This is actually one of the better live performances of Lick It Up. Imagine if that song was recorded with the original KISS during the 70s. This is what it would've sounded like, and it's awesome.
Jendall714 this is live. They slowed down the recordings that were used for official release to justify the excuse for relieving Peter of drum duties due to slow timing. Listen to the Alive Millennium show and then look up the real footage and you'll see a huge difference in tempo.

I heard there were other songs from the non make up era that Paul and Gene wanted to do but couldn't go ahead with them because of Ace and Peter's inability to be able to perform them. It was even a stretch to get them to do this one and Heaven's on fire.
@@russkate88 interesting I bet forever was one they wanted to do it was one of thier biggest non makeup hits, but ace probably couldn’t play it or was too lazy to try, Peter played in 2003 at symphony show and did it well. Maybe tears are falling was also considered and maybe god gave rock n roll to you, which would be hard for Peter to play i think but Ace I feel Can handle God gave RnR to you and they should’ve brought it back to set list in 2001 when they had Eric singer back and ace would’ve been able to play it.

Ive never been a huge fan of the album versions of their songs but very few bands can put on a live show like Kiss. They are incredible

Technically Ace and Peter were still in the band, just not touring or recording. They were still under contract well into the 1980's.
