Hi guys! New #GenshinImpact 1.2 Dragonspine update is out!! I spent a couple of hours doing this quest it was such a pain to do so I thought I'd make a video showing you guys a step by step guide on how to do this full "Investigate the Strange Ice" "In the Mountains" quest!

For the 3rd thaw ice one. It won't be in the same area as hers(for some people), you have to find little ice piles with snow on top(it will shimmer) and melt them with pyro(fire). :)
Another, for the star glow cavern make sure you check to find Seelies when in battle. If your coldness is running up you can run to the other side if you don't have all of the Seelies on each side. For the abyss mages they kinda follow you, so stay near that one Seelie.

The challenge was so fcking hard, every time they spawn on different sides I had to get frozen for 5+ times and I can't even hit the ice mages with their stupid towers.
and where is the third seelie!?. am I the only one having problems finding one?

@@Tikiri266 don’t know if you figured it out yet, but one of the seelies is behind the crystal hidden behind a pile of breakable rocks.
Fr, I've had like 100 deaths and actually can't do the final quest. I also had help from a level 60 to do it.
I used the wind special ability that you have to charge up for the stupid mages, it would hit them while I attacked the other ones not caught in the tornado of the main characters ability. I don’t know if that helps but I thought I’d put that out there.

Yes do it. Dragon spine is pretty and the bgm is exceptional but the freeze meter ruins it

a good tip for fighting the abyss mages, make sure they're above water before you break their shield. once the mages are in water they'll drown and it'll save you a lot of time

The easiest way would be to boost your pyro damage and cryo resistance with potions. looooooolol

@@mintygreens5397 confirmed, cry res and pyro dmg pots make the difference. Eat a gold or purple crit food too for good measure.

I hate this quest, and Dragonspine too. The only thing I like about this is Albedo's quest. I mean, the rewards aren't even that big for the trouble they're worth. _sigh_

@This is the way __ you can do the first part where you gotta kill the hilichurls and mages in co-op and you can do the rest
Small tip:
For the last stage, instead of jumping onto the floating pillars, simply use an archer, aim, and shoot. It's easier that way.
I very much suggest you do this quest in Co-op mode,, it makes the whole thing much easier

God I’m so happy I finished this 😤 I could only do it at RaNk 30, and with characters that are lvl 40-50. It would be helpful for you to have at least one strong fire character before you do it, unfortunately for me I only had Amber and Xangling (who I didn’t build well enough cause I don’t like her fighting style) 😫seriously this quests should be given a lot later then it is given. I thought I was just bad fighting and stuff, turns out you just need “high” lvl characters and a good team that can do damage. Also, don’t get discouraged, if you can’t do it now, just wait until you get stronger and do it then. :)
All my characters in my team are lv 50 existing of MC anemo, 2 pyro and one electro ... still can't do the last part! It is so frustrating that 1 they spawn at different sides of the lake thing & 2 I keep freezing because somehow in an ice cave there is still water around... I can't complete it most of the time cause the time runs out when I have like 2% left to go😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨 BTW Bennett Xinyan Beidou are on my team with fully upgraded weapons and buffs as well & I still can't do this stupid quest!
Normal games: lets give fairly obvious hints. Genshin: Nah they can figure it out on their own
one of the best guides ive seen on youtube for this quest, it buggs me how so meny people that upload videos are so reluctant to speak in a video.

Little tip for the time trial try to activate the rest of the hidden chest spots with the fire ghosts there are 2 or 3 and then u wont get frozen anymore after i did that i got it 1st try

All the people in the comments i feel you, i was one of you until today when i co-oped with two random people who helped me complete the quest easily....just co-op with your high level friends or any random person and you'll get it done in no time :D i couldn't have completed the quest without them

Word of advice to those who have trouble with the Starglow caves ones, after getting all the seelies near the fight, try and kill people by propelling them into water in the first fight. Saves, like, 15 seconds.
DO NOT try this on the Abyss Mages, though. They turn the water into ice, like, 70% of the time. Have no clue how the other 30% of the time they die the same way as any other enemy dropped in water.
I'll edit this if anyone asks questions on anything else on how I did that fight.

I thought the mission was going to be done after beating the first big monster in the beginning, when I defeated him I was looking for the reward and was so confused as to why nothing happened. So I looked this video up for help and realized you had to use those red gems to break the ice crystal thing, and I thought that was going to be the end of it. But after finishing that task I realized there was still 8 MINUTES of the video left. Yeah not worth it, this mission is ridiculous for the amount of rewards you get.

note: you do not have to fight the boss just activate the boss get it away from the quartz, break the quartz and damage the ice, then tp away to reset the boss

5:50 I can't seem to find the crystal where the seelie is in, I thought I've broken it so I tried looking for the seelie but I can't find it anywhere

If you look closely at that time I hit the crystal and there is a small crystal with snow on top. When I hit that the seelie came out, hope that helps!
Yeah it’s a bug it doesn’t appear on my game either and I don’t know if there’s a workaround for it
I figured it out. There are 4 different little snow heaps, its in one of them. Its always different and random so it might not be the same as hers. Just look around down in the cave and melt all of them. In one of them there will be the seelie in it

I hit the crystal accidentally while fighting the mini-boss and thought you had to go around and defeat every one of these mini-bosses to lower the crystals life. So I was searching and killing them for an eternety only to get told that you have to gather some ore and then slap the crystal. xD
