Hidden articulating joints is a cool feature hhope to see this in more projects. However, I hope that whatever chemistry is in the silicone it is somehow long life and stable.
@@Joe-306 yeah. Not sure what it’s made from but we shall see!
It’s probably similar to the material used in Hot Toys figures.
The Smart Dolls use something similar for their skin, and it should be quite durable. Smart Dolls also have the internal skeleton to support the doll's soft body.
Starman has Chun-Li and Cammy figures that are like this and they are quite big. They actually have real cloth clothing. However, there seems to be concerns about not stressing the silicon joints too much and leaving it neutral which potentially ruins the seamless possibility. But I don't know anyone who has a figure for such a long time where this fear is warranted.

Finally, someone talking sense. I would love to see that.
Phicen has been doing the silicone outer with articulated inner skeleton thing for ages at 1:6 scale, but also for some time now for 1:12 scale. They’re much more of a realistic aesthetic so it would make for an even more um… particular review, but they are amazing, and the miniature clothing for them is wildly detailed.
Good to know
It looks nice, but as far as I know, silicone parts of seamless body figures are a huge pain to maintain in proper condition.
Probably
@@RoyFokker93 I've had this figure a year and it's just amazing. As far as I know this is their own special silicon and it definitely does seem to be different. So far I noticed no problems with it. No marks, dirt, discolouration or stickiness.

When it comes to ecchi figures, I’m in the mindset that if it’s cool to have a bunch of near naked muscular dudes on a shelf (especially with the Boris Vallejo, Julie Bell, Frank Frazetta proportions) then it’s just as cool to have a shelf full of pretty girls.
I get leery when it comes to silicone figures. I’ve had a few Phicen/TBLeague pieces and they attract dust like a magnet and the endoskeleton can come through via regular posing.
Haha, good excuse!
My wife actually gives me the questionable side-eye MORE if I buy a topless muscular dude figure than if I buy a scantily-clad lady figure🤨

From what I understand, this is made by Nuclear Gold Reconstruction x Animeister. The series is Thunderbolt Squad and they are OC but I think have lore. The figure is called Whiskey Sour and is the second figure in the line. The first I believe was Barbara Red and the third coming out is Vodka Mirror and the fourth set to come out some time in the future is Absinth Green. There was an exclusive version of this kit released at SDCC.

I've been watching quite a bit of your videos lately, ranging from months/years old, to more recent within the past 2-3 weeks, since I recently started collecting figures. This video is by far one of the funniest I've seen from you. Was never really interested in these kinds of figures, however this video might actually make me want to buy one. I can say I always look at the 18+ /NSFW figures, and boy they got some interesting stuff on there, but man most of them are crazy expensive! As far as the seamless body you were describing, or PHICEN, they do have these bodies in the 1/12 scale category. They are customizable if you are into that or already come pre custom made. There is this 1/12 2B complete with head, body, and accessories that I want to eventually pick up. Anyways, sorry for the long rant. You should do more of these types of reviews. SUBSCRIBED!

would be really cool to see someone make a stop-motion animation with this one, I know there are really good stuff that channels like Animist make figmas but I think the lack of visible joints might make it look more natural, or more like a real stop-motion character rig.

They have the seamless body's in 1/12th. The main thing with those silcone seamless body's is to not leave them posed in a dynamic pose.

If the price of this action figure is what we saw at the beginning I would say it's a bargain, I think it's really well done, plus giving you accessories to modify the face is extraordinary.
I must say that you have explained all the various details very well, thank you❤
Thank you
I know a lot of people don't like the scale they're at, since there's not much else around that size, but I think it's completely necessary. The metal frame inside is extremely tight, so at a smaller scale, that would make moving joints really hard, not to mention fragile, since they would need to be thinner. Also, the quality of the skin parts are extremely good in comparison to the material used on something like the Scientific Catgirl Himewari. I talked to a few others, and they seem to think that it's not silicone, and instead some kind of polyurethane. I've had my Whiskey Sour for over a year on an open shelf, and she's still in great condition. No becoming sticky or deterioration that attracts dust. The Barbera Red is their second release with an incredibly cool design. I wholeheartedly would recommend these to anyone who collects anime girl figures. They are fantastic.
@@hokustronk64 well that’s great to hear! Thanks for the update!
I agree that the scale is weird. If 1/12 wasn't an option, maybe they should have gone all the way to 1/7, as there are tons of anime figures in that scale. One other action figure that fits the 1/9 scale and style perfectly is Moshow Toys' MU-2 Heavy Duty Mecha.
I would modify the peg hole for the stand, plug the original hole then redrill another hole positioned a little lower to make the mounting look better

Back in the 70's we had American figures with skin, but over the years even in cool, dark storage, the material would dry, crack, and/or rot. Have they fixed that type of thing now 50 years later?
I don’t know. I would guess, absolutely
I always wondered why they never used a rubber-like cover over the figures to remove seams/joints to make it look realistic but I always thought it was because either the material would degrade and ruin the figure over time, it would tear or it made it impossible to get into the skeleton underneath for repairs.
Looks like we're getting there but still, I hope in the future they find a material (or rubber-like mixture) that won't tear and if they can't, at least give us the ability to remove and/or swap it. (Maybe a seam at the back that's covered by clothing or something.)
Makes me wonder what a figure with this skill cover + cloth material clothes would look like?
Yeah, joints would probably need to have soft goods because at certain sizes things just bunch up and look weird.
I appreciate your effort to explore "fringe" territory and still keep it fun for the viewer. This kind of figure is obviously meant for "extreme" collectors of creepiness, but the attention to detail and seamless body feature are interesting nonetheless. keep it up.

These kinds of figures are cool, but this would be something you’d really want to have and plan on keeping.
