One of my all time favorites, as both player and composer. (He opened with "Time Will Tell" from Art Blakey's Gypsy Folk Tales LP! Sweet! First saw Bobby at Edison Theatre at Washington University in St. Louis in 1979 at the end of my freshman year. It was Bobby (as), Art Blakey (dr), Charles Fambrough (bs), Valeri Ponomarex (tp), Walter Davis Jr. (p) and David Shnitter (ts). Bobby blew me away, as did Walter (I'm a piano player.) Years later in the 90's I caught Bobby, Victor Lewis and Horizon at St. Louis' Just Jazz club at the old Hotel Majestic on 11th Street. He had Essiet Essiet (bs), Victor Lewis (dr), Joey Calderazza (p) and Terrell Stafford (tp). And let me tell you, they absolutely SMOKED! They opened the first set with "In Case You Missed It" and set two with "Heckle and Jekkyl." Stellar concert!
HEY! Rob!!!..it's been a long time since our days at U of M...(mid-70's)...hope Pam is well...you have come a long way...happy for you...sounds good...keep it up old man 🖐👍

One of the best in this series, in my opinion. Beautiful playing, and valuable advice.
