People sometimes ( me also) forget that that in art we tend to exagerate for a reason to capture; movement, emphasis, or even strengthen a composition regardless of the rules (like the beast gohan arm) . However, its a hit or miss, i remember an example that maybe was from marcobucci, or modern day james, or... Proko? Anyway the example was on a painting and the artist made so the hands follow a flow in the figure, sacrificing the porpotion and potentially making a mistake but it turned good. So yes art is subjective but its not about just breaking rules for benefit but knowing when, how, and why make the decision.

Marshall Vandruff talks about knowing when to break perspective in his lectures about it, about how a good enough understanding will allow you to get away with what's technically wrong because you're aware of what looks right enough. Point behind this video is just that art's appeal will always be dependant on the person looking at it. Not only because of different priorities in what to focus on but mistakes that can be overlooked or to what extent they can, what purpose the drawing serves if any, etc. I think it's a waste that a lot of people are so short with eachother about this when the reasons for feeling differently can be valid and interesting.

This is why we have three different versions for DBS. The films, the anime, and the manga. This is why we have we SSBKaioken in the anime, SSG form switching to SSB in the manga, and nether SSBK or UI in the films. This is also why besides key events or actions characters act very different depending on the version. Besides the aforementioned script revising & writing he does for the films and currently DB Daima, Toriyama is very hands off besides character designs & general overseeing. Otherwise he lets the others do the rest. This is further highlighted with the behind scenes interviews Toei did with the work process for the T.O.P. Arc. Not to mention the Toyotaro’s interviews with Victory San show how much control Toriyama really lets him have. As it was his idea to for Granolah, for teen Goten & Trunks to be superheroes & have a prequel arc for Superhero and etc.
it's just so fucking funny when people start to pose 3d models and do extra work for theirselves just to prove and flame toyotaro and focus on every flippin mistake he does instead of simply enjoying or not enjoying a manga series. like honestly, if people would always cry about everything then 90% of manga and art are utter bullshit. people get so salty because of nostalgia

The purpose of this video is not to defend Toyotaro, it's to break down why the reception of art differs so greatly and how we could be more productive about discussing that. That's why I mentioned examples from both sides and made it clear my preference is beside the point.

The way i saw that gohan arm, is that the right arm is more forward and the left goes back so it looks shorter.
I have more issue with Toyotaro's writing and handling of characters.
