Why Can't I See Other People's Instagram Stories?

Instagram stories are one of my favorite parts of the app. They give you a better glimpse into someone's day and what they're doing. However, we've had complaints that some users can't see other people's Instagram stories even though the follow the person. In this video, I'll walk you through several different reasons why the Instagram stories of some people may not be working or loading properly. One thing to check first is to make sure you didn't mute their story by accident, that will prevent you from being able to watch it. This trick works on both iPhone and Android phones.

For those who still have this issue try reporting the problem with a screenshot and you'll get it within 2 to 3 mins! ( It worked for me and I got the entire story bar back!!!!)

@@shreyasinha22 I took a screenshot and reported the problem through Instagram. ( go to settings > help > report a problem > then choose "report a problem" again > explain what happened to you and attach a screenshot > then submit) Hope this helps! :)

Can it happen that I can't see someone's specific stories? I can see everyone else's, just one person's storyline and stories have miraculously disapperared....

@@davidjuhasz7245 When you load IG on the web (since you tried on laptop) did you notice that for a second it looks like their 'highlight' is about to load, but then just disappears? Because I think that is 1 way to know. (When you mute stories, the highlights also go away if they have them)...on the phone app you don't see that, but I notice that on the web version. Weird.

They can still see mine and yours - mute is for relatives, you don’t unfollow your relatives.

I had this incident that I could see someone’s Instagram story when they were uploaded, but I couldn’t see the highlights. But my friend was following the same person and she could see their highlights and their story. What does that mean?

It doesn't work because I DO NOT SEE that person's avatar circle up top. I do see their regular posts.

Same here, I don't think I'm blocked or restricted by them but I switched accounts to check and suddenly the person's stories were visible again.
