The words of this song are so applicable to the discord that is going in the world, and sadly right here in the United States. Love "The Soul Stirrers." Thanks for sharing.
This brought back so many memories of my dad. He loved the soul stirrers and Sam Cook. This is a beautiful song. I wish someone would redo just like the original for people of today because we sure can use some hammering of love.
My 6 brothers & sisters used to sing this song in Church programs! My parents would have us practice our harmonies to this song! What beautiful memories!
This is double the tempo and for a totally different crowd, this would have never flown at the copa. This is for the Chicago crowd brother, not for those new york city slickers.
@@9175rock Supposedly, people here have never heard any other "This Hammer" including the original. Rogers is faithfully tracing the melisma that Sam Cooke performed at the Copa. I highly recommend cleaning your ears.
@@SoNoFTheMoSt It's no secret that Willie Rogers is one of Sam Cooke's successors and faithful reenactors. And Sam Cooke grew up in Chicago and followed in the footsteps of R.H.Harris, leading the Soul Stirrers, and even though he began singing secular music, he continues to have a strong influence on the gospel world by producing the Stirrers. First, listen to Sam Cooke's version of This Hammer's "Song" sung at the Copa. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
@@meah_ushi what has RH harris got to do with this? are you telling me that this version would have been well received at the copa? you need to clean your ears out mate. and im certainly not clicking on your 'free version' lol, ive got his live at the copa album and i know it very well. There are some similarities but thats because its the same song buddy, everything else is different.
