The reason this is the best version is because this show was in every Aussie lounge room every Saturday night for a decade.. the boys feel at home here, it’s like playing at a mate’s house!
And nobody went out on a Saturday night until after Hey Hey was over. All these years later, I still don’t understand why they canned the show. 🙃
That's very true I feel like HHIS was Australia's lounge room 😂 However I've gotta say I've grown to love the live version from the soul deep tour more, the live band really gets down to it. Truly we're so lucky to have multiple performances of it still accessible.

Not sure if you know shortened names Barnsey and Farnsey, their names are John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes. On guitar is Jimmy Barnes’s brother in law Diesel, real name Mark Lizotte . Yes us Aussie shorten names quite often lol.

The show started in morning tv for kids, morphed to night-time variety show. The host Daryl Summers was Pretty good at singing too.

You don’t know John Farnham? He is our living Legend and named by Richard Marx as the greatest voice alive today. Love it when John shares his microphone with Diesel. He doesn’t need it and we haven’t found a genre he can’t sing yet, including Opera. Have fun watching him.

You MUST do more of John Farnham. Known as "The Voice". He can sing any genre, live technically perfect. He's one of the worlds GOATS, by far.
Always do him live & make sure you get the right videos to react to. Ie "You're the Voice" reaction should have been with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Other's to do: Help (with above Orchestra) he did as an encore to a 2.5hr concert. Paul McCartney said JF's version is how it should have been sung & better than the original.

Just a FYI he didn’t say no to Queen. Queen were blown away by John’s performance of We Will Rock You. Subsequently, Queen recorded a track of We Will Rock you especially for John to record his vocals on (this version is on RUclips) and they sent this to him. John did the recording, he sent the files over to Queen, management liaised etc. He didn’t get the job but what a huge compliment to be asked in the first place!!
