- In this video I am combining two medias, Resin and Resin Casting Powder.
I am using four different molds, a vase, tray, rock and the @intoresin handmade flower. For the resin portion I am using the Lets Resin casting pump resin, and for the casting powder also Lets Resin magic pour. In the resin I am using the Lets Resin resin dyes purple and sky blue mixed with the Lightwish starry purple and starry blue. I swirl these into the resin, not mix because I want a swirling effect versus a solid color. I use my vacuum chamber to remove bubbles from the flower mold with the resin in it.
for the tray I use air dry clay to build a barrier for the casting powder and pour half of the tray, let cure and remove the clay and then pour the other half with tinted resin with the Lets Resin aqua. For the vase, I pour the resin first using the blue and purples and swirl it, let it cure then put the casting on top.

The way that the blue comes through when you put the purple lotus on top of the blue tray creates awesome accents. I think it's great. Of course, making another until you're pleased with it, is always an option. I love the vase. I've heard people say that resin will stick to the eco pours, but not the other way around, so it's probably best to top coat your vase if you want it to last....but I can't say that I've ever had issues.

Everything turned out so pretty! That Lotus mold is just gorgeous and the purple one you made looks great with all the other pieces. The swirling effect on the vase is really beautiful. Did the colors swirl together when you poured it or did you use a stick to blend them it a bit?

Thank you🥰❤ I swirled the colors individually and poured them individually and thats how they ended up. I love doing that technique, it never disappoints. I can try and see what I can do with that end screen business. I wondered how that was turning out. Thanks for letting me know that, appreciate it. 😊

I wonder if you took the stiffer resin-filled molds and soaked them (not submerged if the craft isn't totally resin.) in some really hot water for a few minutes, it might soften them enough to make them easier to demold
My son used that trick when connecting my oxygen tube to another. The warmed rubber was more pliable while it was warm.
Now, this project is great and you used my favorite colors, 💜 and 💙. I also wondered if the tray would stay together 👍. I love your lotus mold, and the way you dress up the flower with different accents. Simply awesome!
Well Carolyn I guess the only way to know would be to try it, great tip thank you. Im glad you like it, I think because the Resin went under the magic pour I think it will stay together, but if it doesnt I will just glue it. But its pretty solid. ❤🥰

Love it! I think you are supposed to pour the resin first, then the casting powder. The bond will be stronger.

Anyhoo… what I originally said was… this set turned out really stunning; although I agree that doing the Lotus flower in the purple, to match the vase, would tie them all together beautifully!! I have seen other artists creating the flower with this mould, and they’re all so gorgeous… I wish I could afford to get one myself!
Then I wanted to add that Marva (hope I’m spelling that correctly) is awesome fun to watch… and I really admire the way she shares new artists with her followers to help them build their channel. Tracey from MiniScenes does the same, and I see Tracey commenting on a lot of other channels too. I just think it’s really admirable the way ‘most’ of you, not only put up video tutorials so all of us can learn, but make sure and spread the love among other artists.

I’m not new to resin but I’ve been ill for some time now and I’ve never heard of magic pour. Is it an eco resin? That lotus flower turned out beautiful. The whole thing is stunning. I’m enjoying your creativity.

Next time to save on so much cleanup, if you don't want to pour an entire tray and break it, get some silicone ear plugs. They make great barriers and won't stick to the silicone like that.
Also, that vase may come apart. Epoxy resin will stick to cured eco resin, but eco resin doesn't stick to cured epoxy. It will but it's not a good bond.

Thanks for putting me on the path to this video. Do you seal the stone part and the line separating them? Also can you reuse the clay barrier for future project with the same mold?
Janice, Yes I did seal the the stone with dragonfly glaze. And the clay can be reused, I put mine in a zip lock baggie and then in a plastic container that's air tight. Your very welcome.

Barbara, you should put something on them whether its wax or a glaze, I just put a glaze on these for the look. Hope that helps🥰
