Can't get over Elvis Costello being the spitting image of his dad! I love the way he dances and moves about to the song!😅

EC mentions this in his autobiography. The band actually played this at the famous concert for the Queen where John Lennon suggested the audience rattle their jewelry. He brought home their autographs and a young Declan pasted them in his autograph book. 25 years later he wrote songs with Macca.

I’m an EC fan. First saw him in 1977 at my university when he was part of the Stiffs tour. I remember playing his ‘My aim is true’ album at home that year. My father had met Ross and said that Ross had the better voice. Hard to disagree, but EC’s voice is well suited to his songs. I’m currently listening to the audiobook of EC’s memoir, read by the man himself, which I’d recommend.

This is the Claude Francois version, he's just knocking it off. Cloclo called it "Si j'avais un marteau" and changed the lyrics so that they'd work in French, Mr McManus used Cloclo's arrangement but sang the English lyrics. Sounds pretty good in both languages.

Otherwise known as a cover. I recall Elvis talking of the demands of his father's work; having to very quickly learn each week, with little to go on, song versions in preparation for performance or recording.
