    Hi, thanks for the videos...
    the ones on the back are used to lift the bike.
    Im using a pitt bull bike stand for the rear of the bike, those are my lift point.
    appreciate your videos, and have watched quite a few of them.

    I'll call that an exhaust slider. The exhaust sticks out alot more than that swing arm slider.

    how tye hell another stud is locked in? I can't install this since shogun used 19mm nuts and the socket doesn't fit inside the puck... U can try to use original 17mm nut that socket fits in the puck but there's no way to lock the fixed 19mm nut on the other side. This set is a complete disaster.

    So, frame sliders I understand. Probably going to be one of my first mods. But I don’t understand the swingarm sliders. Aren’t the passenger peg mounts (or that sweet muffler) going to contact ground long before the swingarm?
    I mean, they look cool. And the bosses are there for some reason. But it seems the swingarm sliders should be quite a bit bigger.
    OBTW, picked up my 2020 SV650 yesterday. Feels so good.

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  4 года назад +1

      Ya you’re right. I got them because they were cheap at the time and I hoped they would work with my rear stand. However that’s not the case lol oh well

  • @malahi2106

    • @brettwicks7339

    don't get what use the swing arm slider on the exhaust side will serve..surely that should stick out further than the exhaust to save it getting damaged in the event the bike goes over..

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  5 лет назад +1

      Honestly man they came in a set so I put them both on lmao but to be fair the main frame slider on the body should help protect the exhaust, if the rear one came out further than the exhaust it would be a hazard for catching while leaning on turns I’m sure

    • @kpr1969
      @kpr1969 5 лет назад +1

      Smokin Monkey fair point... I’m brand new to riding so learning every day but I’d be scared for that exhaust. Sure the frame slider and the end of the can would be the 1st point of contact... stay safe man.. you got an excellent tool box there too.. you work in the mechanical trade or something ?

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  3 года назад

      Ya it’s gonna be a lot easier with two because one side will want to spin as you tighten the other side

  • @redfive5123
    @redfive5123 5 лет назад

    I quote Organic Hotdog's comment from a similar video (and similar confusion): "those are not swingarm sliders. Those are what are called cotton reels or rear spools which are used to lift your real wheel off the ground with a rear stand. It's more stable than lifting the rear swingarm as you have done in this video. Most rear stands give you the option of lifting via the swingarm or spools."

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  5 лет назад

      Lmao no these are not spools these are about 3-4 times the size of my spools. These will not fit a stand lmao believe me I know what parts I have but thanks for trying

    Thanks for the informational video! I just got my set but have a few questions. 1) Were the new bolts on your set of frame sliders both 19mm? 2) Were both of your frame sliders cut appropriately? One of my sliders seems like it is slightly too narrow (maybe a manufacturing default) because the socket wrench will get stuck in it when the nut is definitely the same size (19mm) on both sides.

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  2 года назад

      Not sure what size the nut was I haven’t touched the sliders in forever. But my socket fit both sides easy so might be a manufacturing defect

    My frame sliders have arrived now and i’m gonna put them on my self.. i bought R&G brand through the dealer as it was quicker than ebay because i don’t wanna ride too much with out the sliders .... i’ve dropped every bike i’ve had so don’t wanna take any chances. Was the original bolt easy to undo or does it require a fair bit of force (i ain’t very strong) and did you have to use ‘Thread locker’ when you fastened up the new bolt to stop it vibrating lose? I also bought a Radiator Guard form an Australian company called ‘Rad Guard’.

    • @SmokinMonkeyOG
      @SmokinMonkeyOG  5 лет назад

      Not it was not that tight to take off. And I used nylon locking nuts instead of thread locker. I’m sure I could have asked the thread locker as well but I didn’t feel it needed it.

    Does anyone know if this style of frame slider will fit the 2022 model? Are they the same motor mounts? I can't find sliders for the 2022 anywhere but found some Evotech sliders that are installed the same exact way as these ones, but they are 2018. Does it make a difference? Or is it the same rod and motor mount system?
