed to be an almost unfished area.
we use to come out there all the time. After they tore up the whole spot not a lot of people go. Theres usually a herring run every year.

Great video -- shows people that the Bay is alive with fish and what looks like an urban wasteland is really a playground for fisherman. Sierra Point and Oyster Point are other great places to have a different fishing experience -- next to office parks and dog walkers there are stripers and rays. Keep changing it up!
