This one from Anarchic System is for sure the best version of Pop Corn. Mature and timeless, with the Minimoog at its best, while many other versions sound rather toy-like. I was 12 when this became a hit and it has left me with a lasting interest in synthesizers.
@@TaupeGun72 Indeed the Minimoog. Producer Paul de Senneville preferred Anarchic System to cover 'Pop Corn', precisely because their keyboard player Christian Lerouge was very skilled with the Minimoog. See also information on Wikipedia.
@@martinhestermans4247 Thank you for this information. That was the beginning of Synthesizers story... Because you are an expert of synthesizer's world, I have another question regarding to Minimoog : according to you, was it this Keyboard used for Let's all Chant (Michael Zager Band) during the chorus (kind of lead / harpsichord) ? I'm still asking myself about that and also the music notes played so quickly. Thank you again👍
@@TaupeGun72 I'm not an expert at all, but interested, thanks to the internet we find much more information than before. All keyboards including the synthesizer on 'Let's all chant' (both the single and the LP) were played by Rob Mounsey. He surely used a Minimoog in the 1970's but I can't find anywhere if this was specifically the case on 'Let's all chant'.
Totally agree, Anarchic System made by far the best and most serious one. The Hot Butter version sounds rather toy-like (as well as many other versions).
This version blows Hot Butters right out of the water and the fact that everyone knows that version and this one still goes unoticed for the main part when it's quite possibly one of the best versions

Got the 7" for Christmas and currently dancing with my kids in the front room to it ... boom
This one is still jammin' after 50 years.
A better version of the song than that by Hot Butter!
