Just wanted to say I love the way you’ve been formatting your content and thoroughly enjoy the running- and non-running-related bits! The vlogging style perfectly captures your “hobby jogger” lifestyle, so please don’t change your videos to be strictly about running! Keep doing you 😊 Also, I’m one of those people who needs stability in my running shoes, so thank you for this review!
Nice! I am a neutral runner but got these on a deal (40% off) almost entirely because they are bright orange, my favourite shoe color, but they actually became one of my favorite shoes. They are a perfect recovery day shoe, not pillow soft in the Nimbus 25 style, but cushy and bouncy and feel like they actually help my form a bit when I am super beat up from a long run
Having a stable base is a very different feel than running in a stability shoe with traditional medial posting. I’m actually happy to see that many of the true stability shoes are trending towards a geometric stability or something more mild.
Excellent point. I have Novablast 4, yes base is wide/stable, but for me, the upper is not, so net result is instability. Compare to say, Rebel 2, upper locked in but base unstable (for me). Still looking for perfect replacement for Peg Turbos which did it all for me…

Just picked up the Puma Magnify 2… definitely a lot of folks (including RUclipsrs) sleeping on that one! Very smooth roll through with a perfect amount of foam for longer runs. One of those shoes that disappears on your foot and lets you forget about your feet!
I am currently using the Forever Run’s as my daily trainer. Love them! I usually use neutral shoes, but the support in these is very unobtrusive. I enjoy your videos!
Thanks for the 'parkrun' mention and accent effort! I've been with you since very close to the start, I struggled with that clicking noise you make initially 😁but am even on board with that now. I look forward to your daily videos and enjoy the comments on which cars drive past - great job!
I love this shoe for walking around, i find it wider than the other shoes from puma. Also for some casual short recovery run since it's very supportive, but i too don't like the 10 mm drop. The midsole foam does break in after 30-40 km and it gets bouncier 😊 Puma grip always the best!
I find myself pulling the 1080s for all my runs in between Ultra Races. Last Saturday I ran 94 kms to win a trail race, then chilled all week running by feel in the 1080s. They are comfy, bouncy and surprisingly durable. I’m a total forefoot runner so I’m able to hold everything from 10K to Marathon pace easily. I’m buying another pair next week as I am at 350 miles. They are still going well and lots of tread left. Heel strikers might not like them as much or they may wear faster. Thanks for all of your suggestions!
I got them over half price off and expected a bigger stack but they seem promising. They fit nicely and not too soft with some ground feel and stable. I actually think I'll enjoy them a lot on treadmill as they feel great on it. As a bigger runner they don't sink in too much but nice cushioned feel. Appear well made to last.
Tempus is a stability shoe that you can feel confident in while running fast. I love how versatile and solid the Tempus feels. It makes the GT2000 feel like a dinosaur IMO, and I used that shoe series for a long time.
NB Vongo 6. Supposed to be the stability version of the 1080. That would be interesting considering how much you like the 1080. The 10mm drop takes a bit of practice, but the Vongo is 6mm(?)
Happy you finally tried this shoe! For me its a great shoe but for a weirdly specific purpose: its the best shoe that allows me to run at zone 2 with ease. Meaning i find it hard to run a comfortable form at zone 2 in other shoes. My pace is way slower than you. So when i want to run slow and not feel weird this shoe is what i grab. Lol i call it my slow shoes. Not sure how slow you tried running but if you havent maybe try giving it go and see what you think. As we all know now in days that fast speed during training isnt everything and usually the least important factor most of the time.
Love for you to review the Guide 17 since it's more different than the Ride now. One of the only options for people that still love PWRRUN. This is also an interesting option.
After being analyzed at a Road Runner Sports, they recommended stability shoes. I got the most unintrusive stability shoe in the New Balance Vongo v6, but .15 miles in, my ankles started hurting so badly. Immediately returned them and instead resorted to leg strengthening. I guess the only way to know if you need stability is to try running in a stability shoe.
The forever run is def a very mild stability shoes....haven't tried it yet but I'd like to. Another great option is the Asics GT2000 12 (8mm drop). Both of these shoes can be used by any type of runner as the stability elements are non intrusive. I believe the saucony guide (also mild stability) is a 6mm drop.
I responded further down, then saw your comment as well. The Tempus can be had for $90 now in some colors and it's great IMO. Tempus is a stability shoe that you can feel confident in while running fast. I love how versatile and solid the Tempus feels. It makes the GT2000 feel like a dinosaur IMO, and I used that shoe series for a long time.
Got this for about $50, great daily trainers even for a neutral foot like I do. A bit bouncy and soft. The high drop kind of compensates for the lack of rocker. Although It might feel a bit thin on the forefoot and very cushioned on the heel.
Shoe gets better at the 30mile mark I think. The foam really sets in. I love it as invincible’s are too squishy for me. I think there’s a softer foam that’s cupped with the standard foam in the middle. Great shoe for me anyway.
I got these to replace my cumulus for longer runs. Found the foam around my toe in the cumulus would collapse after a little bit of time. Started to get a blister. Hope the forever run keeps its structure better.
Dude you inspired me to change my diet 🙌 I want to say thank you very much for you being a role model 🔥😃 I dealing now tho that calf thing for like almost 6 months and want to try everything in my power to get healthy again to run again feeling the like the old new me 😍 And your vegan diet came to my mind and I decided for my self to switch at least to vegetarian 💪 In the last couple of weeks I‘ve gone through a lot of days where I felt low on energy and a little bit like a cold 😅 but after some reflecting on that I think my body goes through some serious detoxification caused of the green and berry smoothies I drink every day in the morning 😍 And finally today I feeling way better like I have some kind of my juice back 🙌🙏 So thankful for that ☺️ And I just want to say thank you for the inspiration dude 🙏🔥
BUG SZN!! curious how you feel about the clifton 9, not full on stability but I actually used it as a daily trainer all year last year. covered me during steady to recovery, held its own (but not as poppy) during tempo days!
Highlight of my day are these longer-form reviews you do. Thanks for the info. I always debated if I wanted to try this shoe, but I think I'll pass on it.
🙌🏽 thank you! And I think it's a good call to pass. There are much more enjoyable/exciting shoes with stability to run in at this price point. I'm hoping to try some more true stability shoes soon too to compare with this
I believe in this shoe the softer foam is wrapped around with the firmer foam. So, when you are touching the foam, you are experiencing the firmer foam. It should break down after a few runs. At the bottom there are some triangular openings that exposes the softer foam (in some colorways it is a different color). I think it is on the heavier side. I think Saucony Tempus is a better implementation of light stability. I think you should give Tempus a try. It is somewhat similar to Endorphin Speed 2. Tempus 2 should be close so you can get Tempus significantly discounted.
The On Cloud Runner 2 is a stability shoes, but it is not as severe stability shoes as the On Cloud Flyer. The On Cloud Flow is neutral, and as far as I know, it is something between a Pegasus 40 and a Streakfly or bettewn an Adios 8 and a Boston 12. Is this Puma Nitro middlesole softer them the Nitro in a Velocity Nitro 3 or about the same ? Thanks.
Yeah thanks for the correction - I got the flyer and flow mixed up. And to me the midsole here was a lot softer than the velocity nitro 3. The velocity nitro 3 for me though felt much better at attempting faster paces than this
I bought New Balance 1540 and 1340 back in 2018 because I had severe blistering problems and got them in 6E. These are their traditional stability shoes and I think that they're getting phased out as they have newer models. They are very stiff and restrictive but they have high and wide toeboxes and a ton of midfoot volume. So if you have wide toes, high arch, and like a lot of room to wiggle your toes, it's great for fit. This was before stack got higher and higher. After I got through my blister problems, I went back to neutral shoes and I have no desire to use stability shoes for walking or running. Too heavy, too clunky, too stiff and too restrictive. What do I use those shoes for since I don't like them for running? They are perfect for spinning because they are so stiff. My spin bike uses toeclips on the pedals and so the back half of the shoe hangs off the pedal so the stiffness of the shoes keeps it flat and stable. Your speaking sounds neutral. I grew up in MA and our kids went to UMass Lowell so I know Lowell well. Weak ankles? Does the guy run? It's a lot easier using your ankle to press a gas pedal than going out for a run.
hi, im watching your videos for awhile now, and love it , really nice content ! I have a question , im running 5k , 3x per week for 13 months using Adidas Supernova 2 I wanna replace them for something more confortable , to push 10k , what do you guys recommend ? i overpronate a little .

Did you review the new balance fresh foam more x v4? They are my first running shoe and I find my three toes on my left foot become numb on and off during, and I’m dealing with pain in my legs I never have before! Everybody loves the shoe, I’m wondering if there is such thing as too much max cushion?
You can always block the losers that get too annoying..the 10mm drop is a deal breaker for me..I started breaking in the alphafly V3 yesterday and the 8mm drop is not great..5-6mm is just about right in any shoe that works well for me..the higher drop shifts more of your weight forward and puts extra pressure on the "pad" of your feet and bones/joints in your forefoot..might be why so many people like hokas and when I sell my extra shoes hokas sell way faster/easier than any other brands..people are always looking for used hokas..good review and how about keeping some of that southern heat/humidity down there...my blood is still thick from the winter temperatures and I had to cut my 4hr run to 2.5hrs cos the heat was too much..but a few weeks of high temperatures usually do it..
I haven't tried the Kayano yet! But my favorite shoe for overpronation is the new balance 860v14. It's a great blend of comfort, support and fun. I believe new balance makes it in wide
I bought the Puma ForeverRun Nitro. It's the worst shoe I've ever had in 45 years of running. It's clunky and way too soft. It feels like running in sand. No bounce or responsiveness at all. I retired it at about 50 miles to use as a walking/every day shoe, but I hate it so much, even for walking. I got the Puma Velocity Nitro 2 at the same time, and it's a much better shoe with less stack and for less money, but it's still not even close to one of my favorites. I wonder if the Puma Deviate Nitro might be the nest of the bunch, but I won't waste more money to find out.

Asics GT-2000 12 🏅 and ForeverRun has a dual density Nitro foam, check at the bottom of midsole or the specifications
Pumas generally have a higher drop. Even the deviate nitro 2 feels more like a 10mm than an 8mm due to the firmer foam in the heel section.
