I'm proud to have started around beta, then left around when Cygnus Knights came out, came back around PVP, thinking how fast time flew between 2011 and 2006, now thinking how even more crazy it's been over 10 years, since 2011. Think as a 90s kid, big thing is these last 10 years, 4 was dedicated to college, 4 after college, then 2 lost years due to pandemic, wish there was a way to reach out to friends from back then again, but social media was still super new, so many people didn't have it! Thanks for making this for us old gen players!!
I’m from the same time period. Back when TIGER and FangBlade were being stalked 24/7, the FM channel 1 could straight up crash your game, and KPQ was crowded as shit. Came back to try it with my brother after more than a decade and a half
@thestoebz Yeah I've wanted to come back to play, but I feel like it's gonna feel like a totally new diff game, and saddest part is knowing how many have now moved onto other avenues

Welcome aboard my friend! When I started playing this game back then it was OG to wear your Mark of Beta Bandana, or people fighting to have a Dexless Sin with a Sauna, black Bandana and Golden Claw.... Even more that this game was passed to me from a friend in a 700MB CD!! Because I still had Dial Up Internet and he had 1 MBPS. this game is now over 23GB Jeez Im feeling old.

Your channel has made returning to maple as a pre-big bang player so much easier. Its a bit overwhelming but for the time being im just focusing on getting a bunch of classes to 120 for the link skills, that way I can try them all out and find out what to main.

I'd say you can't really decide until 5th job. Some jobs become 10x motr busted at 5th job (Cannon Master, as a good example).

Man, I played maplestory when I was a kid and probably never passed lvl 50. Heard some nostalgic music recently and decided to lookup the game and started playing again.
This video was very overwhelming at first and I felt totally lost in game. But since then I've gone back to this video so many times watching parts that I needed and it's been so very useful. I already got two characters to level 200 and it's almost all thanks to your guides. This game is so complex thanks for covering it so well Coppersan!

I've just discovered this channel and I really appreciate this video. It's been years since i've played, last time I played was when Ludibrium first came out. Everything has changed. Looks like leveling is easier but now there are much more complicated things in the game. I plan on making a comeback and this video helped a lot. Thanks coppersan!

Thanks for the re-introduction! As a player who's hopped onn and off ever since luminous was added, this is very helpful! It does get kind of stressful with the amount of systems used to buff character/ Wish it was all more contained. Like, one to two systems seems like enough heheheh.

I've honestly been playing this game on and off since pre big bang. I think Big Bang is when I really got into the game but its changed so much over the years, your guides really help me when I come back. Been enjoying my stay in the maple world and feeling like staying now.

Man. i got curious about playing maple again, im a really oldschool player (my character has the Mark of Beta headband) Its crazy for me you get free level 30. Back in the day it could take you months of grinding and PQing to get to 30
I started Maplestory with the release of Broa. I left before reboot, came back for nostalgia around the lvl cap raise, to 250. And haven’t really played since… this was nostalgic and helpful at the same time. This games been around for so long . . .want to get my kids into Maple

I started playing maple in 08 on bera. Quite for years and now I’m back. I can say I wasn’t thrilled at first with how fast you level up. Then I hit level 200 …. 0.000% lmfao when i saw the decimal point I was like well sheit .
It's still decent if you can one shot, went from 200 to 209 in 2h. 250 is where the grind starts

I have 5.6k legion in the normal server and I'm a casual player, this has been an insane achievement for me but I've been noticing that it's harder and harder to advance my main (zero lvl 222) as a free to play player, finally decided after seeing this video to start over in reboot, thank you coppersan
Over the weekend I was trying to figure out what game to play and was thinking between MapleStory and Path of Exile. It's been many many years since I've played either one and all of a sudden your video here is suggested to me. Well after watching 2 times I think I've made the decision to come back to MS. Lvl 200 was the cap last time I played if that's any perspective on how long it's been hah. Great video that definitely helping me jump back into the game.
I’d love to play more but I have a job and a kid now but I’m glad you guys having a lot of fun.
Inside the guide, there is a button in the bottom right that has the text "More" and a + symbol, if you click on that you get an exhaustive list of towns and fields you can travel to, and some of them do not appear in the "recommended hunting zone" area of the guide with their big pictures. Examples that are pretty great maps or very close to great maps include Mossy Tree Forest Entrance, to get into Ellin Forest a bit early, and train at the level 100 (often burning) fairy map, and at 110, you can travel to Forgotten Path of Time which is directly next to the Thanatos map, so you can get there before 120 without making the 12 map trek from ludibrium. Those are the only big ones I can think of, but this also handily lists out all the unlocked teleports you have.

Whenever i make a new character, i always complete the mushroom shrine questline to get Wings Of Fate, They have good stats and look very cool
For Maplesea the rates for Elixir in the auction house are at 1500 per flask so it's actually cheaper to get that there. If you're in a guild you can use the G-potions which are effectively PEs. Same for all cure potions, do not buy them from npcs, buy them from auction house which are SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper (80% less expensive)

I wish MS made a nostalgic server, so that it looks like the nostalgic private servers, but with updates and exclusive nostalgic maps, mobs, etc. I really think MS is not the game from before, but understandable

Getting back into maple has been the most daunting task ever, where things are familiar enough but not familiar at all. Haven't played since 2017 and I always just close the game whenever I try to relearn the game lol
Like many, I was turned off from the game because of how "easy" I thought it had become. Then I realized it only felt easy because I was still approaching the game the same way 10 years ago, thinking the goal was to hit late 100s, kill HT, Zak, that type of thing. Since completely rethinking what my goals were in the game (Gear progression, getting to Mid 200's, etc.) and it made me realize the game wasn't easy at all, and it's been a blast!
Came back after a year break. Lol making a fresh new account so this helps alot thanks. No links or anything time to start the grind.
I haven't played this game in so long...Time to restart for a bit. It used to be absoutely amazing back in the day with i think it was the sin/claw character. used to be so OP along with the hours upon hours of grinding certain locations with friends.

24:10 you forgot to mention that the Ifia accessories can turn into a Boss Accesory Set ring if you get 10 copies, which early on rings are few and far between.
Even though I've play for a few months at a time then take a break for a few months, so I know a lot about the general path, this video still managed to help me remember things I've forgotten about, or about when I should've been doing certain things. I greatly appreciate this video and I'm sure people more lost than me enjoy it more!
How do you get the ifua rings and how do you convert them??
In Von Leon's questline, after you unlock all the towers, you can keep going to reach Ifia's ghost and her rose garden. Doing this questline (minimal effort, shorter than the von leon line but still a bit time consuming) will unlock a daily quest.
The Daily quest has you pretty much just kill things to get (iirc) 8 boxes that can give the accessory pieces.
Hard Von Leon also has a chance to directly drop any of the Ifia accessories as well. If you can kill him just do that instead.
Once you get 10 of any combination of Rings, Pendants, or Earrings, you can talk to Ifia's ghost to convert them into the Noble Ifia Ring.
It's pretty much a Silver Blossom Ring, same stats, lvl 120, and also counts as a part of the set.

I have some questions tho... (note that I paused the video once you reached level 200 to watch this part once I'll be there) : at which point do you want to start making new characters for Link bonusses? When should you begin Legion content ? And at which point do you want to just leave the main quest while starting new characters? It made my leveling easy for the beginning, but the cutscenes and stuff takes a long time and I don't want to repeat this storyline 10 times lmao...

You want to start working on link skill / legion characters as soon as you feel like it, they are an enormous source of damage. If you don't feel like doing the same cut scene crap again you can just start a different class as every class and group of classes (explorers, resistance, cygnus) has it's own starting questline, some have really long ones like explorers and some have really short ones .
In case you didn't know, the interact/harvest key can be held down to skip dialogue quickly. Didn't know about that for a long time and it makes the story quests go by a lot faster

@@ganondawlf I would advise against leveling Mercedes so soon unless you have a strong will, it has one of the worst and clunkiest early game mobbing. A better bet would be going for damage links first like Demon Avenger, Kanna or Ark.

Would you be making a guide for equipment post level 200! Like the progression and unlocking of cra, lomien, etc. I always see people talk about it but as a new player I'm not exactly sure how to progress through them!
For 140s you can go to skelegon map too!

I'm so glad they changed the 5th job class 3rd quest to defeating monsters in 3 stages, the old find my portal made squishy classes like Lara sweat getting hit by the potion blocking mob trying to find her.

With tera burning I went from level 100 to 165 on my Noblesse purely by entering and defeating only the arms of Zakum. It's so OP haha

How do I get more free hyper tele rock in burning server? I got the one from the daily gift but now it’s expired and I have to walk everywhere
For any newbies out there hes not kidding about it being long i made a few explorers in different worlds and the into to explorer takes about 15 to 20 mins even if ur mashing the skip button.
getting to 30 charm is easy insight and empathy are more important, but overall good comprehensive guide

Right now there’s the event with Tera burning and I can accept an event ring “1 of 3” but I’m hesitant on claiming it because I have a feeling it’s going to be untradable and I haven’t found a main yet. I only have 2 characters and want to start making link skills. Should I just accept it before the event disappears?
I used to play when the game first came out. I have a 180 assassin on windia which after logging on I realize that server is gone and merged. After login I realized I have 1 billion mesos and a lot of old nx and stuff from 2004-2009. What should I do? Can I keep playing my main character but on a different popular server or just start from scratch?

I made the wrong explorer class for the burning event on the non burning world. Is there a way to restart?
If you do the explorer cut scene once can you skip it on new explorers afterwards ?

Hi guys i have a problem. Has anyone here experienced a black screen problem right after char selection? I've done the to full screen it before char selection, put it in power saving mode, clear my regedit, but it still doesnt work. Can anyone help? Im a maple lover
Haven't played in a while, been tempted to get back in but kinda disappointed that all my old characters/items are pointless now (at least I assume so). It was pretty cool having a Hyper telerock w/ unlimited uses. Burning servers sounds tempting, but reboot sounds interesting to me as well... And I'm sort of stunlocked by all the class choices too.
I feel ya I haven’t played this game in about 8 years and I decided to try it again and everything is so different I decided to abandon everything I had in the regular server and have started over in reboot and I still have no idea what I’m doing
got Von Lion dude to 75% hp slowly, then my atatcks just seemd to stop doing damage. is this a bug? Seen videos of other people killing him and he does not seem to have any mechanic that stops damage to him. lvl 160.
