I simple closed the holes at the top of the subframes with some black silicone, this stops the water getting in to begin with. So no need to drill any holes👌🏻
I just put money down to reserve one yesterday. Hopefully they will begin hitting the U.S. around the first of the year. My hope is they will come with the issue already resolved, but if not, I’ll get my drill out 😎 Thanks for the video!
It's a 30€ sub frame part. Why bother??? If i was worried about it i would remove the part, drill a hole at the end of the tube, dry all the water, insert acf50 or cavity wax and plug the holes. The "problem" is a clip wich allows water to get in. Just remove it forever and also plug it. Run the wires with external tube clip. But again... i wont even bother
@@enricobononi8655 pretty much what is done in the video. The info is only a Google search away. Im in Australia and the dealer corrected the problem under a recall notice.
@@gillescafedjian1381 it is not the frame, this part doesn't support bike so you have no issue with drilling it. You cannot simply locate where water entering and even if you seal entrence ther will be water alredy stuck inside the pipe ,
There is an official cfmoto service bulletin, reserved to dealers (you can find it online) showing exactement where and how to drill a 5mm hole. They say newer parts will come with the problem solved
@@revieweverythingforyou282 Agree. Not part of the frame. It is the same as the Tenere 700. It is a down tube designed to attach the bash plate. It can be easily replaced when damaged.

Ok thanks will see
Close the water entry place with the gummy rubber. Take it to a professional welder if he can just weld seal the subframe entry holes.

@@msims1250 probably they will drill hole alredy. Tnx
Those holes will get clogged by rust in no time especially if you are planning to tap them with the rubber. Make them larger and leave them open
@@enricobononi8655 tnx for suggestion
It will be much easier and fast tu put some silicon glue where the water enter...😊
@@etzap61 yes if you drain all the water, dry inside the pipe and put some antirust chemical and than close the entrance
Im no rocket scientist but my bet is that it would have been better to drill the hole on the lowest part of the frame when the bike is upright
@@Prestonesfpv that is lowest part

Take it back to the dealer, CFMOTO issued a recall to fix the issue.

why not plug the hole where the water comes in before you use the motorcycle.

I don't like the idea of drilling the frame. This can weaken the bike. Why not just cover the hole in top ?
