I'm only 4 minutes in but I'm anticipating that I'll really enjoy this. You're getting close to my old stomping ground. You should head up Cooktown way and fish fish for Spaniards and GTs near the wharf at the mourh or the Endeavour River. Bonus is, you're only about 10km to the reef as well. I've seen metre long Spaniards cough off the wharf. I once got spool on a hand line with 150lb line. I just couldn't hold it and was hoping in vain that the line had been tied on to the reel. Oh, Leathermans are guaranteed for life. I always carry my Rebar.
A comment from Zoffinger!!! Goals! I’ve watched your channel Marty since the Little red DIY kayak, even had the same model in blue as my first fishing kayak👍
Yewwwww! 20K subscribers Rod, good on ya Bro! Just so you know, your skiff is much better and far more versatile than most of those other larger boats. Another great vid. Can't wait for part 2!
Thanks Bill, yea once you get all the gear there is actually pretty comfortable craft and can do most trips. Also good when the tide goes out and you can still drag it to the water if needed👌
Cant wait for the next upload Rod. This vid reminds me of Josh Holmes' trips on his Hobie Adventure Island yearly to Fraser. a lot of good fish caught, spaniards, big goldens, cobia, longtail, the list goes on.
Yea I used to talk to Paulo one of the guys that would go on the trip with them that live up this way. Always got me excited to do the trip up. Such a great spot👌
When I was young a ran 120 KM in a canoe, in a river in Northern Ontario, I know how broken feels, but still made good memories. Imagine that guy that sailed the Atlantic in a micro sail boat. I like guys that challenge themselves like you and I, most can't leave their phone alone flfor day, good job bud, tough young fella, you'll do well in life.
Dear Rokkit Kit. Thanks for living the dream for those who are still yet chained, but who are endeavouring to break free. Please pal. The suspense is life threatening. When can we expect the next installment. Thanks. G
Haha, not sure if the dream is quite achieved... work, kids and family stuff is still the priority for sure, but I cant complain if I get a nice trip like this in. Ill have part 2 up this Saturday around 8am. Will see if I can get the final part 3 up on Sunday but will see how late i can stay awake editing :)
Amazing video RodKITKIT I love the Fraser Island fishing videos and I love the footage, the content, and the RUclips channel RodKITKIT Keep up the amazing work RodKITKIT !! RodKITKIT you are my Favourite fisherman in the whole wide world !! And also RodKITKIT you are my idol fisherman as well !! I can’t wait for the Fraser Island part 2 !!
Awesome channel, can't believe I just found it. I have a lot of videos to watch now. Keep up the great content. I can't wait to travel/fish in Australia/New Zealand one day. Cheers.
I visited Fraser Island many many years ago and it is still fresh in my memory. What an amazing beautiful place. I would have loved to go fishing there, but didn't have time.
+lindsay obrien I was figuring we would never see a catch video part 2 until he mentioned he was going after juvenile fish. I thought "he's definitely going to die when he hooks a decent fish."
LoL @ him cutting the trigger grip off his bait caster rod!! 😅😂🤣😂🤣 I think i would have cut a nitch in my rod holder, before i buggered up and compromised my rod by customizing it in ANY way, especially by way of removing parts with a saw. LoL. But hey...he knows what he's doing, usually 😉
Hey Rob Paul here from The Hook and The Cook loved this clip buddy. I know what it’s like to film for two days and no fish but that’s what makes it real well done should hook up for Calab one day living up here in Noosa now cheers Great channel 👍
Hey Rob you can always contact me or pm on our Face book page buddy have a good one. Alway good for the channel to do a calab we have about the same subs. Just bought a new boat perfect all rounder. Pick it up in Two weeks can’t wait. Cheers for getting back have a good one 👍
Great video as usual and just like you I found a Swiss army knife when I was fly-fishing more than 20 yrs ago and still using it as my go-to tool, go figure.
🇺🇸Awesome video, great camera work, what an adventure! Glad to see you’re living life thanks for letting us have a peek. Have a great day, keep up the great work, stay adventurous we need more people like you!🇺🇸
I’m guessing your not still out there! Would of been very bad weather to be out there now! With all the storms we have been getting! Love the photo you have taken! Wow! If we knew you could of called by our place! For a home cooked meal! Trevor and I would of loved to have you! Anyway hope you had a magical trip! Fraser Island is one big island man!
I have something similar but it’s inflatable! I get tons of compliments. I have only got 1 negative comment “get a real boat”. I don’t give a dam what they think 🤔. It’s all about exceeding the limits and having fun. Looking forward for part 2.
Cant wait for the other parts of this trip Amazing editing wishing you the best of luck, hope that finger of yours is better ? Are you getting surgery on it or will u leave it be
What brand of rod holders are you using? Obviously you have one of the best brands. I want quality obviously and don't want the holder to snap of break when I get a strike while trolling. Thanks for an amazing video! Just awesome! I'm in Unionville Markham Ontario Canada. Hopefully I can purchase the same rig you have. We sell Tohatsu motors here, but very few dealers. I'd probably go with a Yammie or Etec. Honda are extremely reliable but they still use a carburetor and it's not ideal trolling motor for long distance and cold starts
I've been waiting a long time to give this one a watch and today there is absolutely nothing interesting on my RUclips so I guess I'm going to Frasier Island.
I know its too late but take a look if your outboard has a power outlet most of them do all you have to do is add a rectifier/regulator in small outboards its just a few watts but it will keep your batterys charged
Haha, thanks Mal, funnily enough I think over the next few years things like RUclips, Twitch and Streaming services like Netflicks and Prime will dominate regular TV and Cable in a big way... if they aren't already. Will be interesting to see how the TV shows and all their sponsors attempt to make the switch... interesting times ahead, as the fishing industry seems to be one of the slowest to take new media seriously, but it is upon them now in a big way.
Like your video because it shows a sense of adventure and a great location. Other fishing shows can get a bit dull. The good shows are more like travel documentaries with a fishing theme. Your video reminds me of the first Leyland Brothers documentary where they jumped in a small boat with a cheap movie camera and went off in search of adventure.
Hi Rod. Did you catch up with the Jet Skiers that headed to Wathumba Creek the same day you departed? Spotted your skiff in their drone footage. Looked awesome! Keep up the great work. Your hard yards (400km) are appreciated. :)
Love your Videos. What’s the side roof rack covers by noodle when you unload your boat, I use a metal pipe tight up by a rope on the roof rack to load or unload my kayak, it looks unsafe. Where do you bought it?
Hey bro, which roof rack you using? and is it a universal one? I have a holden caprice and i really want to get a kayak, so been looking for one that I can put on and remove. Always watch your videos buddy, looking forward to the next parts!!
How much did that skiff cost roughly? That's really cool mate! I need one in my life for the days I don't want to take out my 7m bass boat or my 9m Sea Ray cabin cruiser! Subbed and look forward to checking out your other vids! Cheers!
@@rokkitkit My pleasure. I'm going to look into getting one before winter is up here in the States. There are many places near me that I cant get my bass boat in to because of absolutely no where to launch and this would be excellent since I could just roll it down to the water anywhere.

But don't bring that little boat, its a bit small for the lizard's
Saltwater crocodile numbers continue to increase around Australia's tropical coast so definitely avoid any sort of small boat activity.
@@peterhavord5984 no doubt!
Big Trip Rod !!
High expectations, Great weather !!!
Fingers Crossed for a Baby Black coming your way !!!
Looking forward to Pt 2.
I applaud your spirit! No strange looks from me ;^)
A comment from Zoffinger!!! Goals! I’ve watched your channel Marty since the Little red DIY kayak, even had the same model in blue as my first fishing kayak👍
Hello Marty 👋! It’s nice to see you here :)
pro trick : watch movies on flixzone. I've been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.
@Jayden Davian Definitely, have been using flixzone} for years myself =)

Don’t know much about these small boats but I absolutely love Fraser Island cheers from Oklahoma, USA
I used to go fishing with a tohatsu 9.8HP, a tank of fuel, rods, baits, lifejack, foods, many many things. Your video reminds me of that.

Pretty sweet adventure! I know you've got hours and hours of footage to edit.... Can't wait to see more!

Thanks Andy! yep next one coming this Saturday. Maybe part 3 Sunday if I can push through the editing... Man the special trips take so long!
There's a thin line between adventure and lunacy. I believe that you've smashed through that line.
No way! I think we can go way crazier :)

Awesome!
Thought for sure you would have went this trip with the turtle loving your videos man
I like to do the solo trips sometimes. Helps let you run your own race and focus. But I’m sure we will have a crack at it together at some point👍
Well this isn't for the inebriated folk. Cheers and best of luck ttyn.
What's kind of boat is that? Looks awesome
