+nawrock I think I got everybody except Conrail that day, and maybe NS, I can't remember if they were running transfers at that point or if everything came across on the boats.
Awesome. Yes NS was usually at night/early morning and there was Conrail RR20 which went to the CP yard. Did you end up filming again in Windsor? Also loved seeing the CP unloading the Barge.
+nawrock That explains why I don't remember the NS trains. I did see the Conrail come in to CPs yard at least once.I would say I averaged a couple of trips to Windsor per year up through the mid-90s
Dan Cluley Yup. The CASO traffic was reduced immensely (now it's pretty much non existent outside of Windsor), the rail yards along the river front were ripped up and ferry service discontinued after they widened the tunnel. CP also took out the siding between Lakeshore Jct. and Walker Rd. At the same time though in the early 2000s they added the double track from Begin/End CTC Sign Walkerville to Walker Road and added Walkerville Yard at North Service Rd.
+CPWindsorsub I think by '90 most of the riverfront trackage was gone. They were still turning the VIA engines at the old CN roundhouse, but that went pretty quickly too.The FPAs & FP7s were long gone from the US passenger trains, and cabooses were getting pretty rare. The funny thing is at the time the CP Alcos seemed very exotic, but in the mid '90s they were pretty common on the runthrough trains to Chicago.
Dan Cluley'94 was when the tunnel was widened so they were using the ferries up until the tunnel was big enough. I think CN ripped up their yard first though as they pulled out of Windsor to build their tunnel in Sarnia before CP finished their tunnel project. There's a video on it called CP Rail Windsor Tunnel Enlargement and shows how the tunnel was built and what happened during the renovations.
Awesome videos, Dan! I was wondering when did you come to Sault Ontario & did you film the railway crossings on Wellington St W, Queen St W near the bridge, Cathcart, Albert, Bruce, Pine, Pim, Second Line, Conmee, People's Rd, Huron St and the ones near the mall?
Great video Dan! Love seeing the CN and CSX trains in and out of Windsor. Keep them coming!

That's awesome. I hope you made some more videos during those trips.
Awesome video! I always love seeing videos of what Windsor used to be like for railfanning.
+CPWindsorsub Glad you liked it. It seems like there were huge changes from the begining to the end of the '90s.
