This video was just sent to me from my grandson. This is my dad, Dennis. VE7BYS for 50 years and then VE7DH for the latter part of his life. Dad passed away in 2018 but 167k views on this means that the ham radio community is thriving! I miss Dad but these videos are here for eternity. I hope you're dancing, dad. Love you ❤
+Eric Owens so never did get this radio. I opted for the Flex 6300 instead. For no particular reason. I think I just liked the idea of dabbling into full blown SDR for a change. The 7600 still remains on the top of my list for a super het rig.
My ICOM 7600 is by far the Best Transceiver I have ever owned or used. It’s got a Beautiful display and a great receiver and filtering. It works Amazingly with my ICOM PW-1 Amplifier. It’s been a Perfect HF/6 meter base for me since I purchased it New when my ICOM 756 PROII failed me.I am adding an ICOM 9100 to the desk with it once it arrives later this week.It will serve as my VHF/UHF SSB radio and a backup HF/6 meter radio if needed.👍👏🎙
Luxorion I have the 7600 and my neighbor has the 7800 and we find them pretty equal except for the true dual receiver on the 7800.The 7600 will do dual receive on two different bands if they are within the same passband & I do it often.
Radio Man 7600 hands down in my opinion. I just wish it was a larger radio along the lines of the 7800, 7700,or 7851. I like a big radio with big buttons and big knobs. I love my ICOM 7600 so it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.
WOW,I've had my ICOM 7600 just 2 days now & am Amazed at what it can do.I installed the V.2,0 Firmware update before I even made my 1st contact.Daylight & dark better than the ICOM 756 PROII,ICOM 746 PRO,or ICOM 7000 that I had before purchasing the 7600.The filtering is Awesome but just like in all of the radios I've seen with the Roofing Filters the Roofing Filters are a bunch of Hype & not impressive but just a selling point from what I can tell. The DSP is the Bomb though I must say as is the band scope.Doing RTTY & PSK without a computer is great & wonder how long it will be that they also include the ability too also do keyboard CW like RTTY & PSK? I'm sure it's coming soon. de W4KVW
Tom T I have tried the roofing filters in all types of conditions & still see a minimal condition change with them on.Still think they are a lot of Smoke & Mirrors & I would NOT miss them if they were not installed or included.I operate 99% of the time is SSB so maybe that is why but I don't know since I hate the sound of CW & I do very little Digital stuff either.
Tom T I have antennas for all bands from 160 thru 6 meters so just email me when you want too give it a try & I'm good or QRZ.com. I'm usually free in the afternoon & evenings since I am retired. 73 de Clayton W4KVW North Florida
Uuhhhh, hang on Dennis! Your 7 Multi-Function Switches to the left of the Display, have white paint on the arrow of those buttons. The buttons on my 7600 are full black with NO white on them. ??? Rigpix shows them like mine. So what's up with your buttons? (www.rigpix.com/icom/ic7600.htm)
I LOVE my ICOM 7600 which I use with a RED HEIL FIN and an ICOM PW-1 amplifier. It is a Killer Combination.I would only replace it with an ICOM 7800, ICOM 7851,or another 7600.I would not even consider any touch screen radio and my radio must be an ICOM.

Now I need the 9100 to compliment my 7600
@@Sky1 9100 would be The Bomb if it had the 7600 Display & not that crappy monochrome display. It would outsell every radio on the market hands down.
Hello, one question: how do you get such a smoke purple display? Many thanks Vy73
Choice rig and nice vid

Yeah I think I am going to pick one up on the next Ham Radio Outlet sale!

Dennis, you still using the 7600?
Ótimo, seria de grande uso aqui no Brasi e eu ficaria muito feliz.
Thanks Dennis . Question, can the IC-7600 conveniently record off-air, and playback on-air? Thanks, '73 Bob
bobclarie no playback on the air.
Sounds impressive, but what kind of antenna is being used?
I'm using an Inverted vee 62 feet per side up 45' at the apex
yes cool 73!
When u get a chance cud u compare the ic-7850 with the ic-7851? Do you find the 7600 reliable?
7850 & 7851 are the same radio other than the 7850 was a Numbered Limited Edition with some Gold trim.Everything in them is the same.
